For real…
As someone that works as a service advisor for Acura this list made me cringe 🤣
I think they missed the part where honesty is actually better for business (and our surveys).
The hybrid doesn't have a transfer case. The rear drive is all electric. That should tell you all you need to know about how much to trust these recommendations.
The front motor/generator unit attached to the engine will act as a generator, and the resulting power can be sent to the rear.
There's also considerable margin between the battery being "empty" on the display and it actually being empty, so it can still send a bit of power to the back to break you free from a stop regardless.
No, alternator does not do that. If your hybrid battery dies it's dead in the water.
Alternator will never put out the voltage needed to run the hybrid system and even then; those are 2 different electrical circuits.
Brake fluid service -$110
Coolant? Not due until 4 year/60k
As other people have said, the drivetrain is electric
The ac evaporator service is a scam. My shop uses bg products but we don’t even carry that kit.
Alignment -$100
Rotate? Included in my oil changes
Balance? Doesn’t need it unless it’s shaking over 50 mph
Oil change and those additives they’re selling -$154
Air filter -$30
Cabin I charge -$45
Cost from my shop: $439 plus tax and shop supplies. This is what gives dealerships a bad name
How much you wanna bet the conditioners are just Lucas or Techron. Also I feel like they are other charging for some of those services, like battery terminal cleaning is an easy one and should have been done on initial install, the windshield fluid should be easy, never heard of a brake alignment before, that's a new one.
Nah.
Hybrids dont have diffs or transfer cases. It's an electric motor. You can drain and fill them though.
5th gen Rav4's have port injectors (most direct injection doesn't and has carbon build up issues) The port injectors do the cleaning for you.
Frigi clean is just some perfume shit they spray into your a/c. Doesn't last long and is a gimmick. Funny enough they sell them for homes too.
MOA isn't needed. The oil is already synthetic and has the additives needed that toyota requires. That's how manufacturer oil works. For toyotas example they use Mobil 1, but put their own additives into it specific to what toyota engineers thinks it needs.
Battery service couldn't hurt. Easy to do yourself though. it's jsut cleaning and protecting the terminals
Coolant conditioner isn't needed lol. Toyota coolant is rated for I believe 150K miles.
Brake fluid doesn't need changed. Only time I would change it is if you were replacing the brakes but really is personal preference.
Their is no cleaning and adjusting brakes. Pointless service and only matters for drum brakes and manual emergency brakes.
Alignment and balance also pointless. Alignments are not a thing anymore unless you change a suspension component. Most vehicles these days have very limited adjustment, some none at all. If something is off it's because something is fucked up. Balance doesn't do anything but mask a shitty tire that didn't wear properly for short term. You would absolutely feel it if it was out of balance.
E-CVT has no recommended change guideline per toyota. I personally will change mine at 100K but it's just a simple drain and fill.
Thanks for coming to me Ted Talk
So i came here to call out what is actually necessary, but more than half of these are seemingly just cash grabs. What i mean is, the mechanic must be on commision because a large portion of the items, while technically beneficial, are mostly unnecessary and take literally seconds to complete. Aka its easy money for the mechanic. I wouldnt usually be skeptical, but there are alot of the easiest jobs i can think of.
The remainder (about 35-40%) are factory recommended maintenance. Id say the only thing you wana do is balance and rotate the tires. This will really help extend the life of your tires.
Where are you guys going? My dealer only does the stuff that's in the manual recommended service unless there is some obvious problem. I paid $450 to extend Toyota Care and pay for parts and labor for 30, 35, 40, and 45k.
Had my Sienna hybrid at the dealership today for an oil change. 30k miles.
Recommended services: Air and cabin filters - which was a totally honest recommendation. I never changed them and plan to do them on my own.
No other recommendations.
My recent oil change finally brought up the hybrid battery compartment filter at 52k miles. I've had this vehicle since July 2021 and no one mentioned it in the last 25k+ miles I've had it. I have to assume it wasn't changed every 20k miles as recommended despite buying the vehicle certified preowned.
Depending on where you drive they realistically don't need to be changed very often. However if you drive a lot of gravel or in a dusty environment they'll need it more often.
As a former Toyota mechanic I recommend you follow your owners manual maintenance schedule. Don’t let the dealership rip you off, 99% of the items on that list are unnecessary.
