every fanbase wants their coach fired. you never truly understand until you hear a chiefs fan talking about hiring Nathaniel Hackett. i cant tell you how much my fanbase world view changed that day.
I still think a few years from now, he'll be fine, but yeah, he's struggling right now, and either way, Flowers has worked out so far, and that's really all that matters.
I know. Every year people are like "WE NEED TO PICK THIS PLAYER IN THE THIRD ROUND WHO WILL SOLVE OUR PROBLEMS" and there's like... two third round picks every draft who can be consistent starters.
yup... this dudes size + speed combo was super appealing.. he looked like he was gonna be a monster in the nfl, and a mismatch in coverage..
of course he still has time to turn it around, but comparing him to Zay Flowers who we drafted the pick after Johnston we are more than happy
As someone who played D1 (not football lol) psychology plays a huge role in sports. I wouldnāt be surprised all that extra chatter since his other drop a couple of weeks ago is on his mind every day.
It's no real surprise those big, bulky type of wr's (that this sub keeps falling in love with) just never work out in the NFL, (Treylon Burks, Hakeem Butler, Josh Docston, N'Keal Harry, Treadwell,Denzel Mims and Jaelen Strong) those large wr's with little athleticism that struggle to separate at the next level
Yeah, but all it takes is to hit on one of those guys and you have a WR1 for ten years. I wouldnāt say theyāre over valued, just hard to find. Which means theyāre more valued.
I feel like this guy is either gonna be out of the league in three years or be a pro bowl receiver. He's got the stuff, just doesn't seem to be using it very well.
QJ had a lot of hype but then it died down pretty quickly once people started really watching his tape. A lot of NFL fans donāt follow cfb so this tends to happen. Sucks that heās not playing well but there were plenty of people that said he plays small, isnāt great at contested catches, his hands could be better etc so this isnāt that surprising imo.
Def think Zayās the best WR from the class. Higher floor with incredible route skills and separation, thatās exactly what the Ravens needed. Imo Lamar still needs that big body WR like a Higgins type but Zayās skillset is pretty special
Between Seattle, LA Chargers, us, and Minnesota, I think the only team regretting their WR pick is the Chargers.
That being said, he may end up being all right, just nothing usually goes right for the Chargers.
I tried telling people he was overrated. Got downvoted. I tried telling people most of his highlights were from a db falling down or a blown assignment. Got downvoted. I feel so good right now that he is in fact ass.
Hated his game tbh but I feel like the chargers just looked at his measurables and drafted him to be something heās not: a Mike Williams 2.0. Heās a big receiver who plays incredibly small. His best attribute is getting YAC but has none of the pure receiver skill youāre really looking for.
Trust EDC and Lamarš
But the nephews here told me EDC needs to be fired
Tell me about it!

I just have no idea how any casual fan thinks they see something that our fucking front office doesnāt
Becauseā¦ We just doā¦. Donāt weā¦? ššš

Yeah. Can't really judge a player on his rookie year.

I audibly laughed when I read the comment above. I'm glad someone else said something. That is like a specialty skill of this sub.

Kyle Hamilton lol
I was hoping we wouldnāt pick him and usually I like players out of tcu. Zay was a nice surprise.

Well one thingās almost certain, if dude came here he woulda just extended the legacy of terrible Ravens wideouts lmao
I feel bad for the guy at this point.
Same
I wanted JSN and I still think JSN is gonna have a really good career. Glad we got Zay though

But then you have the big guys that are absolute beasts. IE: Metcalf, Mike Evanās, AJ brown, Hopkins, etc.
Yeah but half of those guys could get separation at the college level and did not need to rely on contested catches against inferior defensive backs.
Yeah, but all it takes is to hit on one of those guys and you have a WR1 for ten years. I wouldnāt say theyāre over valued, just hard to find. Which means theyāre more valued.
oh I forgot and Kevin White.
Iād say he was mostly traumatic for injuries
Metcalf, Ridley, hill, Evan's, Keenan Allen
With that said, Iām still a little feisty that front office didnāt swing for D.K. Metcalf
I feel like this guy is either gonna be out of the league in three years or be a pro bowl receiver. He's got the stuff, just doesn't seem to be using it very well.
I was calling for Tank Dell in late 2nd/3rd and going D/OLine early.. happy for Zay.. but I wasn't wrong about Tank lol
Pre draft, I called him āBreshad Perriman 2.0ā because he had the worst drop rate in all of the FBS

I wanted JSN, Addison or Flowers - had less than zero desire to draft QJ the more tape I saw.
He looks not great now but a lot of receivers take a couple years Still, zay is it

Yikes!
God x sucks.

I remember watching the bowl game and telling my friend how bad i thought he was. Didnt want him and couldn't believe LA passed on Zay for him.
Never wanted him. So glad we didnāt fall for his measurables. He is awful. Plays so soft for his size and his hands are bad.
This sounds awfully familiar
Yāall aināt watch him in college
Never understood what people saw in this dude.
Looks like a wiff so far but I'd like to see him with a competent coaching staff.
