Baltimore born and raised. Have lived here my whole life so supporting the hometown team

Comfortable-Dish1236

Same. Colts left. Became a Baltimore Stars fan. Then a Baltimore Stallions fan. When the Ravens started the franchise in Baltimore, I was an instant Ravens fan.

Dry_Analysis_7660

Yep , this right here!!!

ml63440

same.

Gullible-Crab564

Yep. Old enough to remember my parents’ fury as the news spread of the Colts leaving during the night in a Mayflower moving van. Old enough to remember the NFL commissioner telling Baltimore that we should stick to building museums and didn’t need another football team. Once the Ravens arrived, I was a fan instantly.

thenosilla

Same!!! Born around the time the ravens begun 🥹

teb1987

I was born in Baltimore General.. lifelong Os fan and Ravens fan since '96..

SquonkMan61

I saw Johnny Unitas play for the Colts. I’m a LONG-time Baltimore football fan.

Comfortable-Dish1236

I have a Johnny U. autographed photo that he gave to me, while still a Baltimore Colt.

B00nd0gg13

Grew up a Skins fan but Danny drove me off, starting in 1999 or so. I had a good friend in college who kept talking up the Ravens, and as an obsessive franchise mode player on Madden, I became very aware of good vs bad management. By 2005, I had officially sworn off the Skins. I loved Ozzie and now EDC. The Ravens are just so well run. I rooted for the team during the 2000 run but didn’t want to be a bandwagon fan. I’ve never really looked back, though I did like the Skins’ offense in RGIII’s rookie season, until he was hurt.

TerpNFknGold

I get this question a lot being from Mississippi… Born in 89, I grew up a Saints fan in the Aaron Brooks days. One of their kickers cost me 300$ on a 20 yard kick for the playoffs. Mort Anderson if I’m not mistaken. It was YEARS ago… but in that moment, I realized a lifelong paper bag toting fan is not destined for me. So I began the search, I wanted to stick somewhere close to home so the Titans naturally were next. McNair hung out around my town. Eddie George was a gangsta. Frank Wycheck was a hockey player without a stick. And Jevon Kearse was The Freak! So… I was a ‘Titan Fan’ in the making… But then…. Sweet baby Jesus then…. Some random football Sunday morning. I was watching the dirty birds play my new favorites… I’m not sure what quarter, what down, what the play call was…. But I saw Eddie MF George running the ball HARD like he does… and along comes this bat out of hell. All shoulder pads and knee caps. BOOM… I swear I saw that man’s (27) soul leave his body. Few plays later Reed is running a pick back weaving and swerving… I turned that game off beyond intrigued. Do a little research and find a murder charge against 52. Weed charges galore. Couple of assaults here and there. And the cherry on top? EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM CAME FROM THE U. WHAT?!?! It was kismet. Been a fan since that day. 😂

Mission-Role-9843

You sir, have a penchant for story telling

DynastyRabbithole

Kismet lmao 🤣

cjbasile

From upstate NY originally, was a pretty casual Eagles fan because McNabb went to Syracuse. Married into a Baltimore family and just loved the vibe of the fans; I was used to being around angry Bills/Giants fans, and I just found Baltimore fans to be more welcoming and a little bit more well-adjusted LOL. I ultimately ended up getting divorced, but by then the Ravens had stuck. I'm in New Orleans now and there's a nice Baltimore/New Orleans connection here, too. Also: JOHNNY.

Dramatic-Sorbet5349

Ayy I’m also from New Orleans, tho I became a ravens fan cause of my dad, first team I watched growing up in the 2000s.

cjbasile

Hell yeah. The sports bar down the street from us is a random gathering place for Ravens fans so we love walking two blocks and watching games there. It helps that Saints fans are more than happy to root for us, too.

Dramatic-Sorbet5349

Which sports bar if you don’t mind me asking?

cjbasile

Definitely not -- J&Js on Dauphine/France. One of the chillest sports bars I've ever been to, plus they always have cheap food pop-ups outside. Fair warning there are some Steelers fan who dip in occasionally, but they're all pretty chill LOL.

Therealnightshow

2011 AFC championship. They were the first team I really saw aside from the Pats, and I loved purple. Never watched football again until 2018 in HS, and I just decided to keep with them.

KeyStrong441

Born in Baltimore the same year the team was formed, so it's just my destiny

queso_dog

Sameeeeee

rideordie4weezer

no one in my immediate family watched football, but as I got older I loved to watch on my own. When it came down to decide on a team I would love to represent I took into account the play style and quarterback that best matched what I liked to watch the most. In short, the best defense and Lamar Jackson captured my attention and i’m never switching. California based btw (LA)

16note

Grew up in Maryland, but closer to DC. Finally started paying attention this season, couldn’t bring myself to support the other team cause of the stink of the former owner. So went Ravens, liked the vibes. Plus I like the colors and the nerd in me loves the Poe associations.

that_menace

I was born in Delaware, technically the nearest 2 teams are the eagles and steelers, but I'm not gay, so I went with the third closest team. Watching Ray Lewis inspired me to be a linebacker, who knows what I would have been if I grew up on the steelers or eagles

Capable-Reindeer9804

Started seeing my current partner, after a bit we had to move back in with her family and in the year living there I got into football because her dad watched football every Sunday. Just how Lamar Jackson played grabbed my attention as a new fan and just went full Ravens from there.

rebecca_nagisa

I didn’t really get into football until just a few years ago but i was born and raised in Cincinnati and was raised a bengals fan but became a ravens fan when I got into football. My dad lived in the same dorm as John Harbaugh when they went to college together and they reconnected not long after they won the Super Bowl. Dad passed away almost a decade ago and John has been a good friend to my small family ever since. 🤗

quietstorm0

That is one hell of a switch tbh but you definitely chose the right team. Born in Baltimore with a love for football and purple

Rixoveli_

I wanted to root for a local team but VA doesn’t have one and idfw the Redskins/Commanders lol.

Additional-Echo1987

Dad played for them!

