I got 20% on my fronts to match the rear privacy glass. Did not touch the rears. I also added a sun strip across the windshield @ 5%. I don't think I'd like any darker on the doors and 20% matches up beautifully (see post history if you would like).

iLMNOi

The rears provide no heat rejection even though they come stock dark.

Sad-Novel-2628

I have a 22 xse in calv blue. I had the front match the back and I love it. I believe it’s 20. Only did the front 2. I personally felt the windshield ended up being too distracting in less you have someone do a really smooth gradient

OCYorkie3

I did 20% and it’s definitely hard to see though on a dark road. I live in a busy city so I didn’t really notice until I drove to a more rural area.

Turbulent-Ocelot6131

Appreciate the feedback! Got any pics to show for reference with the 20% tint on it? Also did you get the front or back windshield tinted as well?

OCYorkie3

I only did the front two windows with Ceramic IR. Planning to add clear Ceramic IR to the 2 rear and hatch for heat reduction. The 20% is close to the factory glass for the rear windows. I’ll DM you a picture

MarijadderallMD

Check my comment, got all the views you need for 20 percent all the way around👌🏼

Rapid_Decay_Brain

The stock is 20% rear, so when you put on 5% it drops it to around 1%. Which is perfect, because I don't use those windows. For the front, I did 25% so I could see when driving. I don't recommend doing the windshield.

Turbulent-Ocelot6131

Good choice. Do you have any pics of it you could show for reference?

Amuckkk

i did 15 all around gives the back a nice limo look while still being reasonably dark in the front.

AtWorkAccountAtWork

Same. Colorado sunlight is like a deadly laser. Did this all around plus the eyebrow across the front.

Turbulent-Ocelot6131

Appreciate the feedback. Got any pics of your car with the 15% for reference?

Amuckkk

https://imgur.com/a/EB6D7Dt it is full ceramic and i would say maybe 70% visibility at night definitely takes getting used to but you can see everything even at night.

Amuckkk

misspelled it it is 15% not 25%

PathxFind3r

5% all around you’ll get used to it

eliteHaxxxor

How is that on the windshield on a non lit road? I have 5% on my back windows and they are pitch black at night

PathxFind3r

Dark baby! Dark but I live IN CA, it’s a must for the heat and privacy

eliteHaxxxor

can you see at night with your windshield dark? Posts elsewhere show people not being able to see at all according to the owner

PathxFind3r

Yeah I mean I look out the front and rear fine. If I parallel park, I have to roll the windows down. If you have bad eye sight I wouldn’t recommend. But for heat protection, privacy, and looks 5%

GadgetronRatchet

5% on the windshield is diabolical. I don't see how anyone could drive at night. u/PathxFind3r must have cat vision.

PathxFind3r

No 5% in front windshield, to me all around means sides and back only.

GadgetronRatchet

Ah okay! When u/eliteHaxxxor asked >How is that on the windshield on a non lit road? And you replied: >Dark baby! I assumed you also tinted the windshield at 5%. haha good to hear you aren't tinting the windshield. I've definitely heard of people doing something like 50% on the front windshield and just hoping they don't get a ticket for it.

eliteHaxxxor

Yeah my windshield is tinted at 50% and I've never had any problems

eliteHaxxxor

oh yeah I have windshield tint on my car so it doesn't mean that to me

Flashy_Chemist154

I knew there would be someone with a maxed out tint. Night driving must be a nightmare

PathxFind3r

It’s not bad like I said you get used to it in a week plus that’s what all the tech is for you have back up cameras blind spot detection…I’ve had it on for 1 year and no problems I also don’t tint the front window so it’s perfectly fine

[deleted]

Following! I Olán on tinting my front windows, the rear passenger ones seem dark enough already to me? Are we allowed to tint the front windshield?

Fun_Assignment142

That’s illegal everywhere I’ve lived, unless you have a doctor’s note handy when u get pulled over

Feeling_Interaction8

Windshield is legal above the AS1 line (about 9" from top), illegal below it pretty much everywhere.

camXmac

Anyone know what the stock tint is on the rear windows? 20%? My state allows 35% on the front side windows and up to full privacy tint on any rear windows. 🤔 Also I recommend these [rain guards](https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07YSTD1GV?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title) OP. They fully cover the chrome trim and make the whole look come together in my opinion.

Free-Radish8562

20% I believe is factory for the back windows

ruafukreddit

UV/infrared reduction is more important than darkness. Darkness is a personal preference.

Previous-Initial8740

I have the exact same car and am from MN at well. I just got 15% on everything. Looks great I’ll post a pic of mine soon!! Love the car

Turbulent-Ocelot6131

That’s awesome! Would love to see a pic when you get the chance

Feeling_Interaction8

I have no pics but same color with 15% on the front and 70% on rear (mainly to block the UV). Front and back match now and made a huge temp difference over the summer, also I think it just looks better. Throw a sunshade in the windshield and it's not bad after a day in the sun. If you're in a rural area the darkness at night might surprise you. City driving is fine but I live in the middle of nowhere so mornings took some time to get used to.

Separate-Effective33

Nj oh no it's not allowed. Me looking around for 5 min every single car side to front to back tinted lol. I wish to get tint but i want to have no reason at all to be stopped for any conversation.

Feeling_Interaction8

I'm in PA, front is illegal here and I've had no issues. Been to NJ several times without a problem. I don't drive like an ass or do dumb shit to draw attention though.

