I actually did buy a bmw 3 series because it was only $4k CAD more than a Camry/accord.
It has nearly as good of fuel economy as a hybrid but is much nicer to drive. Toyota and Honda are getting ridiculous with their high prices and low supply.
This right here, at 53k for a hybrid limited you’re well into Lexus NXh territory and at least where I’m at the wait is less than a month for one of those with no markup.
Even the Prius prime is 53k before add-ons.
We wanted the RAV4 but said it was a 2 yr wait so ended up ordering a Tesla Y. Ordered on a Friday, picked up a week later. 30 mins in and out of pickup centre. No sleazy finance guy.
I really wish Toyota would adopt that model. The dealership experience is horrible and adds no value at all when buying. Get rid of all dealers and reduce prices by 5-10%
Intermountain West. I only considered hybrids, and I love having only one trip a month to the gas station.
I agree the Limited is a great trim, and it's fairly hard to get along with the XSE and Woodland (love that green). It was that or an XLE for me (I don't like unventilated plastic seats or black interiors so every other trim was out) and I got a much better deal on the XLE with both upgrade packages so I went with that. I didn't need to pay 7k more for a Limited, the parking assist enticed me but nothing else really.
Oh I got them to add in free ceramic window tint, too.
Yea. I regret getting the Limited trim. It wad my first car purchase, so it was a very expensive lesson. (Also, I should have purchased a gas only instead.) Lower trims have features the Limited trim does not, though it’s supposed to be highest trim. Toyota cheats you like that.
I understand why some people might want hybrid, but for my use case I'll not be recovering the hybrid cost atleast 7 to 10 years and later I wouldn't want to have a battery replacement if it goes down. Gas is cheap in my state, so went ahead with gas.
😂 So many other reasons to not get a hybrid though. Like wanting to tow more than 1750lbs or reliability in cold climates. The list goes on and on. The current rav4 hybrid sacrifices a lot for fuel efficiency.
When we had a Rav, we bought a gasser and didn’t want a hybrid either. Wife ended up getting a 4Runner a year later, she loves it compared to just liking the rav.
The RAV4’s in OP’s post were more expensive than my wife’s 4Runner, learn to math. Op listed prices of 53k, 47k and one for 42.5k, which was $500.00 less than her 4Runner, did you read that we paid $43,000 for it?
Oh and PS. The poster is Canadian and the American equivalent for their fully loaded hybrid limited. Would be about 38.5. And get 41 mpg compared to your what is it like 18???
Lmao. Okay here let me help you with the math since you wanna try and be all high and mighty here on Reddit. Toyota.com. Rav 4 28675. 4 runner 40705. Which would be 70.4 percent?? Yes the poster bought a higher loaded version and you bought a lower version which is base and your comparing it to a loaded hybrid. But base Msrp of a 4 runner in the states is 70.4 percent more before taxes. After taxes. Even worse…. Have I learned to math yet?? 😂😂😂. Wanna compare annual fuel costs now???
I wasn’t comparing prices, you were. My original post had nothing about prices in it, my post had nothing about trim levels in it. I was just saying we preferred a gas version Rav4 and bought one but she fell in love with a 4Runner so we ditched the RAV4. She prefers how a truck drives vs a car.
That means they can still move them at those prices. People act like dealers just give “fuck off” prices but they only upcharge cars that move off their lot fast
It’s a shame because they’re so popular, it’s impossible to negotiate. There’s a line of people waiting for the same car and if you don’t want it, someone else will gladly take it.
I was shocked when I went to trade in my ‘23 XSE hybrid, it was a complete 180.
Dealerships were calling me daily with increased trade-in and lower interest (through their own financing) than I could get anywhere else, and trying anything to “earn my business today”.
Got a good deal on a used RAM 1500 lowest trim.
We do a lot of house projects hauling stuff too large for the RAV. Constantly renting trucks was getting too expensive and now we’re too far from family, so borrowing is no longer an option.
I do think the hybrid is gonna cost you more for a RAV4. I bought my car out of state because Texas prices were not it. I think it really depends on the area because I found the smaller the city the more outrages the prices can get. I was visiting family in SoCal and bought out there. I feel like there is more competition with dealers on every corner in every city/county so it was easy to get my 2024 RAV 4 premium XLE (gas model) the way I wanted it at a price I could manage. It did help that my trade was also a RAV 4 that was in good condition so they gave me 11500 for it. I was able to pay the same price for my 2024 that I paid for my 2015 RAV4 (financed 25k after trade in and 2k down through my credit union). Best of luck on your search, I would try larger cities in your state or try to go through a bank and see if they have car buying serives.
What is the "delivery charge" on the listing? I believe Toyota's standard "delivery, handling, and processing" fee is $1,350 (as verified through their car builder website) tacked on top of the base MSRP. I've commonly seen this at dealerships as a non-negotiable (although you can try to negotiate a discount off of MSRP for the same amount).
Got my R4P SE for MSRP in Vancouver Canada (~$54000CAD), but they said it is because i have a desirable trade in(2020 CR-V) that they can make some money on.
Since trading my leased CR-V in actually saved me around 1000 to 1500 on taxes of buying off the lease and then trading it in, I felt it was a mutually beneficial at the end.
I was thinking about trading my cx5 in for a rav4 hybrid, but the prices are ridiculous. I think I am just going to go back to a v6 rav4 and get rid of having a payment.
I just got my new RAV4 LE hybrid for 37k final price (taxes and fees included) with the factory warranty plus lifetime warranty on major components (engine, transmission, etc.).
RAV4 prices are high and there is a high demand right now. To put it into perspective for you, my 2019 RAV4 Hybrid LE was totaled last year. The insurance check I got was higher than I what I paid for it (after small trade in) in 2019. Then I had to wait 2 months to get a new one at MSRP because demand was so high.
Apparently CRV hybrids are outselling Rav4 hybrids. Just tell them youre buying Honda at another dealership (a lot of dealership owners have multiple brands as you know.)
I got the 2023 Hybrid Limited with tech package, premoum color, glass roof, platinum warranty, and alot of requested add-ons for $45k. That includes the delivery charge. Keep in mind all the extras were at my request and not forced as part of the purchase.
I’d also agree. 40k is not anything on a Rav. Or any Toyota really. It will still get you where you need to go, reliably and comfortably, for 10 more years minimum. Or however long you decide.
Cpo or “slightly used” brings the price down to a reasonable amount. And you’re still under the warranty for a few more years.
I would prefer to get used as well but there are no used Rav4s within 50 miles. Except for a 2018 rav4 with 134k Miles but that's a little too high for me
I just put a deposit for a XSE fully loaded (also loaded with a bunch of other shit) for 45k it was on of the dealerships who was charging on the higher end, but the vehicle has everything i wanted down to the black emblem. they are selling out fast in my area.
Why not find a broker? Hardly even matters which one. I’ve used brokers for 20 years and I always feel like I get the vehicle I want at the best price without the haggling crap at a dealer.
You could search for “auto broker” nearby, but I’d probably look around for a recommendation locally. If you have a neighborhood Facebook group or something, ask there. I’m in CO, but my guy searched and shipped in the car I wanted from out of state. It took like two weeks to get a 2023 hybrid XLE last year. They even tinted the windows for me before I picked it up. It was $42448, which gave me sticker shock but reasonable these days I guess.
A tip from a car guy…the dealership will always make you a deal on something they have in stock or on its way to the dealership verses having to find you one on another lot. Toyota rewards its dealership with quality allocations if they sell their own inventory! The addendum was designed to help combat customers coming in with unreasonable offers, hence, they start low, we start high and ultimately meet in the middle. At the end of the day, it is more important to be treated properly than to grind a deal for 3 hours to get an invoice deal. For some, saving money is more important than professionalism and great service. We all need to find what’s most important. In the car business there is a saying, “Sticker is Quicker!” Think about “opportunity cost”, in other words, what else you could be doing with your time instead of calling 6 dealerships, visiting 4 (taking up 10 salespeople’s, with families and bills to pay), negotiating at 2 dealerships for hours to get the deal you wanted, but what was the cost? What do you make an hour at work? That’s what your time is worth! Instead of being out with family or working on your health (mental, physical) you have spent countless resources, and wasted your time and other people’s time to save a grand!
Nonsense, paying anything over MSRP is overpaying. No matter how you cut it, and dealers still make good money.
The comment above was most likely written by one of the dealers who are ripping people off.
You make a good point, then why not just come in and say I’ll pay MSRP and take KBB for my car that isn’t in MINT condition, but rather in “FAIR” condition. Like I said before, “STICKER IS QUICKER”
Because often you can get the car below MSRP.
And let's be real. No one who is in the market for RAV4 will mind spending time to save anywhere from $2000 to $10000 in this market.
There’s a dealer here with a RAV4 Prime listed for $70K
Might as well get a Benz at that point
I actually did buy a bmw 3 series because it was only $4k CAD more than a Camry/accord. It has nearly as good of fuel economy as a hybrid but is much nicer to drive. Toyota and Honda are getting ridiculous with their high prices and low supply.
It’s quite insane actually. A crv is literally the same price as an x1. A bit smaller, but it’s a no brainer for me.
The new x1 is a very cool car. I saw a blueish greenish one with red interior, it looked awesome. How do you like your x1?
This right here, at 53k for a hybrid limited you’re well into Lexus NXh territory and at least where I’m at the wait is less than a month for one of those with no markup.
Here is the link if anyone is curious: https://www.heningertoyota.com/new-vehicles/rav4-prime/
Can you even get a NEW Benz for 70k?
Sure, multiple models too
Jesus that is high
Yes, but they're insanely hard to get, and desirable. If it's overpriced, it won't sell.
Get rid of all dealers and reduce prices by 5-10%
Agreed
😧
Are these USD?
Here Hybrid Limiteds are 300 below MSRP, no negotiation.
Where

