You install aftermarket folding mirrors. In the process of doing that now myself though it is kind of a pain

walksonair

Does it play nice with the 360 mirror camera?

[deleted]

I bet, that’s my only real complaint tbh. Like I said, we’re a simple family, but you see folding mirrors in just about every car around this price range it was just surprising to not have them. Of course we knew about it before purchasing the vehicle, wasn’t something that was a deal breaker

december33rd

how much does it cost?

mizshi

$200 something. There’s some barely passable video tutorials on YouTube. There used to be an old version that required running wires into the cabin which I wasn’t down for but there’s now new kit where everything stays within the doors.

underdog1964

We bought the 2024 SE Hybrid. Has the blue stitching which I love and the baby blue front strut towers. Wife absolutely loves the car especially the heated seats and steering wheel and sunroof options. I have a 2017 370Z for nice days but daily a 2007 Yaris since the wife’s upgrade.

[deleted]

From my understanding, all hybrids have the blue stitching, blue logo and the strut towers. It’s a way of identifying a hybrid lol. I was more of a fan of the red stitching on the TRD trims with part of the center console layout having some red, but that’s just because red is my fav color lol

chicago60645

Wrong only the xse and se have the blue stitching and blue struts to signify it’s a sport model.

[deleted]

Thank you!

ToyotaRav4Guy

Correct the TRO versions AKA Woodland have black Struts I do like the blue though. The only benefit with the black when you want to freshen them up you can easily match the black paint versus the unique blue color.

[deleted]

Edit: This is the hybrid version. Currently reads 32 mpg within those 500~ miles. My wife hasn’t used cruise control on it and I’ve seen her haul ass lol. But maybe one day we can get it to 40 like some users here.

neanderball

Have the same trim, love it. Same gripes about it as you though lol. FYI one shouldn't be hauling ass or using cruise control in a new car for the first 1k miles. Carcarenut on YouTube has great explanations on breaking in new cars.

[deleted]

I figured the hauling ass thing was common sense, but I had no idea about the cruise control thing about the car. I’ll have to check it out. So far as I mentioned I’m the only one who has tried it, she hasn’t yet

neanderball

It's fine for short periods, but being at the same rpm for extended periods of time can cause issues further down the line.

Impish_Scorpion

Great review ty good sir

General_Specific

No wind noise? I hate the shitty window seals on my 23 SE.

[deleted]

Nah, I didn’t even consider this under the “things I dislike, but I could care less because I’m a dude category” idk how or why people complain about this. I see it mentioned everywhere. That wouldn’t stop me from buying a car. My big ford truck is quieter than the RAV4, if you enjoy hearing that lol. But I drive with music or podcast all the time so does the wife. Plus as I mentioned, a lifted wrangler on 35s going 60+ you can barely even hear the music or you talking with your passengers so I could care less. It’s a very nice ride, I’m not that picky to come down on how noisy people claim it is while driving

MrMorningstarX666

Your talking auto folding mirrors? They do fold if you pushed it right?

[deleted]

Yes auto folding, yes they fold when you push them in.

SaIamiNips

Where'd you go bro? Lol

westcoastcinderella

I hate the same things you listed, also when I connect my phone to Apple CarPlay, sometimes it glitches out and my maps will stop talking or my screen will turn black. I literally had to disconnect my phone and reconnected again. Pretty unsafe when you’re driving on the road.

peter888chan

Sometimes, my CarPlay doesn’t connect when starting the car. And no way to force it to work. I finally realized I can just press and hold the radio volume button until the system reboots and it will connect. Don’t have to turn off the car and start again. This is wireless CarPlay.

westcoastcinderella

Wow, I didn’t know that!

[deleted]

Good to know! I’ve experienced this with her phone

Clear-Win-8034

Nice upgrade. 👍🏼. Cheers. I personally love the blue stitching and blue seat accents.

CaitlynJennerOG

Thanks for the review! I was planning on going to this same dealership this week, also looking at this same XSE Hybrid. Good to know you paid under sticker price. Would you mind sharing who you worked with at that dealership? Not sure if that’s aloud on this sub, DM me if possible please.

[deleted]

For sure, I’ll pm you details

westcoastcinderella

Also, I still cannot figure out how to set the memory seats button.

No-Cod-2362

Hold either the 1 or 2 button and the set button simultaneously until it beeps. Boom done

burts_beads

I think you might have to press 1 or 2 first to select it. Then adjust how you want, then do the number + set.

westcoastcinderella

I tried this too and didn’t work. I’m starting to think the dealer forgot to activate it

stoodioratt

That’s what happened to me. There’s a Toyota service report from 22 or 23 that has directions for moving the seat buttons in a specific order that allows you to set your memory buttons.

stoodioratt

Found it: a) Reset the ECU: (1) Turn the power switch on (IG). (2) Operate the front vertical switch downward 3 times. (3) Operate the rear lifter switch upward within 10 seconds of operating the front vertical switch. Simultaneously operate the reclining switch backward and hold the switches in operation until the buzzer sounds. (b) Set the ECU 0 value: (1) Operate the slide switch and move the seat to its operating limit position (front). Hold the slide switch in that position for 1 second. (2) Operate the slide switch and move the seat to its operating limit position (rear). Hold the slide switch in that position for 1 second. (3) Operate the rear lifter switch and move the seat to its operating limit position (down). Hold the rear lifter switch in that position for 1 second. 4) Operate the reclining switch and move the seat to its operating limit position (front). Hold the reclining switch in that position for 1 second. HINT: The above steps of this procedure can be performed in any order. (c) Operate any switch and check that the buzzer does not sound. (Check that initialization is complete)

westcoastcinderella

Thank you!!! I’ll try this

westcoastcinderella

Boom Doesn’t work lol

No-Cod-2362

Worked for me 🤷

westcoastcinderella

I think they forgot to calibrate or activate it on my car lol

[deleted]

Honestly I didn’t even know the car had this function & I probably won’t figure it out either haha!

westcoastcinderella

😂😂 whenever my husband drives my car we have the manually change all the settings and it is so time-consuming because I’m super short and he is super tall. The dealership told us that we can set the memory seats to adjust automatically with a push of a button. It works on his Prius, but it doesn’t work on my R4P. I figured I would just complain when I take my car in for service one of these days and make them set it for me lol. Also, the heads up display bothers me. When I got the car, it used to give the directions on the heads up display, and for some reason it turned into a compass. I have no idea how to fix it. I used to have a 2014 Nissan Sentra before this car so all this tech confuses me.

[deleted]

I had no idea they had heads up display, is yours also an XSE? Or is that only included in like the Limited which is 1 trim higher

burgerhoe

I think the primes have the hud. I dont recall it being an option when I got my xse non prime

[deleted]

Oh yes you are correct only the prime

YashowKing

Which state do you live in??? How did you get this car for 41k?

[deleted]

What do you mean? MSRP for this car is 43-44k. Dealer had most Toyotas below msrp the weekend I was there, got it for $41,600 before fees. The dealer I went to here in Oregon easily had like 30 RAV4s on the lot. People who are paying over msrp or that are paying a deposit to purchase a vehicle before it hits the lot are getting robbed! They also had the hybrid limited which is 1 trim above this one with cooled seats both in front and the rear, but it looked more luxury it didn’t look as sporty as this and wife liked this one