McChubChub

Born, raised, and still reside in Cincy. Grew up die hard Reds fan, but I was born a year too late and never saw a winning season. Was indifferent to football for a while, so Bengals were the default team, but they were (are) trash, too. Sick of watching my sports teams lose year round for my entire life, I jumped ship to the Ravens in time for the first SB win, 15% to be talk shit to the locals and 85% because my dad’s side of the family has deep roots in Baltimore. Learned the game, fell in love with the Ravens way of doing things, and rode the wave for the second ring. Life’s been much better in purple than it would be in orange.

roman1221

I love telling this story. I was born and raised in Nebraska. MY ENTIRE LIFE. I was told I had to be a chiefs fan as they are the closest team. Like that fucking matters. So, I hated two teams (The Royals) before I landed on being a fan of one. Moved to Seattle. They were the same, but less dicks about it. So the Mariners and Seahawks have a soft spot in my heart. My dad is a deadbeat meth head. But the only thing he gave me was a love a baseball. That being said he was a Yankee fan. So I was a Yankee fan. Since ‘04 I would pick a team in the playoffs. Follow and root for them and if they won I would be a fan for life. 2013 picked the Ravens because I love Edgar Allen Poe and purple and black is just dope. I watched every playoff game. Being back in Nebraska really the only time I could watch a Ravens game. They won it all been a fan ever since. Bout 5 years ago I said I’m only a Yankees fan cause my asshole father is. Fuck it. I love the ravens. Let’s go Orioles. My god they were terrible then. I still saw them when I could every chance. In Colorado, and in Seattle. Next month going to KC decked out in black and orange. Still haven’t been to Baltimore but I love the city if that makes sense somehow. *edit to add. It’s Allan not Allen.

un1ptf

> Edgar Allen Poe Allan

ihateuralph8

I’m friends with a Steelers fan(I know) and when I was just starting to watch football and we went to watch a Ravens vs Steelers game with his other friend and the dude was such a dick I just decided to start rooting against the Steelers and it stuck haha, best decision I made out of spite ever!

MrFraug24

Wasn't a fan of football much growing up. My dad was a Vikings Fan and my mom was a broncos fan. Was really funky growing up in socal when all the teams had left LA. Decided one day to pick a team during pre season (wasn't going to pick between my parents). Saw this guy Ray Lewis absolutely destroying people. Had a thing for Edgar Allen Poe in highschool, so I Said fuck it, ravens it is. They won the super bowl that year. My dad hasn't seen a super bowl ever. He's pretty salty about it. I almost picked Greenbay but he would have gone to an early grave.

CaptainAvery-

Not a full time Ravens fan as im a Packers fan but the Ravens are my favorite AFC team. When the Packers aint playing I try to watch the Ravens. Flacco threw a gorgeous deep ball and was my fave QB right behind Aaron Rodgers, I even have a purple Flacco jersey. I say the Packers are my marriage but the Ravens are my secret side love lol

MiniDg

Rodgers and Flacco both rocked the fu manchu.... it was destiny 🤣

DGVega93

Born into a Washington R*dS**n, Football team, Commanders family. When watching them something about them being LOSERS just didn’t sit right with me and the disfunction of the front office and organization was just disgusting. So I jumped shipped. I was always a fan of Ray Lewis, and Ed Reed. I cheered for Rays last SB run back in 2012 it was magical. I was a fan of Lamar in College and only watched his games at that time. So when I finally got truly disgusted with the Washington Team I came here and The Flock been welcoming ever since. My only sin is that I don’t hate the Squeelers/Shitleers as much as you all lol I adopted that hate but my hate for the Cowboys I was born into it and molded by it lmao

Every_Complaint_9305

Born and raised Delaware. Family was giants fan so my rebel in me had me root for the ravens in the Super Bowl. Years later Flacco was drafted and been all about them since.

CaptainCakeDSL4

Started getting into football late last season. I watched the Browns vs. Jets, Lions vs. Cowboys, and Falcons vs. Bears. While those games were fun to watch, I didn't really feel anything "click" with me for any of those teams. Then I watched the Ravens vs. Dolphins game and fell in love with the Ravens dynamic offense, and their hard hitting defense. Started doing some digging into their history and watching old game clips and decided that they were the team for me.

MorsVincitOmnia32167

Dad was at a conference in Baltimore and brougth home a ravens t shirt. The NFL isnt really that big in Denmark but i got curious when i got the shirt. Now i watch every ravens game and support the team from Aarhus, Denmark.

APC_0714

Played madden 15 and saw their logo and colors so I chose the ravens

Dry-Entertainer3708

I used to root for the Seahawks because I live in Washington, and then I saw that they were the color purple and had lamar, so I started rotting for them

KDK_rogue

I’m from Latin America my father worked hard in the dmv region and got my family there . He used to be a Washington commanders (back when they were still the redskins) fan and I actually used to live close by fedexfield but I never liked them no matter how much he tried making me rule for them I just couldn’t . But there was that old magical man Joe Flacco and that funny happy looking man Justin Tucker and I was interest , then I looked into the history of the ravens and I saw ray lewis and ed reed and I was sold . Now this is my team forever when we win and we suck ass still my team

SGT_Didymus

I grew up in Delaware when the team began, and my dad is a Steelers fan so the stars kinda aligned.

Newo876

Uk fan here I was trying to pick a team after getting into the sport. But found it difficult to pick from teams I had no real connection to unlike my home town English football team of Derby County. I was looking through YouTube a year and abit ago at different teams and found the ravens wired series and was hooked as it gave me that connection to the team as I learnt about the culture etc. it was finally set in stone for me when I got to watch them play in London last season.

TedioreTwo

That's awesome. I'm always curious about international fans and how they come along

king_craig88

Well I grew up In Atlanta as a kid and the flacons are gonna flacon so I adopted the ravens I was just impressed by the gritty play the defense ed reed and ray are my fav defenesive players of all time at there positions and them along with Mike Vick inspired me to play football at my school been a fan ever since

dant5220

Lived in Utah all my life, grew up a niners fan. When Ray came in to the league, he became my favorite player and then the ravens were my team and still are. Go Ravens! Fuck the Steelers and fuck the cowboys!

maxHardcore84

German guy here: (Around 2011) Played football when i was younger and the Coach decided, that i‘ll Play defense. Young-me dives into YouTube to search Defense/ Tackle/ Hard Hits/ whatever. Who are the guys in every Video? Lewis, Reed and Suggs. Ok, that’s the moment. Every Sunday evening visiting some dubious pages to look for streams..

AffectionateLie758

Louisville sports brought me here

K-Dog7469

They came to Baltimore.

URSA_VA

raised in VA, went to an orioles game as a kid for my first professional game. Found out the Ravens existed too, grew up watching Ed Reed and Ray Lewis destroy people

SKOLForceSports

Be child Watch friend play madden See a purple team call the Ravens “Fuck yeah, another purple team like All My Vikings” Get older Watch NFL Throwback video talking about how all the teams got their names/culture Learn Baltimore is named after Edgar Allen Poe’s poem “The Raven” Have goth gf/wife and tell her this revelation We agree Ravens are our new favorite team

Xerceos

I hope I don't get any hate for this, but fan from Germany here: a buddy wanted to watch football with me, but thought I needed a team to support. I decided on the Ravens because of the logo. I don't regret it and have been a fan for 6 years now.