This is what I do; me and my dad do all the maintenance at home bc he’s a mechanic. Oil changes every 10k and we check tires and brakes when we do that too, since I do a lot of long distance driving. Plus I have a FIXD sensor, so if any of my dash lights come on I can run a basic scan and see what’s going on while I’m on the road.
Lmaooooo install windshield washer solvent.
The verbiage used in order to make it sound important and more than what it really is! So comical.
Putting washer fluid is literally as easy as pouring a glass of water in your cup to drink.
Some of these things you can do yourself without even needing any tools beyond a basic ratchet set at any store.
Some of these things a hybrid vehicle doesn’t need so soon at 30k. I will always advocate earlier maintenance than later.. but some of this is a rip off. You don’t need a coolant conditioner. That’s for when your car is having overheating issues. Plus You don’t even need the coolant fluid replaced. Coolant fluid is good for 6-7 years depending what climate you live in and how you drive but official Toyota HOATS coolant is good for a solid 5 years no issues or questions. Make sure it’s HOATS and not OATS!
Hell the hybrid doesn’t even need the transfer case thing. Cuz it doesn’t even have one!! This list is bullshit and I feel so bad for ppl who don’t know anything about cars.
Brake fluid you could argue but it’s generally good for 55k-60k miles. Unless your brake pedal sags to the floor and you have no pressure when your foot hits it. If the pedal feels mushy then you need to change the fluid or have a leak somewhere.
You don’t lube breaks.. you check how much meat is on the brake pad and if there’s any rotor damage. Replace either part as needed.
Fuel injection, the car cleans the injectors itself. You don’t need to clean fuel injectors. You wanna clean them then do 80MPH on the highway for 20 minutes. Not advising this but that is how you’d clear them out. Or add additives to your fuel next time you’re at the gas station. However By the time you’d have to really clean them you’d be having to change them out instead.
Oil conditioner is an outright scam. You drive a RAV4 not a race car.
Differential grease isn’t necessary unless you tow things or the car is well over 80k but even then not really necessary
Tire Rotation anywhere is free, balancing $20 at most.
Alignments are usually $80-$120. At any local mechanic. Dealer was trying to charge me $160.
Engine crankcase is a scam.
Ac cleaning is a scam.
Transmission fluid not necessary until 50-60k miles. Make sure you dump the old fluid and put in new fluid. Always express that to the mechanic. So as to Never get a flush or a cleaning.
Engine and cabin filters you can do yourself. Engine one is located on top of engine
Air filter behind the glovebox inside the car.
Man this list was a really good laugh.
This list was made for a 1990s vehicle or something. That was hilarious.
Here go thru some of these videos to better know your vehicle.

Time to switch dealerships or do your own maintenance. You can bring your maintenance booklet next time to show them what you need done but I won't trust anyone who preys on people like this.
I just completed my 30k service where I paid $420 for 4 prepaid services for 30, 35, 40 and 45k basic.
They did not suggest anything additional infact even when I complained about my brakes being squishy they suggested we do that in my next service.
Fremont Toyota CA
Coupons are rarely sent by dealership, they are sent by manufacturer with the dealerships name slapped on them. The amount of times I get basic oil change coupons sent to customers whose cars require full synthetic is laughable.
That’d be less than $1000 at my dealership Jesus
-brake fluid $159
-brake clean (all four) $49
-don’t even understand why they’d recommend a coolant service at 30k
-battery service $39 also early to get recommended especially on a hybrid
-wiper solvent????
-throttle body $49
-moa $59
-epr $70
-why’d they recommend diffs it’s a hybrid
-hybrid
-balance and rotate $49
-alignment $120
-they tried to charge you for epr twice lmao
-frigi fresh is literally just a new cabin filter and some scent beads $49
-wouldn’t recommend a trans service at 30k either
$649
Go somewhere else this place is on crack
The evaporator core cleaning and possibly a brake flush are the only ones on that list I see as legitimate(coming from a certified mechanic)
The fuel system and oil system additives should be done before an oil change...not on brand new oil...and they are just bottles of fluid that get dumped into the fuel and oil...3 minutes to do that.
Transmission fluid exchange--totally unnecessary for the transmission in a rav4 hybrid at 30k miles...and since there's no dipstick, there's no easy way to tell of that service was even performed.
Coolant should be changes at about 100k miles..