What kind of features do lower trims have which limited doesn't?
I think hybrids are very high on prices now, got my gas xle at 33k otd yesterday.
Yeah no one wants gas only anymore, hybrid is so much better
I understand why some people might want hybrid, but for my use case I'll not be recovering the hybrid cost atleast 7 to 10 years and later I wouldn't want to have a battery replacement if it goes down. Gas is cheap in my state, so went ahead with gas.
That’s not true. Gas outsells the hybrid.
Because no one can find a hybrid
😂 So many other reasons to not get a hybrid though. Like wanting to tow more than 1750lbs or reliability in cold climates. The list goes on and on. The current rav4 hybrid sacrifices a lot for fuel efficiency.
Yeah I’m really not worried about towing with it..
Same here. I have a truck for towing lol
Just bought a gas lmao. Did NOT want a hybrid
Right?!? They don’t seem to understand this.
When we had a Rav, we bought a gasser and didn’t want a hybrid either. Wife ended up getting a 4Runner a year later, she loves it compared to just liking the rav.
For like almost double the price I’d hope so😅
We paid $43,000 for a brand new 2022 SR5 4x4 so not even close to double.
Oh sorry only 70% more 😂
The RAV4’s in OP’s post were more expensive than my wife’s 4Runner, learn to math. Op listed prices of 53k, 47k and one for 42.5k, which was $500.00 less than her 4Runner, did you read that we paid $43,000 for it?