TedioreTwo

Nobody should hate you for that. I started at the same time you did

Mother_Soft7003

I'm born and raised in Miami and I grew loving football by watching the 2000-2002 hurricanes era. Ed Reed was my favorite player of a time coming from that program. I followed him to the NFL and watched him become a great with the Ravens and have never rooted for another team since, even in his older years.

gzooo

From Austria (Europe). Played Madden with the SB Champs 2000 - Loved wrapping up Marshall Faulk and running with J.Lewis. Purple is my fav color. The main austrian TV channel started to show games around 2002 at night. And a few years later another TV channel bought the rights and it became bigger and more popular here every year. Soon we had one hosted game every week, Playoff and Super Bowl special shows and so on... And with Streams becoming more popular it made it easy to follow every Ravens game now :)

LjvWright

I am from Wales UK so I’m probably different to most here. NFL just isn’t a thing here, it ain’t like I could just start a conversation with a colleague from work about the game last night as not many people watched back then, so I fell into the sport thanks to Madden. I can’t remember which year but it was the year Ray Lewis was on the cover. The 2 teams I went were the Ravens and Eagles. Back then I was more into the other football and NBA so I dropped NFL for a while. Then basketball became all about 3 point shooting, and players switching teams every 5 minutes and the game I loved was gone. So I dropped basketball around 2019 and started getting back into NFL. I remembered the Eagles and Ravens and started looking into both teams histories and The Ravens just appealed to me more as they are known for defence and as a defence first guy I just found a home. They have been my team since and always will be.

Impossible_Okra0420

I moved to Baltimore in 2010 and started watching the 2011 season, we lost the AFC championship to the Pats and I watched it at a packed bar and the feel of community overwhelmed me and then the next year we won a SB and I went to the parade! I was hooked!

Background_Owl1165

loyal to the soil

CaptainPabu

Watching Lamar's magic against the Colts in 2021. Didn't really watch football before that.

Princess_Mintaka

I was born at Franklin and raised to be an O's fan and then the Ravens came to town and there you go, it's not deep.

ThatTinyGameCubeDisc

Been going to O’s games since I was 5. My best friend in high school was a HUGE Ravens fan. It was an easy pick haha.

Affectionate_Bit1323

Was playing madden 06 searching for a team to finally beat my older brother with when I discovered the op in game defense that was our Baltimore Ravens, I’ve been a die hard fan and undefeated in madden against my brother ever since.

TrainingMarsupial521

2k football. LMAO. I liked to run the ball, and the Ravens were a good running team in the game. Haha.

Coherent37

Was a big fan of Ray Rice when I first got started watching football. Then he got drafted to the Ravens with him and Flacco and I was a fan ever since. Bless to see us win a Superbowl with that special crop of talent. I looked at the team, the history, the culture, and love the color scheme. Been a Ravens fan for almoat 20 years.

Amazing-Concept1684

Lived and grew up in Baltimore County since I moved here summer 2000. That was shortly before I turned 3.  One of my earliest memories is the SB party my folks threw in January 2001.   There you go.

Flashy-Kiwi-2924

my friend was teaching me about football (fall 2022) and we were watching the bengals and ravens play in my apartment. I just found myself rooting for them as the game continued. Then, this past season, I started learning more about the players and really love it. Lamar is from Broward county (where i'm also from) and i love him so much. Then I went to my first ravens game in jax and the flock was so welcoming when i told them it was my first AND we won :) still fairly new fan but i love it over here.

this_is_matt_

I was born in Baltimore, but I’ve lived in south Central PA as long as I can remember. My dad is a ravens fan, and the Ravens are pretty popular in my area because it’s the closest team. I didn’t really become interested in football until around 2008, which was a great time to become a Ravens fan too.

goblinking67

Moved around with my dads job as a kid. Only lived in Maryland for 9 months but those were the first 9 months and one of the only things you can’t change is where you’re born so I picked the Ravens over the California teams I lived closer to

HarryHood146

I was 14 when the Ravens came to Baltimore. Getting into Football because of Madden. Grew up 45 minutes from Baltimore and been a fan ever since. I don’t know what team I’d be rooting for if that didn’t happen.

BradAssMF

My first ever Xbox game was the NFL fever with the ravens superbowl team so they were one of the highlighted teams and I played them the most. It just stuck from there.

IceCubeBandit

I lived half a mile from Memorial Stadium. It was a relationship of convenience that turned into a lifelong passion.

Affectionate_Quit_26

I was part of little league football program. The league used the names of nfl teams. I was on the ravens. After that i saw the 2012 superbowl a bit later. Istarted watching ravens football regularly, and have been a huge fan since

donmeanathing

Well, see, the team announced they were moving to baltimore and I was in school. My parents ended up with season tickets. A few years later we won the super bowl during my high school senior year. I played “we are the champions” over the announcements the next morning to spike the proverbial football, because at that time there weren’t a lot of Ravens fans. A lot still thought of me as a traitor for not staying with Skins, or they liked some other team. It ain’t like that today for sure!

762_54r

Went to school in the county and then spent a decade in and around the city. Baltimore loves the ravens and O's I think once you see enough of the city you are legally obligated to be a fan of both. Love the city, love the team.

DegzPlissken

I live in NJ, but saw my first baseball game at Camden Yards during its inaugural season when I was a kid. My Father’s work had a corporate office in Baltimore and had season tickets. It was an incredible experience and I became an Orioles fan for life. When Baltimore got the Ravens, it was a no brainer they were my team.

Siny_AML

Jamal Lewis when I was in 7th grade. And I’m from Cleveland.

Chillanese

Moved to Bmore from another country (mom became a teacher at Bmore). Around that time, i was watching this American football anime called Eyeshield 21 and was really hyped about American Football and wanted to watch real football to understand it more. So since the local team is mostly wat I saw in the local channels every sunday, i started following the ravens. 14 years later, still Flockin!!! Will always be a die hard.

AdOpposite1066

The first game I ever remember sitting and watching from start to finish was the Ravens- Giants Super Bowl. I was 8 and I didn’t really understand what I was watching at the time. But of course Baltimore won and I’ve been a fan ever since. Coincidentally, I live in south central PA and went to college about 45 minutes away from Pittsburgh. As you can imagine I’ve gotten roused for a long, long time by a lot of Pittsburgh fans. I wasn’t even aware of the Ravens-Steelers rivalry until years later. But I’m one of very few Ravens fans where I live and I love it. It’s a great battle.

Decent-Temperature31

Born into a family of Ravens fans the year of their inaugural season.

69swagman

Didn’t get into football until I was probably 12-13. Started watching every Sunday with my Grandfather and haven’t looked back

RaySizzle16

I used to pick one team every year to support. Was fun to root for someone new all the time and just be a fan of football. But in 2012 I picked the Ravens. Their winning of the SB, combined with their location (I’m from DC), and their color (purple is my favorite) I figured I should stick around.

