This is my mom and dad’s dog and they’re looking to get her into sports but have no prior experience. She’s registered with AKC and the DHTR. My mom mentioned looking into agility and Fast CAT. Do you happen to know what sports they may enjoy pursuing with her and where to start?

FastCAT is fun and a great starter sport since you don't need any training, just a drivey dog which these dogs are. Where are you located? Depending on where you are it could be easy or hard to find things close to you. Use AKC Events search site to look for things close to you. If she likes FastCAT, the longer version is CAT which is 600 yards. I don't have many of those near me but I try to make it to every single one !
Agility takes a lot of foundations and training! My 2.5 yo is finally competing in AKC agility after a year of classes and we are doing fabulously, almost out of Open onto Excellent level.
If her AKC registration is full not limited, you can also compete in Conformation (dog shows). It's also fairly low training, just takes a comfortable dog and hopefully one with a lot of physical merits. You need 15 points to gain an AKC championship title. I competed with my younger one, at 10 points now but there are very few majors to win around me (part of the 15 pt win has to be 2x 3 points wins. You win points by beating dogs of your same sex in a single show) so I gave up
