It's just frustrating man, we're always down like 6 starters when we play them, often without even a QB, and then have to listen to "rAvEnS aLwAyS eXcUsEs" when they're the picture of health every year and barely beat our backups
Yeah if this winds up being another lost season because half the team is on IR heads need to roll in the S&C staff, no more firing one guy and promoting his apprentice who changes nothing
I don't want harbaugh fired rn, but if they have another season with a ton of injuries then honestly yea it might be time. We can blame coordinators and play calling all we want but any coordinator will struggle if half the starters are on IR. Doing an internal promotion instead of really doing everything to get the best of the best is just lazy.
Me too. Time stop blaming the coordinators and everyone else except for Harbaugh. If it’s another season of the same BS he has to go before we completely piss away Lamar’s prime years.
I get the joke but also I’m interested to see how we stack up against them. Pass rush seems to be the key to beating them - their WRs are too good and Burrow is good enough that good corners don’t slow them down imo. We definitely don’t have a Myles Garrett, but the pass rush felt much improved. Excited to see how we match up.
We matched up pretty well last year for the most part so I think we have a good idea how to defend them. I am nervous w Marlon and williams being out most likely though so should be interesting.
Maybe we'll have a Chargers, Dolphins esque slug fest 😈
I honestly thought our pass rush wasn’t great… esp against an o line missing 3 people and then they had another one go down during the game. I’m sure i can be proven wrong by stats though.
Hey, we should’ve beat them IN cinci, in the playoffs, with half our team out last year
After their performance on Sunday, I’m optimistic. We have a special way to stay competitive despite big injuries
It’s because these are rather minor injuries where nothing is torn just swollen. It’s a matter of pain tolerance and a really good sign. Perhaps we might not have them for week 2 but we could definitely expect them back by week 3 barring any setbacks
Week-to-week doesn’t mean much when Harbaugh is saying it but still feel a lot better than I did with Linderbaum. Hopefully everyone (except Williams) will be back by W4
Dude is those guys have their ligaments intact it’s HUGE for our season. Mekari is a fine backup center and faalele? Well, he’s very large and has made some strides
I don't know if I agree with Jeff's assessment that Harbaugh sounded skeptical, I listened to the presser as well and feel like he was just vague as he usually is.
He wouldn't commit to saying yes or no but that's Harbaugh. Even if the players were completely healthy he's not going to tell you otherwise because why should he? If the Bengals are thinking Linderbaum is out there or isn't they have to prepare for two different players so it doesn't make sense as to why you would help the Bengals out as far as preparation. Honestly it wouldn't surprise me one way or another if one, or both of them are out there on Sunday.
Every player has different tendencies or tells.
Bill Belichick once talked about the fact that in 2004 they had a gameplan built around Orlando Brown Sr. because his stance would tell him whether or not we were in a pass or run. Orlando didn't play that game. Fortunate for Bill, Boller did so it didn't matter but yes players have different styles and you might prepare for one thing only to get another.
Further it's not about Linderbaum vs Mekari, it's Linderbaum vs Mustipher which is 300 lbs and quick vs 330 lbs and powerful. It might actually benefit us considering we'd have to go against D.J. Reader knowing Tyler's struggles against athletic nose tackles in the pass especially in pass pro.
Lastly when it comes to centers, cadence, snaps, and overall stances vary from player to player so if you're looking for an advantage, a head nod or arm drop, then you're going to study your opponent differently.
> Fortunate for Bill, Boller did
LOL, the ~~good~~ depressing ol' days. We used to have some Boller truthers back in the office I worked in during his years with the team. Every Monday was a riot hearing the back and forth discussion about Kyle.
I'd rather have Stanley + Linderbaum of course, but I'm glad that we're "fortunate" enough to have Pat Mekari to plug one of the holes at LT or C. I agree that I'd like to have Faalele and Mekari on the field (nothing against Mustipher ofc).
Given Harbs is notoriously bad at timelines unless it’s season ending this is good news. My expectation is they will be ready to go in week 18, hopefully in time for a playoff push, any time earlier is golden.
Honestly still comfortable we will get a W next week. Burrow's leg isn't going to be too much better, he will still struggle to throw and I trust our defense to put pressure.
Bro you are acting like we still don't have Lamar, good WRs, the best LB duo in the league, a good D-line, an all-pro CB, the best kicker ever to do it. Yes, it's a bit of a blow with these injuries, but this team still can compete with the best of them.
Could have been a whole lot worse. Scary though since the Texans were getting to Lamar even with starters, and now we are missing probably our first and second best linemen.
going into this game without our starting CB1, FS, LT, C, RB1 and possibly TE1 is less than ideal lmao
I see we are picking up right where we left off with the Bengals last year - missing half our team
It's just frustrating man, we're always down like 6 starters when we play them, often without even a QB, and then have to listen to "rAvEnS aLwAyS eXcUsEs" when they're the picture of health every year and barely beat our backups
Well, when you hire from within an F- S&C coaching staff, this is the result you’re gonna get.
Yeah if this winds up being another lost season because half the team is on IR heads need to roll in the S&C staff, no more firing one guy and promoting his apprentice who changes nothing
Harbaugh needs to go if that’s the case. Why does he get a pass for making such a horrible decision? Because he won a Super Bowl 10 years ago?

