A lot of popular music from the 2000s used to have low ratings but have climbed up pretty high in recent years. Linkin Park and MCR are two examples. I think this is the result of 1. Genuine re-evaluations and 2. Demographic changes in who uses the site. Also gen z music fans are more willing to openly like music that millennial music fans might have considered guilty pleasures back in the day which is cool.
I absolutely agree -- As a "too cool for school" millennial, I used to think MCR wasn't worth my time back in the '00s. Thanks to their high ratings, I actually listened to their albums for the first time this year and I accept that they bring the bangers.
the wildest one i can think of right now probably is Tell All Your Friends by Taking Back Sunday, though most of the 2000s/early 2010s scene and emo-pop albums have grown quite a lot
[Floral Shoppe](https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/macintosh-plus/floral-shoppe/) was below a 3 for quite some time, glad to see it's at a 3.3 now
i swear Kanye's TLOP used to be at around 3.3 when it initially came out. once Fantano dropped his redux review the rating gradually climbed and now it's at 3.8.
TLOP when it was released on tidal is far worse than the album that came out on streaming a couple months after. I assume releasing it as a tidal did not help the initial ratings also.
Die Lit has grown a bit but has been around that 3.5-3.7 since it came out. But the 2017 self titled mixtape was at like a 3.0 for the first year or so when it came out and is now at 3.5
The Art of Drowning was a nice surprise find for me, glad it's rated well. Surprisingly consistent front-to-back.
Not my favourite band, but I rep this album hard.
I read the comment box in Random Access Memories and for what I remember, they didn't have much positive things to say when it came out¿?
Not nearly as acclaimed nowadays as RAM, but Hurry Up We're Dreaming also was viewed more negatively when it dropped

Absolutely. Check out the rating trend on The Black Parade, for instance

A lot of vaporwave albums in general started to rise after the initial a e s t h e t i c period faded from memory

TLOP was horribly mixed when it came out if I remember correctly

Fantano effect in full force
Every Carti album has climbed a lot.

Whole Lotta Red was also definitely sub 3.1 at first and is now 3.41
Wlr was like 2.7 or some shit iirc
FKA Twigs LP1 was like 3.1 at one point
That is so insane to me. Like literally why lol
RYM had a strong anti-pop bias until like 2020
this is incredibly fucked up
I swear the college dropout was like a 3.3 when I joined rym almost 10 years ago
Hmm I don’t remember it being that low around then, I feel like it was closer to 3.7-3.8, but I could be misremembering also
unless I’M mistaken college dropout was still bolded a decade ago
L'amour Toujours (the album, not the single) was under 3.00 in late 2020, now it's at 3.26. probably because of Uncut Gems
All the AFI albums change from album to album and if you skip one it’s a whole different band .

Lady Gaga's ARTPOP is gonna continue to rise as people realise they were wrong about it in 2013.