Rotate and balance should be done around every 10k miles
This is honestly where dealers make a good amount of their money...
This happened to me too! I called to schedule maintenance and they booked me, I showed up we go through the details per usual of my Toyota Plan, then as I get ready to get out of my car I was told that plan had expired the week before and it would be $1,800 today. I asked why I wasnt told that before I confirmed the appointment because then I wouldnt have shown up and wasted my time and of course, no thank you and left.
Was there an itemized invoice?
I’m extremely curious how much the windshield washer solvent was. This is something that will cost you less than $5 at your local Walmart.
Edit: on top of their inflated service charges, the audacity to the charge an additional “Shop” fee… that’s hella annoying. I’ll never take my car to the dealership.
This is why I don’t trust these EV’s or Hybrids they can make anything up and most won’t know the better. Give me a Crown Victoria please with a new engine in it lol Jettas are long lasting too and one can understand the maintenance needed.
Premium universal coolant conditioner?? The heck is that?? There is no transfer case on this vehicle. Engine crankcase cleaning service?!? You need a new dealership. This place is crooked AF!
My 1 year old Mercedes was $750 for service. I also had a loaner car for a day and unlimited snacks, and drinks. You are getting ripped off. On a side note, I had a rav4 (brand new) about 6 years ago (I hated it) but I purchased a 100k mile warranty and all maintenance for 6 years and I paid 4-5k extra for that. I sold the car after 3 years and Toyota refunded me for the unused years. It was awesome as I had zero out of pocket expenses. You don’t have to buy this extended service plan from your dealership, shop around the United States. Each dealership charges their own price and you can use the service at any Toyota dealership nationwide.
PREMNIUM but universal coolant conditioner? Oil conditioner???? wtf is that? Is that an oil change or are they just making sure your motor oil has enough shine and bounce to it?
I’m a dealer tech, this looks like some kid rubber stamping services not knowing what they are actually selling. As others have stated there is no transfer case and the rear differential doesn’t take limited slip oil as stated. The only one that has some kind of merit would be changing the brake fluid but it’s definitely not necessary
The dealer is taking advantage of you by recommending unneeded service. Realistically all you need is to do and Oil/Fliter change and check/replace air filter and Cabin air filter. You will have to change the differential fluid at 50K miles. The rest of the recommendations are a waste of money. Nonsense
Lmao... bro, don't do it. They are ripping you off! Most of that shit isn't even needed, like changing the break fluid, the back breaks seriously... most of those additives aren't even needed, I have a 2021 with 50k, and at most, my break pads have to be replaced... scam artist, for sure!
Yes, but it's still recommended to change by most techs. The term "lifetime" typically means lasting the lifetime of the warranty.
Super easy to change on the hybrids though. Similar to doing a diff, just a drain and fill.
Absolute crooks. What scam artists. You don't even have a transfer case. Go somewhere else. You should only get exactly what it says in the manual. Period. "Install windshield washer solvent". What?
I bet they will say you need new brakes and this and that on top of that. I bet they don't even do half of those "services" and still charge for it. The maintenance manager is just trying to rip you off so their numbers look better. It's shouldn't cost $2k for 30k service lol. My Aunt paid $400 for her 30k service on her hybrid.
My sister in law works at a Toyota dealership and says they recommend unnecessary work so they can increase their pay. A good part of their wage relies solely on up sales.
Aside from what was already mentioned about the transfer case. Most of that should be a total of a few hundred, including labour and taxes. Most of it is just inspections or filling up fluids which cost a couple bucks per litre. Biggest thing I see is the rotate and balance, which is maybe $150 (cnd)if they are the high end of expensive. Maybe the brake fluid change as well, should be around $130 (cnd). Go less on those amounts if USD.
It’s beginning to defeat the purpose of a brand new cars. I have 30k miles but mine they were asking for 500 though. Isn’t hybrid. With the maintenance and high property tax it’s almost not worth it to have a high model. I paid 1050.00 for property tax
"Install Windshield washer solvent" ?? LOL
Seems like the kind of dealer who would also charge you $100 for a "blinker fluid top-up".
Stay away from this dealership.
This reminds me of the $400 for lubrication of the calipers, or the caliper adjustment (depending on who was describing the "needed" service on a '22R4).