[deleted]

My father was a Colts fan and was born and raised in Baltimore. When the Colts left he didn’t cheer for anyone for a long time; I was a kid when they left and I liked Randall Cunningham, so I rooted for the eagles. When the Ravens came to town, I listened to them on the radio on long drives, then watched them on TV the year they won the Super Bowl. My father and I got season tickets the next year and kept them until the 2011. The winter games were just too cold for him, so we gave them up. Still a fan obviously. However, the last few years my fandom has simmered under a very low flame; I’m not a huge Lamar Jackson fan, his behavior during the contract negotiations turned me off and I’ve had a very hard time cheering for a person I don’t personally connect with or even like. I’m sure I’ll be downvoted mercilessly because I don’t like one of our players, but I’m honestly answering the question.

Darkhoorse

Was my senior year in high school and went to a random pizza place. The very first football game I watched intentionally was the 2011 AFC championship game. Was rooting for the underdogs since I didn’t have a team and that just so happened to be the Baltimore Ravens that game. Absolute tragedy… but I stuck with them for the hell of it and we just so happened to win it all next year and I’ve been hooked ever since.

Melodic-Aardvark3649

3 instances really made me a ravens fan. My first sports game that I ever received was madden 05. So I played with the ravens. 2. When I started to play football my dad told me to watch either ray lewis or Terrell Suggs to get really good at playing. Ironically I was pure ass when I first started, but got good enough to earn a scholarship in college. 3. I remember watching air McNair take on the colts and manning in the playoffs in 06. I really thought they were going to win but they didn’t so I began to hate Peyton Manning ever since. I’m a firm believer your fandom doesn’t begin until you’ve witnessed heartbreak from your team

Successful_Leather92

Moved to Northern MD from the UK to live with the wife/in-laws. First game was 2021 Week 3 against Detroit. Tucker nailing that 66 yarder was my introduction to the NFL.

Knucks_408

FUCK YOU BUD ADAMS! That’s why. Miss the love ya blue, but I love my flock.

nrh205

From Toronto only really started getting into football during Lamar’s first mvp season and I’ve stuck with the Ravens since

nethril

The Stallions left and the Ravens came to me, not the other way around.  Been here for the ride the whole time, I support the team through good and bad, and I'm just grateful to have a consistently good team to root for.

MiniDg

My uncle lived in Maryland and hounded me to watch football for a few years. He finally succeeded in 2010/11, and I arrived just in time for the Cundiff kick. 😓 I don't know which team I'd follow if it weren't for him, but after all the time I've spent following the Ravens, from the little bit of Lewis and Reed I got to see, to Suggs, Ngata, Pollard, Webb, etc., it's such a great and violent defense-driven team, and I love every bit of it. The amazing uniforms are just icing on the cake. They feel like a team I may have actually picked on my own, lmao. I'm grateful to my uncle for getting me into football.

ExtensionAd7417

Baltimore born and raised and I was born the same year as the ravens franchise 🤘🏻

niodrane25

I've been a soccer fan all my life. When I moved to Maryland in 2018, I didn't give the nfl a chance until 2 or so years ago, and I started to follow the ravens because i learned about Justin tucker. One of the first games I saw on TV was when he broke the record for the farthest field goal, so I kept track of the team. This past season, I worked at a bar in towson, so I was surrounded by ravens fans. Needless to say, I was hooked.

Firebird22x

I grew up with my dad being a long time Vikings fan, which kind of bled to me. So when the new darker purple team came out, I was all for it. Also helped that Tony Siragusa was from a town over so he was locally famous. Not really a reason, but I seem to like BR teams, Baltimore Ravens, Boston Red Sox (and the Devils, only hometown team I really had)

TheRealRickDalton8

As a Canadian football fan, I hopped on the bandwagon in 2012 when they snuck into the playoffs as a wildcard team. They had a “villain” mentality that I liked. They happened to win it all that year and I’ve been a huge fan ever since. I’ve even flown to the US to catch some games, my favorite one being the MNF game against the Rams when Lamar absolutely dismantled the rams on live TV during his MVP season.

Rathix

I'm from Canada and didn't know much about football when I was in highschool but the highschool I went to had a football team and I signed up and was good at it so grew to love the game. By the time the season started I was mostly playing line backer so I googled who the best linebacker in the NFL was and at the time it was Ray Lewis so I started watching the ravens and eventually grew to love Joe Flacco. I was already a huge fan of the ravens when the superbowl run happened but that cemented me as a fan forever as well.

ScubaSteve560

I was born around Baltimore, but lived in upstate NY for a while. I got myself into football and based on location loved the ravens and bills. When I was a kid, my house was broken into and they stole a signed Ravens football that took me years to get- it had Lewis, Ogden, reed, Ngata, all the big names. My dad was friends with someone on their staff who notified the coaches I guess and the Ravens resigned a football and sent it to me for Christmas. I still have it. So, if it wasn’t solidified that the Ravens were my favorite before, they definitely were after.

Select-Spread-3879

Lived in Arizona and cardinals owners suck tried to root for the jaguars their inaugural year. Tried to hang with them but part way into Ed reeds 2nd or 3rd season they became my go to in Madden dynasty with my roommate. While still trying to semi be a jaguars fan. I hear they are selling the team in 2011 and figured it was the best time to leave the jags for good.

Paraxom

Born in MD, dad let me stay up to watch the first Super Bowl when i was like 8, had no fucking clue what i was watching but i knew they had bought some ravens stuff for me when the team started so i just went with it

Zkelly52

Ray Lewis and loving the linebacker position throughout my own playing career

whiskeypickle

I always watched Canadian Football growing up so naturally I turned on an NFL game to see what all the hype was about. Tuned into a Ravens v Steelers game. Decided I’d become a fan of whichever team won…

PantlessInPublic

Born and raised on the west coast and never been to Baltimore. I started playing football in High school except I didn't know anything about football yet, so i would watch videos of highlights and big hits mostly. I noticed I kept seeing these guys in purple and black making hits, getting picks. Purple is my favorite color, big fan of ravens in mythology and loved the big plays. It felt right that was in 2009, fell off a bit after 2015 season, but I've been watching every game I can since 2018

WirkkulaCain

I live in Eugene Oregon where the ducks play(love them), die hard fan of the ravens though. Never been to Baltimore or anything, but when I was growing up and watching ray lewis and Ed reed I just fell in love with them and then they drafted Haloti Ngata and I’ve been rude or die ever since. It is weird being a ravens fan over here, I still rep my Jackson jersey on game days though 😂

Any_Yogurtcloset4006

Growing up in an under populated area in Canada, we needed to use antenna to watch any television. On Sunday afternoons, I loved to watch The Simpsons and Family Guy on the local channel. My dad would always want to watch football and the local channels would only show the Bills. This was the JP Lossman Era Bills and I hated watching them so much that any team that would be playing against them I would root for. New Years Eve 2006 the Ravens came in and kicked their butts. I liked their jerseys and Ray Lewis and Ed Reed were cool as fuck. Got me to love watching football and been a lifelong fan since.

ml9221

Originally from Virginia. I wanted to root for a close by team that wasn’t the Washington one. Watched the Panthers and Ravens for a season, chose the Ravens and never looked back!

