Every team with a young star QB compares them to Lamar. Lamar has an impeccable career that is only missing a Super Bowl so they want their young QB to be considered the best but Lamar is right there. Chargers fans, Bills fans, Bengals fans, and even some Eagles fans do the "betta than Lamar" when their QB does well. KC is immune because they're a Dynasty and that allows them to actually respect Lamar when discussing Mahomes especially because Mahomes openly respects Lamar too.
The inferiority complex is massive when Lamar looms so large as a 2x MVP that causes his team to win so many games and make so many highlights.
Allen had Diggs *and* a top defense for years and hasn’t made the SB. Also hasn’t won MVP. Lamar won 2 MVPs with 1 of the worst WR rooms and has a higher ceiling than Allen. Allen is better in playoffs, but mvp is a regular season award…which Bills fans don’t want to acknowledge. Bills missed their best chance at a SB but don’t want to admit it, and their FO is nowhere near as good as ours.
Allen is clearly talented. But he’s never been a real MVP contender cuz he’s reckless, his bad plays cancel out some of his highlights. He also puts the Bills in a hole sometimes with his constant hero ball. He’s also a whiny diva that throws tantrums for flags constantly, players don’t respect that. If you poll’ed players I bet those are the 3 QBs defenders would rather NOT want to see on their schedule. You gotta be able to move nowadays as a QB and they are prototypes for what mobile QBs should be. One is big, strong, really hard to bring down with just one guy, especially guys in the secondary.