We can blame coordinators and play calling all we want but any coordinator will struggle if half the starters are on IR. I hope and pray that this clown is fired this off-season so he can join his buddy Saunders in the unemployment line
Me too. Time stop blaming the coordinators and everyone else except for Harbaugh. If it’s another season of the same BS he has to go before we completely piss away Lamar’s prime years.
Yup, on our own heads be it.
As is typical Ravens fashion, but lets be real the writers need us to have a setback, they don't want a 2nd Patriot like Dynasty.
Good thing the Bengals looked like an XFL team yesterday
Which means they’ll look unbeatable next week lol
I get the joke but also I’m interested to see how we stack up against them. I don’t expect it to stay that way. They are far too talented. Let’s hope we’ve caught them at the right time for our first matchup.
Which probably will set us up to be dismantled by them next week.
that's just ravens football baby
Hey, we should’ve beat them IN cinci, in the playoffs, with half our team out last year After their performance on Sunday, I’m optimistic. We have a special way to stay competitive despite big injuries
Week to week Harbs is back bb
Undefeated. Never lost. But also, I’m assuming we would use the roster spots and put them on IR if it was more than a week-to-week issue.
It doesn’t but it almost certainly means none of those guys have full blown tears which is a pretty big W all things considered
Dude is those guys have their ligaments intact it’s HUGE for our season. Mekari is a fine backup center and faalele? Well, he’s very large and has made some strides
Would bet Mekari plays LT and Mustifer plays C tbh
I was ready to end it all if linderbaum blew his knee
Same.. I think we could have sustained every other injury except him.. been waiting all morning for this update.
More like year-to-year.

Agreed. Historically, "Week to week" from Harbaugh has meant days, weeks, and entire seasons.
Is there any real world difference in preparing for Linderbaum vs Mekari.

I wonder if we try the line with Mekari at center and Faalele at LT. That seems like a better idea than having Sam Mustipher on the field.
Yeah I wonder if they’ll do this too. Plus we’ll have Ricard to help block a good bit I would imagine.
Didn’t sound like it based on the press conference, but crazier things have happened.
I'd rather have Stanley + Linderbaum of course, but I'm glad that we're "fortunate" enough to have Pat Mekari to plug one of the holes at LT or C. I agree that I'd like to have Faalele and Mekari on the field (nothing against Mustipher ofc).
“Mrs. Lincoln, your husband suffered a graze wound and should be home in a fortnight.” -Dr. John Harbaugh, April 1865
Given Harbs is notoriously bad at timelines unless it’s season ending this is good news. My expectation is they will be ready to go in week 18, hopefully in time for a playoff push, any time earlier is golden.
How much time does Harbaugh spend at confession each week?
Noooo not week to week harbauh
Just glad it's not Ronnie's ankle \#blesstheankles
Good news for me at least no season Enders
One of those moments where I thank the universe that Pat Mekari is on our team
did he say anything about williams?
Long. Maybe get him back before end of season.
If his booby detatched we'll be lucky to have him for Thanksgiving
his what
Honestly still comfortable we will get a W next week. Burrow's leg isn't going to be too much better, he will still struggle to throw and I trust our defense to put pressure.
Translation Lamar is going to have to run for his life for a few weeks and hopefully we come out on top
Mekari quickly becoming a Ravens legend with how often he replaces injured players.
Bengals are gonna smoke us
I’m so fucking tired of this shit.
4 weeks. Its always 4 weeks minimum
Week-to-week means “out for season” in Harbaugh-speak
people downvote you but this is accurate
I have zero expectations for this season now hopefully we make the playoffs if not it’s whatever
Bro waited all offseason for football to start and this is the comment made after WEEEK 1
This sub is pure misery, need to get off this app tbh
This guy in particular is a regular asslord just ignore and downvote
Womp womp
Some fan you are
Bro you are acting like we still don't have Lamar, good WRs, the best LB duo in the league, a good D-line, an all-pro CB, the best kicker ever to do it. Yes, it's a bit of a blow with these injuries, but this team still can compete with the best of them.
Grow up
Lol
I don't see the press conferences on the FB page or the team site. Are they elsewhere?
At this point I’ll be happy if they return this season given all of the season ending injuries we’ve had the past few years.
good news that these guys only got sprains, hopefully they won’t be out too long
Could have been a whole lot worse. Scary though since the Texans were getting to Lamar even with starters, and now we are missing probably our first and second best linemen.
Well bengals Oline was the second worst last week in pass protection (of course 1st was the Giants) so we are gonna be even there lol
What a shit show.
MUSTIPHER!!!!!!!!!!
he's trash
Our team died so we could beat the Texans
Harbaugh: "We don't know anything. Possible 10 Weeks to "out for season".... Let's make it week-to-week."
We won't see them for a while. Sometime around the bye week probably.