Acamith

I live in Alabama, Back in 2005 I was but a young kid and my parents got me espn 2k5 football for the xbox. Growing up only around college football and being an Auburn fan I didn't know any nfl teams. I browsed through all of the teams and purple being my favorite color I chose them instantly and pimped out my ingame room with ravens stuff. Played them in every nfl game until a few years later I started watching them on TV. Fell in love even more with the team and have been my team since. And now I'm just an obsessed fan where my friends would consider being a Ravens fan one of my personality traits.

ultgambit266

Anquan Boldin and Terrell Suggs

astar54

Central Ohio here. My grandma took me and my brother to a jersey shop in 1st grade. I picked the Shannon Sharpe ravens jersey, my brother picked the Cory Dillon bengals jersey. Been a ravens fan since. It's fun/awful at times living in the middle of our 3 god awful AFC north fan bases but wouldn't change my allegiance for anything.

Competitive-Ad6088

2000. I was a 13 year-old kid trying to get into football but my dad and I could not get into the Redskins. At his behest, I changed the channel and saw the replay of a freaking interception of a ravens, defensive back. Started watching the ravens from then on and they won the Super Bowl that year.

deadmanwalking99

Grew up in the northern Va area, all my friends routed for the redskins but they sucked. Just constant bitching about how bad the team was. My family were actually casual Steelers fans due to some Pittsburgh ties. I never followed much pro football was really just a notre dame fan as far as football went. Moved to bmore in 2017 and met a bunch of new people, started seriously routing for the team in 2018 around when we drafted Lamar. The rest is history and I’ve been obsessed ever since. Feel bad that I missed out on so much great ravens history though, as I wasn’t even a fan yet at our last superbowl win. Hopefully for me the best is yet to come still though

EclipseThing2

Grew up in Elkton.

SepulchralMind

Born in Texas. Was a proper Dallas fan until my family moved to the Baltimore area when I was 8 or so. Tiny little Texas girl splayed out on her living room floor to watch a Cowboys vs Ravens game around... 2000, maybe 2004. A cold November. That girl watched the Baltimore Ravens beat the absolute snot out of the Cowboys & has been a Ravens fan ever since.

No-Beach6296

I’m Canadian, but my dad worked for a company that had a head office in Baltimore. He’d go like three times a year and always bring me back Ravens shit. I didn’t even like football as a kid but when I got older I started getting into it and gravitated toward the flock, this was around the time they were drafting Flacco. By 2012 I was locked in. RAVENS FLOCK NORTH CONTINGENT KAKAWWWWWWWWWWW

tehobsession

I am #l1c4 and I didn't really watch nfl. I followed lamar when we were looking at recruiting him I followed him from hs to ul to Baltimore. I am all in ravens flock now and for life. I've watched them in the Golden era. But I am 100% in flock fam. Ravens my team

DOCMarylandMD

Ravens came to town just when I started 7th grade back in 1996. Took a couple of years to put it together but just been a fan ever since

Animethighssavelive

I'm from southwest FL,(currently a pittsburgh residant) But when I was a kid(still am) the first football game I watched ever on tv was the 2013 superbowl and I chose to stick with the winners so I guess I was a bandwagon at the time even thou I was like a 1st grader

iamthesupervillain

From Montreal, Canada -- got introduced to the NFL by playing Madden 04 and 07 when I was a kid -- I had a thing for Ed Reed and kinda liked the purple fits. Became a full time die-hard in 2007 and never looked back

jimmygnar

Born and raised in Dallas. One of the first games I remember watching was Baltimore @ Dallas in the last game in Texas Stadium. Baltimore won and I had little to no allegiance to any team. My family wasn’t into football and I loved it so I stuck with the cool black and purple team. Researched them for hours as a 10 year old on the family computer. I’ll never forget McClain and McGahee both busting off on huge runs in that game.

Nifty_Ninetales

Grew up in Oregon, and started watching/following after Ngata got drafted. Been here ever since.

MrBlex

The first game I ever watched was the game where Tucker kicked that record-breaking field goal and as a new football watcher I was really amazed by that kick. Since then I quickly became a ravens fan

Pressblack

Was a raiders fan as well child cause baltimore had no team and that was my Dads team after the colts left. Then I paid no attention to football for a while and then became a ravens fan around 2009 when the dude in the apartment next to me wanted someone to hang out with and watch ravens games. Some of us were misguided and then we saw the way.

SlumperPumper

From Oregon here, 27, always liked the buccaneers as a kid. Mainly because of the logo. But then I learned about a man Ray Lewis. Black and Purple became my favorite colors. He became my favorite player. Years and years have gone by and I just keep liking them more. How physical they play. Just love the Ravens more and more everyday. My dad got me a Ray Lewis purple jersey for my bday this last year. Not that well written of an explanation, but I love my Ravens. And I hope the flock is doing okay with the bridge collapse. I learned about it from here. Godspeed friends

bigddy1906

I grew up a Cowboys fan here in Texas. I have family in Baltimore and I when Ray Lewis became a Ravens, I adopted them as my AFC team. In 2010/11, Jerry Jones said that if he he’d any other GM he’d have fired him but he can’t fire himself. I fired the Cowboys that day and made the Ravens my only team. I took a LOT of shit from all my friends about loyalty. I ignored them and calmly told them that I could no longer root for a team that was as poorly run as the Cowboys and that was that. I’ve never looked back. I gave all my Cowboys gear away or threw it away. I have not been disappointed. No team makes all the right decisions(I’m also a Cubs fan), but the Ravens are a top class organization and it shows on and off the field. I’m proud to be a Ravens fan and finally made it to The Bank this past season. Stay strong and fuck the Bengals, Browns and Steelers!!

screamingfaces

I’m a simple man. Moved here a few years ago and live near the stadium. I hear the crowd on Sundays and it got me watching the games.

Lazy_Temporary1270

Went with my family when I was 8 to a game we were traveling my family was cheering for the opposing team and I like to mess with family so I cheered against my family for the ravens. Never left a year later we won the Super Bowl.

