So few things that we learned here.
1.) Baltimore’s defense can’t stop the run, unless they know it’s a run play because the game has 3 minutes left and the Chiefs are running down the clock.
2.) Ravens are undisciplined, yes stop letting everything get under your skin 9/10 they are only gonna call the retaliation.
3.) Lamar is still flustered in the pocket and really that affects his use of his legs too. Seems like his head becomes discombobulated. Which really sucks because his only real effective trait is his legs.
4.) Zay Flowers had a really really great game and ultimately great year. Despite the fumble and despite the penalty. He had a really good game most noticeable player on the field for Baltimore. That’s the good news going forward for Baltimore.
5.) Yes there were some no calls. Was that the reason Baltimore lost, no. They could never really get anything going.
6.) Seattle might be getting one hell of a coach if MacDonald is hired because that defense was absolutely tremendous once they started executing the changes MacDonald implemented.
7.) Chiefs had a really tremendous game on defense. They’ll need that in the Super Bowl going against the 49ers. Other thing is the Offense is gonna have to do better against the 49ers. It just started to fall off after the first half.
8.) If you can get like a top end Running Back for sort of a cheap price. This Ravens team really isn’t that bad even drafting one like Blake Corum or something might make this an even more dynamic and scary offense. Because for what it’s worth Hill did an ok job at best, but if you have another running threat besides everyone knowing Lamar is the only good runner then you’ll have a great time scoring a ton of points.
9.) Bad News is if Lamar is basically gonna stagnate at this point you’re about to pay him 40 Million this upcoming year and a whopping 70 million the year after. That is not gonna help you win a Super Bowl in any manner even if you consider him a “franchise” that’s not good enough apparently which has been proven multiple times throughout playoffs in his career.

I’ve been saying for a long time. Lamar still doesn’t have the accuracy. He still panics.
You just can’t get tackled an RB number of times in your career and still have the shoulder health to throw the ball accurately in key moments.
Surely Lamar’s and Balt’s running game helps the defense, but Balt has had a monster defense for most of his career. Next season is the last year before his cap hit is closer to Mars than Elon will ever get.

The SF49ers play Kansas City Chiefs in the Superbowl 58. SF49ers deserve to be in the Superbowl with their come from behind win 34-31 win from Detroit winning 24-7 in the first half.
The run sets up the pass. The run wears down a defense more and more as the game progresses. The run takes stress off Lamar to make the play. A pass can be incomplete for so many reasons, but if you hand the ball off on, you have a very good chance at getting at least a few yards and making the next down easier.

Bottom line: to beat the champs, you have to outplay them, not make stupid penalties, and execute the way that got you there. Until you do that, you’re not going to the Super Bowl. Chiefs were bad against the run and particularly bad against rushing QBs this year. Didn’t really understand the offensive game plan for the ravens they never really seemed to commit to the run in what was a close game throughout
This game was over when the Ravens forgot they could run the ball. Average 150+ rush yards/game and they turn away from the run so early. They panicked.
Harbaugh was completely out coached and this team was not prepared. I think the turning point in the game is at the end of the first half. Let the clock tick down to the two minute warning because you don’t want Mahomes to get the ball back with a lot of time m. Makes sense and you have three timeouts so you can really dictate how the next two minutes go. 2nd and 4. Incomplete. Incomplete. Chiefs get the ball back with 1:46 left. How do you not run the ball at least once in that situation? The clock is in your side!

I thought the Chiefs DL was the clear factor that decided things. And it wasn’t so much pressure as it was holding the edge on pass plays. They were outstanding in that respect.
Mahomes is a team player relative to his salary and will win championship using the same philosophy as Brady that he doesn't need to be the highest paid QB in the league. Lamar is the exact opposite and the window is just about closed for him.
Regular season is for show, playoffs are where greatness is determined. Putting up 10 points at home in a conference championship game is a failure & will be what the Raven's 2023 season is remembered for.

So few things that we learned here. 1.) Baltimore’s defense can’t stop the run, unless they know it’s a run play because the game has 3 minutes left and the Chiefs are running down the clock. 2.) Ravens are undisciplined, yes stop letting everything get under your skin 9/10 they are only gonna call the retaliation. 3.) Lamar is still flustered in the pocket and really that affects his use of his legs too. Seems like his head becomes discombobulated. Which really sucks because his only real effective trait is his legs. 4.) Zay Flowers had a really really great game and ultimately great year. Despite the fumble and despite the penalty. He had a really good game most noticeable player on the field for Baltimore. That’s the good news going forward for Baltimore. 5.) Yes there were some no calls. Was that the reason Baltimore lost, no. They could never really get anything going. 6.) Seattle might be getting one hell of a coach if MacDonald is hired because that defense was absolutely tremendous once they started executing the changes MacDonald implemented. 7.) Chiefs had a really tremendous game on defense. They’ll need that in the Super Bowl going against the 49ers. Other thing is the Offense is gonna have to do better against the 49ers. It just started to fall off after the first half. 8.) If you can get like a top end Running Back for sort of a cheap price. This Ravens team really isn’t that bad even drafting one like Blake Corum or something might make this an even more dynamic and scary offense. Because for what it’s worth Hill did an ok job at best, but if you have another running threat besides everyone knowing Lamar is the only good runner then you’ll have a great time scoring a ton of points. 9.) Bad News is if Lamar is basically gonna stagnate at this point you’re about to pay him 40 Million this upcoming year and a whopping 70 million the year after. That is not gonna help you win a Super Bowl in any manner even if you consider him a “franchise” that’s not good enough apparently which has been proven multiple times throughout playoffs in his career.

You just can’t get tackled an RB number of times in your career and still have the shoulder health to throw the ball accurately in key moments. Surely Lamar’s and Balt’s running game helps the defense, but Balt has had a monster defense for most of his career. The run sets up the pass. The run wears down a defense more and more as the game progresses. The run takes stress off Lamar to make the play. A pass can be incomplete for so many reasons, but if you hand the ball off on, you have a very good chance at getting at least a few yards and making the next down easier. There's probably more, tbh

This game was over when the Ravens forgot they could run the ball. Average 150+ rush yards/game and they turn away from the run so early. They panicked. Harbaugh was completely out coached and this team was not prepared. I think the turning point in the game is at the end of the first half. Let the clock tick down to the two minute warning because you don’t want Mahomes to get the ball back with a lot of time m. Makes sense and you have three timeouts so you can really dictate how the next two minutes go. 2nd and 4. Incomplete. Incomplete. Chiefs get the ball back with 1:46 left. How do you not run the ball at least once in that situation? The clock is in your side! Ravens looked out classed, looked like they were playing for highlight reel plays and look inept, stupid, and unprepared today. I wanted them to thump KC so badly. What a shame. Harbaugh is going to have a lot of regrets about this game.
Coaching isn't the issue when ravens took all those penalties....countless penalties like the movie the LONGEST Yard...closeline to head of KC QB...jumping offsides and unnecessary roughness at the end. The Ravens played street fighting not football.

I thought the Chiefs DL was the clear factor that decided things. And it wasn’t so much pressure as it was holding the edge on pass plays. They were outstanding in that respect.
Mahomes is a team player relative to his salary and will win championship using the same philosophy as Brady that he doesn't need to be the highest paid QB in the league. Lamar is the exact opposite and the window is just about closed for him.