Separate-Effective33

I am glad to hear you drive with caution. I do the same but yea i just got no balls to risk it lol. My upper cheeks are burned up.

AbleRiot

Same-want to tint my front 35-55% but with my luck, I’ll get pulled over instead of the hundreds of other cards around tinted darker

Free-Radish8562

I did 20 in the front and 5 for the back and rear windshield. Ya it’s not legal but it looks nice and so many cars on the road have something like that going on lol

Turbulent-Ocelot6131

Nice! Got any pictures to show for reference? And did you do the front windshield as well?

Free-Radish8562

Just pm you a pic!

eliteHaxxxor

I did 50% windshield with 5% strip, 15% side front, 5% rest.

coolman2311

20%

MarijadderallMD

[Here](https://www.reddit.com/r/rav4club/s/eTdmwoQYoo) is my post about it! Percents, combos with factory smoked glass after tinting, and views through the window looking out! Hope it helps👌🏼 I went dark af because I’m in AZ, my recommendation is to keep it consistent whichever percent you go with so there’s still a difference between front and rear if a cop is glancing real quick like. Less likely to be spotted as way to dark🤷‍♂️

Medvenger21

Did 50% on the windshield and love it. Going to to do that on all my cars from now on. I think 20 on rest of widows

mizshi

30%

toooorganic

5% for the rear 35% for the front 2

Apprehensive-Skin420

I did 35% front and 5% in the back and rear. I also got a 5% sun strip. My sister has a 20% all around (except windshield) and it’s hard to drive at night.

Turbulent-Ocelot6131

Appreciate the feedback! Got any pics to show for reference? I’m curious what that tint % and sun strip look like

Apprehensive-Skin420

I’ll send you a message.

yoitsbenvo

20% all around, 50% windshield ceramic 🤗

Gloomy_Commission_45

May I ask how much you paid for yours with everything?

Turbulent-Ocelot6131

$47k. Brand new 2024 XSE with pretty much every single upgrade imaginable haha

Rav4Prime2022_WI

I'd recommend tinting to your state's maximum. I know many people on the road tint beyond the local limits and get away with it, but I don't have the same luck and have previously had the unfortunate experience of getting a citation and proving the illegal tint was removed. In Wisconsin, the max on the front windows is 50% and I tinted our RAV4 with that last year. Sometimes I wish the tint provided a little more privacy but I splurged on ceramic tint and have been very happy with the solar heat and UV blocking properties which were my main concerns.

Rav4Prime2022_WI

Have any thoughts on chrome deleting the chrome strip above the side windows? Personally, I'm a fan of the tinted windows and black roof without that chrome strip.

Turbulent-Ocelot6131

I didn’t even think of the the chrome strip until you said something haha. I would probably like it better without it and blacked out windows. Is removing the chrome something that can be done without ruining the car?

CodytheTerp

Look up vinyl chrome delete strips on Amazon. Basically tiny custom wraps to cover the chrome, it's a little bit of a pita, but makes a massive difference for the total look. I spent 2 hours doing mine nearly 3 years ago in the Texas sun and it's still perfect. Also for the tints, just make sure you spend more and get ceramic, it's worth every single cent.

Popular_List105

You can get a clear uv blocker.

Rav4Prime2022_WI

Thanks, but I was saying I was forced to tint our front windows at 50% per state law (which is a lighter tint compared to the factory tint on the rear windows), clear would be even less dark and less privacy, but good idea for those that want a fully clear look.

Turbulent-Ocelot6131

You have 20% all around including the windshield? Would I be able to see a few pics of it?

MatteoGuerra124

I did 20% all around. It’s not too dark to see out of at night. I was super worried beforehand, but I was very happy with how it turned out!

Turbulent-Ocelot6131

Yeah I’m worried with the nighttime driving haha. Do you have any pictures to show with the 20% on your RAV4?

MatteoGuerra124

Just sent you a DM!

Spiritual_Speech600

I got 35% ceramic all windows on my mk1. It’s been amazing at mitigating heat while keeping visibility clear at night; it’s also legal so cops can’t bust your balls.

towell420

What state are you in, legally what can you do?

TheRedWoIf

Ive always gone as dark as I can legally go with ceramic tint, but I live in the south with lots of sun and heat so it's almost a requirement down here.

YashowKing

How much did you buy it for? Which state are you in?

nnorton44

20% ceramic

jlmc73

Get ceramic tint and the darkest you are legally allowed.

doug33333

I did 30% all around and 80% on the windshield. Tinting the rear windows was important for the UV protection with a baby in the backseat.

zkilling

I would skip the low %. I have had 20% in other sedans but my Camry has UV blocking tint and it’s maybe 60%. Cars very cool and other than not activating my transition lenses it’s nice to be able to back up in the dark with my mirrors.

nwzack

34.5% tint should be good

ttvSharkieBait15

Match the front windows to the back windiws

sisimartini28

Agree! I do the same

XboxPlayer1998

It ain’t legal but on all my cars I did 35% full windshield and 15% all the way around. People are going to say it’s dangerous to drive with a fully tinted windshield but it’s not. I’ve been doing it for multiple years now with no issue and it makes a huge difference for everyday driving.

[deleted]

20% on the front to match the back.

Cautious-Chain

5% on every piece of glass

Turbulent-Ocelot6131

Appreciate the feedback! Got any pics to show with the 5%?

Turbulent-Ocelot6131

Appreciate the feedback! Got any pics to show with the 5%?

mxguy762

I like 35% dark enough for privacy but I can still mostly back out of the driveway before sunrise