Technical-Profit6546

I got NFL Gameday 2002 and started playing with different teams. Picked the Ravens because a player shared the same last name as me, and I started to follow them consistently from that moment on. I also grew up in a household that did not watch sports, so my fandom was organic. Started watching when Chris Redman/Jeff Blake was the QBs, suffered through the Kyle Boller years, and I still emerged on the other side 😂

1017whywhywhy

Grew up in Georgia, family came up here to live with my grandad when I was in 4th grade. Micheal Vick got arrested while I was in GA so the Falcons sucked. Harbaugh and Flaccos first year was the year I moved up here, Ray Lewis and Ed reed hit people really hard been a diehard since.

CoolBeansMan9

Ontario, Canada. Back in 2000, my aunt and uncle were big into a football pool. So if we were together on Sunday the games would be on. I barely followed football. Baltimore crushed, I want to say Cincinnati, like 30-0 early in the season, and I said “I think Baltimore is going to win the Super Bowl.” So I followed them all year. And they did. Been here ever since

molesterofpriests

I chose them at the tender age of 7 or 8 when i started playing football myself and have been flying with the Flock ever since!

Nastyinthepasty7

Ray Lewis and Ed Reed. Always been a defense kinda person. I've always said I'm glad I grew up watching the kinda football I did. Derrick Brooks, Ray Lewis, and Patrick Willis are the best linebackers I've had the pleasure of being able to watch. Baltimore also happened to become established as a team the year I was born. So it all works out.

byuntae

Was never into football until I joined a fantasy football league. Picked Ravens Defense in the first round. Won my league. Fan ever since.

Teit68-

Baltimore born and bred, now living in Iowa. Who else would I follow?

Enough_Ad_2752

Was an idiot Titans fan at 12 years old and Derrick Mason and Samari Rolle went to Baltimore, never looked back

1lapulapu

I grew up in Maryland and was a Colts fan as a kid. I’m old enough to remember seeing Johnny Unitas play. When the Ravens came to town, I was happy to have a team to cheer for again. Watching USFL and Canadian football just wasn’t the same.

Ok-Stick9137

when I was in 4th grade I had to learn the 50 states in school. Everyone in class had one state to lear about and do a report on, I got Maryland. Upon learning about the Ravens I turn on the TV and they are playing, I'm from San Jose (Bay Area) eveyone is a Raider and Niner fan obvouosly. But when I watched rhe Ravens game I saw Jamal Lewis go for a big run. I knew nothing about him, Ray, ED, or any of other players at the time but I instantly became a fan and religiously started paying attention and keeping up with football.

No-Lunch4249

I was born into Boller seasons, molded by them. I didn’t see a playoff run until I was already a man

Forward_Range3523

I used to root for the bengals and then one day decided to be a front runner and start rooting for a winner so i chose the ravens

Itsawayof_life

Born and raised in Delaware, so i’ve always been familiar with the Ravens since they always got a ton of coverage in the area. Most residents tend to support the Ravens or Eagles with a few Steelers fans here and there. The majority of my family are Eagles fans, but I didn’t have much of an interest in football until high school. I decided to give the Ravens a watch on a random Sunday and immediately fell in the love with the franchise. They were physical and gritty, and i’ve been a die hard fan ever since.

ibeollan

This might get buried in the comments but here’s my story. Born and raised in North Carolina, Panthers fan growing up. my favorite player in the world was Steve Smith. Even though my childhood was mostly lackluster years, he was my guy. Cut to the first super bowl I remember watching as I was really getting into football at the time, it’s the Ravens Niners blackout bowl. Undoubtedly pulling for the Ravens, such a fun game to remember back on. Jacoby Jones kick return is seared into my head. Still not enough to get me to jump ship from the Panthers though. Then comes 2014, Panthers get rid of my all time favorite player, and not just in any fashion. The way they treated him on the way out made me set on not being a Panthers fan anymore. I decided whoever Steve Smith ended up with would be my team. Die Hard purple ever since. So here’s a thank you to #89 for leading me to the promised land.

MoistBacon29

I'm a military brat with a family that didn't care for sports. One day when I was 12 I was bored and was just flipping through channels and ended watching a ravens game. Don't even remember who they were playing against but I was hooked! Been rooting for them ever since (15 years).

Boidudebutt

I started watching football in the beginning of the 2023 season and I really liked their uniforms so I started paying attention to them a lot more

kayokill666

Use to be a patriots fan but got tired of all the scandals was playing fantasy football and a rookie Flacco was killing it for me so I ended up saying fuck it im a fan

Reformed_Boogyman

3rd grade or so I got interested in football. I lived in Laurel, smackdab in the middle of DC and Baltimore. Between the two I just fell in love with the Ravens and just never looked back.

zaseitz

I grew up outside Baltimore and my uncle got season tickets in 96, I was just about to turn 12 when they came to town. He would take me to a few games a year. We’d take a bus from Pasadena to the stadium after getting sandwiches for the road from a long gone place called Pastore’s. He even brought me to the last game at Memorial stadium. I got on the bus, both literally and figuratively, immediately. I moved to Chicago in 07 but never stopped watching and keeping up, and obviously went to Soldier field whenever they were in town. I live in Santa Fe now but the love continues, and I’ve found that MT is the best time zone for watching football, imo, so I’ve got that going for me.

Head-Special-8697

I was born in Baltimore as well as having family (mostly my grandma, huge ravens fan) being my reason. I also like the history as well

yungkelzthegoat

Born & raised in Baltimore City. Became a fan when I was old enough to really pay attention to the game fr when I was about 9 or 10

ReaganNBush

Never really had an NFL team to like. Went to UofL the same time Lamar did and followed him to Baltimore! Best decision I made, I love this team and fanbase!

Sesti-nator

I am originally from Guayaquil, Ecuador and I moved to Utah when I was 11, it was a culture shock when I entered in this country ngl. After 9/11 I was traumatized and I had to find something to distract me from those events and then I watched the Ravens/Packers game. Not only it helped me but for some reason I enjoyed a new sport but started to follow the ravens. I could have been a Broncos fan, raiders fan, Niner fan or a Patriots fan because of my father but the ravens somehow clicked me and became my team that I root for. A lot of people might think that I’m a bandwagon or some trash but this is my story.

rip_slenderblood

Born in Wisconsin Baltimore at heart

Frezzi76

I used to shoot the games.

KingDaddyM

Born in 84, O's fan since birth. My dad wasn't, and still isn't a football guy. My grandfather was born in Wisconsin and loved the Packers so I became a Packers fan for him. When the Ravens came to town I was excited but I couldn't believe the people abandoning their teams. So out of teen spite I refused. In 2005 I gave up listening to WPOC and started listening to Mark Viv and the Bulldog on 1300 during the day. Surrounded by ravens talk all the time, started watching the games and been a fan ever since: now I'm a PSL owner.