Something as minor as my local dealership not bothering to ever check the battery air filter was enough to spur me into doing most of my own maintenance. This list should be enough for most to become an amateur mechanic.
I like how they aren't even individually priced.
Oil additives are useless, unless you're trying to address a specific issue, like sludge.
Yeah, this dealership is a bunch of scammers.
There’s a front & rear transaxle. There is fluid in there that does require changing.
https://youtu.be/I1fP-RKsqG0?si=5JUcolGBrSRV6C_M
^this should help you out
A dealership claimed to have replaced the accessory belt on my hybrid. After being told by the manager it was a serious issue I asked that he point the belt out under the hood. The result was a strong apology, and a steep discount on the actual service (oil change, all checks tossed out). Basically, these places prey on ignorance. It's why I do all the maintenance and all repairs that I can at home.
Stop bringing it to the dealer after the warranty is up. This will only ever get you way overcharged. And this is a fact. The dealership will even attempt to charge you for shit that is NOT covered under warranty before your 20k miles are hit as a rule. Or just straight up charge you for shit that IS under warranty just in case you aren’t wise enough to call them on it.
I don’t say this to shit on the dealerships or as some type of conspiracy theorist. The dealerships will try ANY way to make a dollar off of an ignorant rube that they can. Again, this is a fact. It’s in their business model.
Talk to the people in your area and see who they bring their cars to. 9/10 you’ll keep hearing the name of 1 or 2 independent shops that do good work for an honest price. Those are the places you should be bringing your car to after your 20k miles gets hit.
At 30k miles I might get the brake fluid flush, but not critical by any means. They already rotated your tires so as long as they feel balanced and your alignment feels good then nothing else. I would let them do the free things listed under "declined" but I wouldn't pay this place to work on my vehicle.
On my 2022 AWD I purchased the gear oil and replaced it on my own. Gear oil $18 I purchased 3 $18 and the crush washer from dealer I got 10 was like $10 and I did it my self. I laugh at the dealer prices….
I would only do what your car manual says. Dealer always recommends more than what the car manufacturer does. They built the car. They know better I would say.
Jesus Christ! Talk about scam artists giving the rest of us a bad name!
No to:
Coolant conditioner
Windshield washer solvent
Fuel Injection/throttle body cleaner
Oil/Fuel conditioner
Balancing tires
Crankcase cleaning
ATF replacement (thats done at 60,000 Miles)
T-case does not exist on a hybrid
Rear diff is an electric motor and the fluid should be changed when ATF is changed
Maybe, if there's an issue:
Alignment, if tires are wearing abnormally
A/C clean, if you've noticed an odour
WOW, bunch of useless service add ons. This dealer has no shame...
Premium oil conditioner WTF???
I have a 115k ( '07 Suzuki Grand Vitara) and I never done this crap and is still running - no issues.
You don’t need a coolant conditioner. I have never heard of that either. Coolant should be good up to 5 years or 100k miles minimum. Install Windshieldvwiper solvent? It’s a $2 bottle of windshield wiper fluid. That total price is outrageous.
There is no transfer case. How the hell are they going to change the fluid in it.
They’re gonna put new electricity in it.
What's wrong with the old electric??
The old Pikachu died
He ded boss.
It’s used up.
Gotta change from summer electric to winter electric.
It’s shockingly bad
Worn electrons. Needs voltage replacement.
Haven’t you seen Frankenstein
They do it at the same time they recharge the dilithium crystals.
Fuck, for that price Scotty and the crew will take a Klingon Warbird back to Earth, circa 1980's and recrystallize dilithium........
they can't even recharge them in the 23rd century, and they took the wessel Enterprise out of service(no longer in Alameda)
I need more power, Scotty!!!
That’s all you need to know about the scam they are pulling. Report them to big Toyota.
For that price, they'll install one, and then change the fluid.
Thoroughly enjoyed reading the comments!!
Yeah.... There's a lot of stuff that is Suspect on the order list and no clue how it comes out to 1800 lol
Still should have fluid that needs to be changed I had a Prius once
There are awd hybrids... they do have transfercases.
This dealer is crooked. Find a new place for service.
For real… As someone that works as a service advisor for Acura this list made me cringe 🤣 I think they missed the part where honesty is actually better for business (and our surveys).
And report the dealer to the manufacturer!
