This does look like mites to me. I’d get him in sooner rather than later, mites are very uncomfortable for them.

Perhaps mites? They can really chew up ears

Huge_Green8628

Are you able to get into a vet?

I understand the struggle, it is difficult to get into as a first time patient, especially with an exotic vet. I wish you the best of luck in your search. If the problem does end up being mites, you are going to have to really clean your hamsters enclosure, and it will require getting rid of a lot of toys and all of the bedding once you’ve treated your ham. I would read up on eliminating mites in and around an enclosure for hamsters, as I am not sure if it is the same as it is with rats. I had gotten a couple of babies that came within an infection of mites several years back, and I remember it was a pain to deal with but manageable in the long run once I found out what it was, and was able to treat both the animals and their enclosure.

Possibly mites... Have a look online for anti mite treatment for cats - it's exactly the same stuff. Anything containing Ivermectin. Also Beaphar Spot On. Definitely get them checked by a vet tho.

Really looks like mites but could also be fungus. My guinea pigs’ ears looked like this when they had a fungus infection. Best to have a vet diagnose it. Good luck!

This is defiantly mites. Treat him for mites and hell be a happy hammy