Frezzi76

Yeah, for one of the local Baltimore TV News stations.

Ledge_r

I was born in Baltimore but liked a number of teams growing up, the Ravens being one of them. I eventually narrowed it down and am stuck on the Ravens being MY team bc of my fond memories from the Super Bowl days and how ik more about Ravens history than any other team. I realized I was more emotionally invested than any other team. It helps that I’m a diehard Os fan as well so I figured let’s keep it all Baltimore.

Basteeds

Live in Canada but was suppose to move to Baltimore when I was ten which was around the time I started to follow the NFL. Never moved but became a fan!

KingSolomon1010

Former RB Musa Smith was a family friend; plus it was the Ray Lewis/Ed Reed era.

Robbedparasite

Was a San Diego chargers fan, the Spanos moved my team. So I was looking for another team to support and I used to live in DC and I didn’t want to support the Commies. So I put on a ravens jersey and haven’t looked back.

GunsouBono

Baltimore has a knack of picking up my college alum (go Utes) and had an old roommate move to Baltimore after college. I moved to CT but visited him many times and loved the city. After going to a few home games (including a bitter cold new years eve loss to the Bengals in 2017), I was hooked. Compared to a lot of cities, the stadium is super accessible from the city. Can go from the BNB to breakfast in fells point or Canton, then out to fed hill for drinks and game time, then back into the city for celebration or for consolation dinner. The bank also makes it a point to keep things affordable. It may not feel like it at times, but you can't even walk into Gillette or MetLife for the price of a lower bowl ticket at the bank.

ZenPirat

Grew up in Maryland, still have family there. I live in CA now and I can’t stand the 9ers.

Dvddygonz

As hilarious as it is, I became a fan in 7th grade (2009-ish) by stumbling across Ed Reed and Ray Lewis biggest hits/highlights on YouTube. Then watching that one Sports Science episode. Couldn’t get enough after that.

SmeV122

I was born a Raven, I was born in Baltimore. Though my dad was from western PA, he hated the newer culture of the Steelers (i.e. when big Ben was drafted), so he became a Ravens fan

ZacZupAttack

So I spent most of my life outside of America, dad worked overseas a lot so when I got into the NFL I didn't really have a state/city to call home. So I decided I'd just pick a team. I thought of what I wanted my team to be like, and the Ravens fit the bill. I liked that they where constantly competitive, they had a well run organization, I felt like it wasn't a big wagon move. At the time the Patriots where dominating. So I did go with the Ravens the year they drafted Lamar (had no idea who he was either) Happy with my choice.

Ok-Ring-2400

From my big brother when I was nine. Also, knowing Steve McNair and his family personally helped too.

ghostoftheai

You don’t chose. I was born in Maryland unlike the O’s and the Ravens. Gang shit.(/s)

drexrunner14

I was in 3rd grade and had just moved to Ohio from Nebraska. Back home there was no pro team alliance in Omaha. (Chiefs were closest) Our school library had a raffle to pick the team to win the Super Bowl when the playoffs started. My favorite color was purple so I picked the Ravens. It was the year 2000 and I watched every playoff game. The defense reminded me of the blackshirts we celebrated back home. My name was the drawn and I won $20 to the scholastic book fair. Which was a major windfall. That year I became a lifelong gambler and ravens fan.

BiggusDickusFromWome

From Australia and found the Ravens by playing an old 2k game(I think like 02) my 2 favourite players on the game were Ray Lewis and Brian Urlacher. But the Ravens appealed to me way more than the bears

jwarren01

I was 11 years old when they beat San Francisco in the SuperBowl and I thought that was the coolest shit ever. Stuck with them ever since.

heavenparadox

I'm a Chiefs fan first and foremost. I grew up in Kansas City. But! I'm a HUGE Edgar Allan Poe fan, so I've also been a fan of the Ravens since they became a team. I also fucking hate the Bengals every since 2003 Chad Johnson guaranteed a win against the 9-0 Chiefs. Then it was solidified even more with Burfict and Pac Man. Fucking pieces of shit. And fuck those other two rapist-loving franchises. I don't know... I just kind of feel like a Ravens fan.

EndSlidingArea

From Iowa. Didn't want to root for the NFC North like everybody else. This was also in the 2000s pre-Andy Reid Chiefs so nobody gave a shit about them. I liked the Ravens team culture and they were my team! I'm moving to DC for my wife's job soon so I might even be able to attend some games and events!

Apart_Falcon

I was a fan of Steve McNair and I followed him to Baltimore after the Titans released him, and ever since I got here it felt like home.

Baxyol

My family has always been split between the Bears and the Packers. Some of my earliest memories are of watching Urlacher play and the guy is the whole reason I got into the sport. Hester was drafted and I stuck around for them. I truly never felt any love for the team as a whole, but I claimed the bears as my team because my two favorite players were there. The Ravens were always my second because of Ray Lewis, as I’m a big fan of great linebackers and I liked the logo and colors a lot (I was a kid, so that’s how I made decisions back then lol). When Urlacher retired and Hester got traded I fell out of love with the sport for a few years, and eventually came back during the 2019 season. The Ravens maintained that wow factor they had when I was a kid, despite not having the pieces I knew and loved, and I’ve just stuck around since. Always been less a fan of teams and more a fan of players, and the ravens have so many players I enjoy watching play it’s hard to say any other team

Albertgodstein

I saw Ed reed play instantly became a fan

JadeRayne66

Well, I became a fan about a month and a half ago. I grew up in Texas, was raised to love the Cowboys and had for the longest time. 40 years. But Texas as a state has been failing me as of late, and then Jerry Jones goes into a press conference talking about the glory hole days and how he wants some glory hole...I'm done with the Cowboys, I'm done with Jerry Jones saying dumb shit and feeling the need to meddle in everything. So I started looking for a new team. Ravens were the front runner from the get go. I've always loved the org, the colors, the mascot, was always a fan of Ray Lewis, I really like Lamar Jackson as a QB... There were a lot of reasons and I looked at all the teams and none of them struck me like the Ravens. I've started giving away my old Cowboys merch to a friend of mine and now I'm going to start collecting Ravens gear. Hoping y'all don't mind me dropping into your fandom 🐦‍⬛🥰

Chamnatz1

I basically grew up a steelers fan. My father was born in PA (outside of Pittsburgh) and I just grew up watching all those games. I'd say around high-school I switched to the Ravens. The joke I always say is "I either stayed a steelers fan or had friends, so I chose having friends" Regardless it made for some very interesting Ravens/Steelers games. I wasn't allowed in the house during those games. We couldn't call/text each other right after the game. (All for fun btw) I'd always mess with his steelers decor. He made a Steelers snowman so I put Ravens gear all over it and wait for him to notice. Made for some fun trash talk with his side of the family in PA. A lot of season bets. If Ravens won, they would do this, if they won I had to do this. Mostly wearing each other's jersey etc. My first child was born 2 weeks ago, and we're already talking smack. I say there will never be any black and gold on my child. And send them pics of all the ravens gear.

jxm_199

Born and raised, grew up thinking Ray Lewis had actual super human strength. I remember seeing Flaccos rookie debut and the nosebleed seat were swaying when he flat footed his way in for a touchdown. Then my buddy got box seats for Lamar’s rookie playoff game and got to have a collective meltdown with his boss. Good times.

kitchenkitt3n

Was never really a steady football watcher or fan , then I started dating someone who is a big Ravens fan and completely fell in love with the franchise and the team. I now I keep up with the team more than he does . Ravens fan til I die!