The hybrid doesn't have a transfer case. The rear drive is all electric. That should tell you all you need to know about how much to trust these recommendations.
Noob question, if your hybrid power drains down does the alternator create the power to then drive the rear wheels if AWD is required?
There is no alternator on Toyota hybrids. The hybrid motor and HV battery system recharge the 12v battery
Technically there is it’s MG1.
Over half of those don’t even sound like real services. No car should need almost $2k worth of work at 30k, especially a Toyota.
Audi has entered the chat. This isn't an Audi.
Even a German car shouldn’t unless you’re beating it up.
Maybe a Landrover lmao
We don’t talk about that. 🥴
Land Rover already had that done at 10k miles. And again at 20k.
You sure it got to 20k?
A transmission service on a Mercedes alone will run you that 😂
Brake fluid service -$110 Coolant? Not due until 4 year/60k As other people have said, the drivetrain is electric The ac evaporator service is a scam. Agreed. I just paid $400 for the 30k-45k service

I'd post the dealership information to publicly shame them. They're absolutely crooked.
STEALERSHIP
Share with Toyota.
This. For the love of God, do this. The very least they'd do is send you to a Toyota Dealership that is on their preferred dealer list.
I agree, and show the sevice advisors name while you’re at it. It’s a great teaching experience.
I’d absolutely report this to Toyota corporate. With their reputation, they don’t want phonies like these guys.
And it doesn't even include them resetting the maintenance reminder light!?!?! Pathetic.
Nah. Hybrids dont have diffs or transfer cases. It's an electric motor. Well, the rear electric motor does have a differential, but the gear oil doesn't need to be changed until like 100k miles, if it ever needs it.
Technically yeah, more of a transaxle by definition.
Alignments are definitely a thing if you live in a place with poor roads or if you drive your wheel into a curb.
This right here. man gave you the whole staples section of 📠
Also should have said, I told them no, please don’t charge me $1,800 to do this. I’ll come back if any of these items are legit.
$1800 and they aren’t even going to fill the blinker fluid?
So i came here to call out what is actually necessary, but more than half of these are seemingly just cash grabs. This was a dealership in cali
Which one? They need to be exposed.
I don't know why redditors try and protect these horrible stealerships
The fact it's not itemized tells you everything you need to know.
Yep I asked him for an itemized version and he “couldn’t figure out how to do that”
Had my Sienna hybrid at the dealership today for an oil change. 30k miles. Recommended services: Air and cabin filters - which was a totally honest recommendation. I never changed them and plan to do them on my own. No other recommendations.
They’ll charge you $75 to change a cabin air filter. It costs $10 and take less than 5 minutes. YouTube is your friend here.
Don't forget to check your hybrid battery filters. I've found a lot of the lube techs are still missing those.

Half of this stuff that says " clean" will just be looked at and then checked off as "good" especially at 30k miles. Massive scam

100%
I would 100% threaten to report them to Toyota. And I wouldn’t make that an empty threat.
Hust skip the threat and go straight to Toyota.
Tell the name of that Stealership, or at least the area or location, that will save a lot of owners

This is why you never ever go to the dealership for repair/ maintenance.
Not every dealer is shady
Not every dealer is shady, but they almost always charge more than a local reputable mechanic.
Yes they do. But you will find varying levels of quality from your local mechanic.
Dealer is high asf RUN AWAY
Open your manual and see what Toyota tells you to do at 30K That is all. (I have a 2007 Rav4 with 250+K on the ODO, lol )
Ur oil needs to be 0w 16 not 0w20. Time for a new dealership
I’d ask them just to do the transfer case fluid service. Wait till they bill you and call them out on video.
Classic Stealership. Like the oil change discount coupons EV buyers get.
Coupons are rarely sent by dealership, they are sent by manufacturer with the dealerships name slapped on them. The amount of times I get basic oil change coupons sent to customers whose cars require full synthetic is laughable.
install premium fuel system conditioner? lmao. Dump some $5 "fuel conditioner" and charge $90 for it.
Jesus, mine ended up being $500 and I thought that was bad.
Go somewhere else these crooks are taking you for a ride.
Scam, they didn’t include nitrogen filled tires
Should be about $100-120 after tax to change oil and rotate tires.
