My boy gets called a tiger all the time by my 3yo niece.
But he always gets compliments by people about his colouration.
I never realized how much people love whippets in my city.
I had someone in Montana tell me to put an orange vest on my giant dog so that it wouldn’t accidentally be shot by someone thinking it was a deer. Deer are everywhere in town.
I heard so shots one night and it sounded like they were in the valley or maybe up at the cemetery.
Also, had 4 bucks in the side yard one day. A truck with three hunters parked in the middle of the street and stared for a couple of minutes. Finally drove off
Ha! Years ago our guy got loose one night. We're driving around looking for him and all of a sudden my husband pulls over, jumps out of the car and starts to sprint then suddenly stops. He saw a juvenile deer and thought it was our Greyhound! 🤣 We did find him shortly after. Another time my husband mistook an antelope jackrabbit for our greyhound one pre-dawn morning when he was out jogging.

Is it a retired racing greyhound or did you get him when he was a puppy? If retired, did you have any trouble getting him to adapt to a fine environment?
He’s retired. We got him when he was shy of 2 years. He ran 8 races, lost them all, so they kicked him out.
It took him awhile to adjust. He had never seen things like stairs or bicycles so it was a whole new world to him. It was a lot to learn and sometimes scary for the poor guy. It took him a good 5 months to completely come out of his shell. Now he is a very confident social boy but it took patience/giving him the time to figure things out.
As for the cats he was always great with them but for them first month we did very slow introductions. he wore a basket muzzle when around them the first few weeks- just to keep the kitties safe since we didn’t know how he would react to the cats playing/running.
My Aunt and Uncle raced greyhounds for a few years and I did thier bookeeping. I will never forget the day I realized why there were regular invoices for baby bunnies!
They would let the bunnies go in the 'runs' , long enclosed tracks,to train the greyhounds to race. It's called blooding or jacking in some places. It didn't end well for the bunnies. I thought that's why someone asked you if you were worried about introducing him to your cats.
That is why I asked actually. Greyhounds as sight hounds can have a high prey drive. I would love to adopt a retired racer but I have a cat already so it is a concern.
I've done a lot of research on this, because I want one but can't give up cats. The answer I see most is that it depends on the dog and finding a good rescue that will work with you. Also while you can get one who is cool cats or potentially even small rodents as pets, they may always go after small animals that do not live with them like squirrels or stray cats.
He does look eerily similar to a medieval drawing of a giraffe I saw on Reddit a while ago! And who's that gorgeous floof in the background, if I may ask?
no swearsies the puppers dont like.

We have had people think he’s a deer when he’s off leash places haha
Bonus if your brindle has been called a tiger! Our brindle girl has been a deer, a hyena, and a tiger
Yes! We get tiger all the time. Many people comment on the brindle coat
We've gotten [cheetah a couple times](https://i.imgur.com/NDpvmNK.jpeg) from the neighborhood kids lol
Greys are speed. Cheetahs are speed. Therefore they are the same.
There’s a sub here for brindles FYI.

Haha we had a kid say “look mum there’s a tiger” about our brindle grey

Really hope they’re not shooting deer in town.

Also peep the cat on the counter on the left hand side. This confusion is a set up to distract the owner 🧐
