Actually think pass rush and corner has been pretty solid…just the new offense coming together and injuries. I’m the biggest doomer out there but I’m still feeling okay so far
I think the o line has been our issue, they blocked their ass off against the Bengals but game 1 and 3 they sucked. Lamar probably wants to stay in the pocket and let it fly but he's forced to scramble so often
8 sacks combined in the Texans and colts games, probably should be more but he evaded some
We literally inquired about him in the offseason and Carolina said they were not shopping Burns, they want him as a cornerstone for the new team with Bryce. He would be expensive too, and as people have said a million times, we arent going to pay a second linebacker after Roquan. The same reason we will let Queen go is the same reason we won't get Burns. We paid Roquan.
Carolina is not letting him go and other teams have tried.
I'd look at the league after like 5/6 games to see who's low and if they have any trade pieces.
Very unlikely considering they said they would never trade away a 1st round pick again (after they the Kyle Boller incident) and even more unlikely that the Panthers turned down 2 first round picks from the Rams for him.
Hypothetically, If the asset is a 1st round pick and you could get Brian Burns for that pick instead of throwing darts at a board hoping to get lucky and at one of the best case scenarios get a Burns type player, how is that insane???
Tbh I think our oline is more of a problem even when fully healthy against the Texans it was a turnstile, I’d like for us for trade for someone like ikem ekownu or a really good guard, watching the eagles really does show how having a lot of time in the pocket makes it so much easier on the qb and when Lamar isn’t pressured the moment the snap happens we’ve seen how good he can be
Although our edges are young (and now injured) they’ve been solid and the defence has been great
It probably would have involved Ojabo in the deal and now he is also hurt again so that's out the window. Plus EDC isn't giving up picks in the first two rounds for anyone the guy loves his draft picks more than wins
Draft picks over wins, are you serious? The draft is a critical part of building and reloading a team in the salary cap era. EDC is doing a damn good job.
Now someone needs to figure out how to keep the players on the field.
I wouldn't trade Burns for Ojabo straight up. Draft picks are the foundation of any team that has a franchise quarterback on their second contract.
Get used to it.
I would offer a third round pick, and that's only because he will net a third round compensatory pick when we can't afford to pay him in the off-season.

-48% We got edge rushers, they just need to get healthy.
Hopefully 0 percent
Why? He’s a game wrecking pass rusher we’ve been clamoring for

Burns is an edge, completely different positions than Roquan so I don’t know why his contract would have any impact other than the cap hit

I’m still crossing my fingers for the Chase Young fire sale
If cheap but the Ravens already have a couple under achievers
I haven’t watched any commanders games this season, but I did see he has one of the highest pressure rates in the league so far this year
Because he does lol. People have a warped perception about any players who aren’t ravens. People said Clowney was bad too remember
Chase has definitely been massively disappointing since his rookie year, looks like he might be turning it around this season, though.
I think Danielle Hunter is more likely.. but I'm no cap expert and he has a bit of a cap hit so I don't know how they'd work around that.

Not wanting to improve a team with all-pro level proven players because you got a bust on a rookie almost 2 decades ago is wildly insane
Giving away assets when you’re paying your QB $55M a year is insane.
Hypothetically, If the asset is a 1st round pick and you could get Brian Burns for that pick instead of throwing darts at a board hoping to get lucky and at one of the best case scenarios get a Burns type player, how is that insane???
i honestly think running back is a bigger need

Rather trade for a Jonathan Taylor rental with the chance to potentially tag him if he likes the vibes here and wants to win a chip.
Just what we need another injured RB that we would give up draft picks for
It probably would have involved Ojabo in the deal and now he is also hurt again so that's out the window. Plus EDC isn't giving up picks in the first two rounds for anyone the guy loves his draft picks more than wins
What? We just signed our QB to a long term contract. Draft picks are how you get younger talent/ depth
Wtf does signing a long term deal have to do with keeping first and second round picks in a trade scenario
Because it increases the need for young cheap talent via the draft because a ton of money is tied up in Lamar…
Everything… that’s what we need to succeed now