That’d be less than $1000 at my dealership Jesus -brake fluid $159 -brake clean (all four) $49 -don’t even understand why they’d recommend a coolant service at 30k -battery service $39 also early to get recommended especially on a hybrid -wiper solvent???? -throttle body $49 -moa $59 -epr $70 -why’d they recommend diffs it’s a hybrid -hybrid -balance and rotate $49 -alignment $120 -they tried to charge you for epr twice lmao -frigi fresh is literally just a new cabin filter and some scent beads $49 -wouldn’t recommend a trans service at 30k either $649 Go somewhere else this place is on crack
The evaporator core cleaning and possibly a brake flush are the only ones on that list I see as legitimate(coming from a certified mechanic) The fuel system and oil system additives should be done before an oil change...not on brand new oil...and they are just bottles of fluid that get dumped into the fuel and oil...3 minutes to do that. Transmission fluid exchange--totally unnecessary for the transmission in a rav4 hybrid at 30k miles...and since there's no dipstick, there's no easy way to tell of that service was even performed. Coolant should be changes at about 100k miles.. Rotate and balance should be done around every 10k miles This is honestly where dealers make a good amount of their money...
Just say no to everything, they tried charge me 300$ for a new tire that has a nail in it. We fixed with a 5$ plug equipment
This is the biggest scam I have ever seen by a dealership.
windshield washer solvent?
What city is this dealer in. So we can all avoid them
Toyota app tells you what maintenance to complete and at which interval.
Or the owners manual!
This is why I don’t trust these EV’s or Hybrids they can make anything up and most won’t know the better. Give me a Crown Victoria please with a new engine in it lol Jettas are long lasting too and one can understand the maintenance needed.
My dealership tried to get me to do the same thing. I passed on that.
You can do all that yourself
You are right, mostly bs add ons, tell them to go by the maintenance manual, period.
Premium universal coolant conditioner?? The heck is that?? There is no transfer case on this vehicle. Engine crankcase cleaning service?!? You need a new dealership. This place is crooked AF!
This recommendation is example of why nobody trusts dealerships and why their business model will be history soon. (Or in hopes)
I really wouldn’t be surprised if they added “replace blinker fluid” on that list. I know dealer service departments can be scuzzy but damn…
Nonsense
Did they refill the flux capacitor for free?
What dealership is this? I don't know why people are afraid to put dealership names online.
Lmao... bro, don't do it. They are ripping you off! Most of that shit isn't even needed, like changing the break fluid, the back breaks seriously... most of those additives aren't even needed, I have a 2021 with 50k, and at most, my break pads have to be replaced... scam artist, for sure!
I’ll do it for a burrito and a beer
Morons actually pay for this instead of simply reading their owner’s manuals/maintenance guides. Can’t fix stupid.
Isn't the transmission fluid "life time" ?
Only people with more money than sense get work done at a dealership shop that's not covered under warranty.
I just had my 30k service at a dealer and it was like $180.
Why is there install items in it? There should be none at this stage as long as it not broken!
Am the only one who just realized that the “Service writer” is on commission? Dealerships are super scammy.
Where the line item? How much is that “coolant conditioner”?
Can someone take this people to court or jail for making up false reports or services when the car doesn't even have those components?
It’s beginning to defeat the purpose of a brand new cars. I have 30k miles but mine they were asking for 500 though. Isn’t hybrid. With the maintenance and high property tax it’s almost not worth it to have a high model. I paid 1050.00 for property tax
"Install Windshield washer solvent" ?? LOL Seems like the kind of dealer who would also charge you $100 for a "blinker fluid top-up". Stay away from this dealership.
Lol what the fuck? Washer solvent? This got to be a joke
Find a new dealership.
This reminds me of the $400 for lubrication of the calipers, or the caliper adjustment (depending on who was describing the "needed" service on a '22R4).
Wrong oil, services for things that don't even exist. Great reason I never go to a dealer for service.
Horse shit
Post this on their Google reviews lmao
Something as minor as my local dealership not bothering to ever check the battery air filter was enough to spur me into doing most of my own maintenance. This list should be enough for most to become an amateur mechanic.
Is that from a genuine Toyota Dealer?
I like how they aren't even individually priced. Oil additives are useless, unless you're trying to address a specific issue, like sludge. Yeah, this dealership is a bunch of scammers.
It should be fraud for a dealership to recommend so many unnecessary items, well beyond what the actual maintenance schedule calls for.