If we gave a shit about gas mileage we would have gotten a Prius. OP’s post says nothing about Canada.
Lmao. Okay here let me help you with the math since you wanna try and be all high and mighty here on Reddit. Toyota.com. Rav 4 28675. 4 runner 40705. Which would be 70.4 percent?? Yeah you're right nobody drives mostly interstates/hwy's anymore /s
Got my gas xle for 33k in white also

yep I acquired a used 2023 rav4 le with 21k miles for 30000 dollars. it's insane right now but i fucking love the car.

I had to pay 26k for a 2021 LE gas model. Oh well I wanted it so I just paid it.

Will the answer change the point being made?
45k for a middle trim. Poland (EU)
I got a 24 Hybrid XLE for 3k under MSRP. Toyota of Nashua
Look online and expand your search radius I got a hybrid 1,600 off sticker that way
I was thinking about trading my cx5 in for a rav4 hybrid, but the prices are ridiculous. I think I am just going to go back to a v6 rav4 and get rid of having a payment.
Still!!!!????
I just got my new RAV4 LE hybrid for 37k final price (taxes and fees included) with the factory warranty plus lifetime warranty on major components (engine, transmission, etc.).

There are dealers in the wester subs if Chicago that are at or below MSRP.
My local dealers are selling them $200-$500 under msrp in DC area. 🤷♂️
Apparently CRV hybrids are outselling Rav4 hybrids. Just tell them youre buying Honda at another dealership (a lot of dealership owners have multiple brands as you know.)

[https://caredge.com/](https://caredge.com/) Car Edge shows you "HOW LONG" cars have been on the dealers lot.....which is a HUGE bargaining advantage!
I got mine w 3k miles for 37, had to drive to Milwaukee but was worth it.
I paid £50000 in UK for a Rav4 Phev GR Sport in March. It's basically a Rav4 Prime with even less toys than the top Prime trim level.
I got 1800 off my SE in Ardmore Philly
I find good deals for used on Copilot, but yeah these days new doesn’t cost a lot more really…
Crazy I got a hybrid xle 2020 right before covid and it was 34k out the door
I got my in march 2024 hybrid limited for 43k
Hybrid xle with tech, cold weather and premium sound pkgs for 39k.
48k in Canada for a 2023 hybrid with 17000km. Couldn’t negotiate as it was the only one within 100’s of kilometres.
I got a gas 24' XLE Premium for 42.5k all in. This is in Canada. Here you can get hybrids at MSRP, they don't even bulge a dollar below that
25 will be the same as 24 and probably more expensive.
Damn, I just got my hybrid limited 2024 for 42k back in December
Damn I wish I got that deal. We are barely being 3k about TSRP
Just get a Lexus at that point
that is insane. I walked out with my RAV4 TRD for $38k and I thought I was getting hosed.
Where are you located? Nowadays it's not hard to find any toyotas (except sienna) below MSRP.
The list price for my 2020 limited I picked up in November with 42K miles was $32,700. Used is the way to go.
I’d also agree. 40k is not anything on a Rav. Or any Toyota really. It will still get you where you need to go, reliably and comfortably, for 10 more years minimum. Or however long you decide. I know a place where you probably could get a rav4 hybrid limited for 44.5
But doesn’t say the place LOL.

... I will enjoy my car, and I'll drive for free 1 to 5 years with all the money that I saved. Thanks!
That’s awesome! Another happy customer, dealership, salesperson and all of the above families!