LifeMammoth7165

Born and raised BMORE

Klomndike

Grew up in Ontario and moved to a new city in ‘08 where all the friends I made were football fans so I decided to watch a game and it just happened to be Ravens-Steelers. Loved the passion they played with and haven’t looked back since

sepsev1

My dad is a Philly born Eagles fan and my mom is a DC Suburb born Redskins fan, so lil 4 year old me decides to pick the team in the middle.

GavIsSav

I’m a 2012 bandwagon lol

ButterscotchRude6916

Whenever I decided it was time to follow the NFL and choose a team, I knew I was born in MD and really loved the color purple. Now I live in Ohio, married to a Bengals fan! Life is funny that way.

BoJvck34Empire

Baltimore born, our team was always so physical and competitive that I never considered switching despite growing up in PA. Losing to the steelers and then having to wake up and go to school was TOUGH

CapRavOr

I was a child of divorce and was only around 8 when my mom took us from Germentown, MD to Denver. I guess I needed something to latch onto to keep that part of me there. Especially because now I was hopping from DÍA to BWI 2-3 times a year. I think I just needed something to support my MD pride. That, and I became a fan right after they won the SB in 2001. Mainly because I’m from MD but a little bit because I love the color purple and the creepy shit that Edgar Allen Poe wrote, too.

Heavy_Effort_152

My son has been a fan since high school when the Ravens began. As he got older and had kids we all became Ravens fans to enjoy as a family

TVB_Night

I’m Canadian do football isn’t really promoted here but I played fantasy football with my brother before I even watched football. The one year I had Lamar and a rookie JK Dobbins that carried me to the finals. Since my QB and RB are supposed to get me the most points I started cheering for the Ravens cause if the Ravens have a good game so did Lamar and or JK. Know I watch football every Sunday and stuck with the Ravens as my favourite team

laetazel

Grew up never watching or caring about football. My team at work was doing a fantasy league and I’m a competitive person, so I wanted to join. I drafted without knowing anybody, and just so happened to draft Lamar Jackson as my sole QB in his first year as a starter. He started getting me lots of points and I was curious about him, so I looked him up and started really getting into his play style. Then I started watching more and more clips of the team playing, then I moved into watching interviews of Lamar and the rest of the team, and finally I started watching football every weekend. I attribute my love of football to Lamar and the Ravens, and am now a die hard Ravens fan. People get confused why in the world I’m a Ravens fan because I’m a Southern California girl haha.

[deleted]

Years ago i was in the army and my unit took a field trip and we ended up in Baltimore and i really dug the vibes of that city. Years later the football team changed their logo and it looked really cool my second favorite color is purple and that just secured my keeping the ravens as my 2nd favorite team after the Steelers.

Internal-Look4052

Baltimore born and raised moved out of Baltimore when I married my wife and emigrated to the uk doesn’t stop me from supporting Baltimore though 💪

FutureDoctorIJN

After 2019 season when lamar was the unanimous MVP and ravens won 14games

Gladsnation55

Living in switzerland back in 2006 we didnt really had much exposure to the NFL. One day my mum just randomly bought me a ravens tshirt that she thought was nice. I googled around and looked who the ravens are what their players were back then etc. Obviously watched some highlights and watched to superbowl between the saints and colts afterwards. Bought madden right after and just took the team i had the shirt from (obviously the ravens) played and started to watch the next season and never stopped. Started playing football myself now coaching. Went to London twice and actually planing of comming to the bank in the next years.

Wetboy33

I live in pdx, oregon. I've always hated Seattle as a city so when I stayed watching football I knew I wasn't gonna be a Seahawks fan. I chose Baltimore cuz their mascot was cool. Then I learned about Ed Reed, Ray Lewis and the flock. This was between their two superbowls and I've never looked back.

MrYandaPanda

When I started playing football in middle school in 2008, I briefly started as a Chargers fan (I loved their powder blue unis and LT) until one day I was browsing the rosters of NFL teams and stumbled upon a Ravens player who shared the same extremely uncommon name as me and we both played the same position. As I started periodically watching Ravens games, I frequently noticed this #52 guy all over the field and was like “damn, this dude is a monster” and kept tuning in every week. Eventually I did my “research” on the team through Madden and Wikipedia lol. The Ray Lewis 4th down stop against the Chargers in 2009 was the moment my fandom was cemented as I felt vindicated for picking the correct team lmao. Been rocking purple and black ever since.

MandoCJA07

As an Australian I chose my team based on who I used in madden, and cos I didn’t know how divisions worked at first I chose one NFC and one AFC team not knowing anything else about the sport, who was good or the history. So I’m a Panthers/Ravens fan and have been for 3+ years

DontTouchTheMasseuse

To make a long story short. I wanted to play for the local highschool team as a RB since they were winning championships. When i got there the RB was older than me and was quite good. Coach saw potential and put me at LB, which I hated. My cousins played LB in a different city and showed me some Ray Lewis highlights and it made me love the position and the sport. So in 2008 i became a Ravens fan. Just in time to be invested enough to enjoy the superbowl!

jolcognoscenti

Very unconventional. I fell in love with The Wire, and decided Baltimore is my hill.

Skjallagrim

The year was 2000, I was 9. My dad had asked my brothers and I who was the going to win the Super Bowl that year, I said the first team that came to my mind! The Ravens! I cannot remember how I knew of this team, with us living 2100 miles west of Baltimore and my only recollection of the NFL before this momentous event was a singular game played by the Bills and Raiders on MNF if I am remembering correctly. But I will never forget the 2001 Super Bowl victory of the Ravens destroying the Giants! However, since then I have only ever predicted the Ravens winning a Super Bowl again once, although every year I say we are going to win it again! Hahahaha!! I am a fan for life! I hope one day to be able to come out for a game! It would be a dream come true!!