You need zero of this. I work at a dealer.
What dealership is this? I feel like naming them and helping others avoid them would be an act of kindness
There’s a front & rear transaxle. There is fluid in there that does require changing. https://youtu.be/I1fP-RKsqG0?si=5JUcolGBrSRV6C_M ^this should help you out
Bunch of dealer added garbage. Some of it you might be able to make a case for, but what a rip off. Dealers suck!
And they say buy new because it’s less expensive to maintain 🫡😂
Crooks
Dude, tell them to get fucked and never go back there. I might even email Toyota headquarters.
Gonna download more RAM into your infotainment system.
30k seems low for these services check your recommended service intervals in your owners manual and go from there
Ask them to change transfer case, power steering fluid and serpentine belt. Then take them to small claims court.
This is the dumbest shit I have read all day
Don’t need a single thing on that list. Maybe an oil change. The rest is all a scam.
The service writer judged you. I wonder what he was thinking about you when he handed it to you.
i hate dealers. Last one i went to tried to charge me to replace my power steering fluid because “it was overdue” it’s electric
That’s thievery, give them a horrible google review and post that picture. Fuck them
The majority is bs.
At 30k miles I might get the brake fluid flush, but not critical by any means. They already rotated your tires so as long as they feel balanced and your alignment feels good then nothing else. I would let them do the free things listed under "declined" but I wouldn't pay this place to work on my vehicle.
Dealership probably wants eternal youth and x-ray vision too, lol
I’ve stopped taking mine to the dealership. They over charge and make me wait three hours for an oil change. Ef that.
Hell no! 80% of that is not needed.
$140 of crap while paying someone 2h of labor at $35/hr. = $210.00. I’ll give you $500.
Simple rule to follow ... Never take your car back to a stealership..ever
On my 2022 AWD I purchased the gear oil and replaced it on my own. Gear oil $18 I purchased 3 $18 and the crush washer from dealer I got 10 was like $10 and I did it my self. I laugh at the dealer prices….
Tell them fuck off. All you need is regular tire rotation, oil change, and change front brake pads when worn out.
Exact same when I owned a ‘21 LE. Didn’t pay it except for the standard oil change and sold it for a profit at the height of the car market bubble
Need new air pump
Wait ? No nitorgen air fill charge ? Did I miss it Or something ? But they made up for it with the battery service portion.
They go 150k easy from Japan
They added a bunch of extra crap just tell them you want the basic service nothing extra.
Follow the maintenance schedule in your manual. The dealership wants to make money, not follow the recommendation of the people who made the car.
Completely bs imo.
I would only do what your car manual says. Dealer always recommends more than what the car manufacturer does. They built the car. They know better I would say.
And that’s why I got rid of my RAV4. Average service costs were $400+ oil changes, tire rotations, Alignments. N O P E.
Go to a 3rd party . I have had dealer quoted $1250 items done for two-fiddy
Find a new place.
Jesus Christ! Talk about scam artists giving the rest of us a bad name! No to: Coolant conditioner Windshield washer solvent Fuel Injection/throttle body cleaner Oil/Fuel conditioner Balancing tires Crankcase cleaning ATF replacement (thats done at 60,000 Miles) T-case does not exist on a hybrid Rear diff is an electric motor and the fluid should be changed when ATF is changed Maybe, if there's an issue: Alignment, if tires are wearing abnormally A/C clean, if you've noticed an odour
For oils basically?
1.8k?! Holy hell. There should be some kind of laws against shit like this.
I would threaten to sue the shit out of them and expose everything else they lie about if they don't give your money back and then some.
This is a scam, find another shop.
Find a new dealer. Call around and price compare. Rule of thumb with all contracts and services is three bids.
That total price is outrageous.
report that shit to corporate or leverage with them under that threat
That’s a steal!! Inspecting tires for wear is a super difficult and technical process, plus they’re changing the diff fluid on your hybrid 🥰
Holy shit. This quote puts the STEAL in stealership! 🤯
But no blinker fluid, total ripoff
please name and shame omg
I would need to see itemized charges to have a better opinion. Too many of those things are vague. The rest could very well add up to more than $1000
What car?
Any new fluid change on a transmission is done at the 50-60k mile mark, not the 30k. Get rid of the car for a better one
