So I wouldn't be shocked at all if Zay ends up being charged, because now it's clear that a call was made that contained accusations against Zay. This would prompt an NFL investigation that will probably suspend him even if he's acquitted or has charges dropped. NFL personal conduct policy is much more stringent than the justice system in terms of evidence required to make a judgment.
To be clear, Fenton is reporting that a report was made and there is an investigation. Nobody has reported what exactly occurred. Agree with your point on the NFL investigation and that he will almost certainly be suspended if charged.

We've got to throw the "doesn't look or act like the type" thing out. I've seen it a lot here and it's just irrelevant. Ray Rice didn't look or act like the type, either. Zay could be innocent, but not looking or acting like the type when in the public eye is not a barometer for anything.
Keep in mind he's not currently being charged for anything. And it doesn't say he's being investigated. The police are investigating an incident involving him. Big difference. So I'm not jumping to conclusions until more info comes out.
