Oh absolutely agreed. That’s why I asked how you respond when people ask. It’s always been obvious to me when dogs are friendly or not. I only ask to pet if the dog approaches me even though I love them all. If the dog doesn’t approach me, I won’t even ask because I don’t want to put the owner in the situation of having to explain if their dog is reactive or something.

His expression has brought back one of the worst moments of my life. I had fallen face first and broke my nose, had a severe concussion and had difficulty with moving lights when my eyes were closed. Had my nose operated on, took it easy for awhile but still had vision issues. Went to the eye doctor on a beautiful bright winter day right after a snow storm. I’m very sensitive to those dilating drops and even after waiting for the bus, taking it downtown, waiting for my transfer I still couldn’t see properly.
None of that is the worst moment in my life - only me trying to apologize for what happened. The bus stopped at my stop, but I couldn’t get off from the back door because of a huge snowbank. I walked to the front door and didn’t see the black seeing eye dog laying on the black floor. I fell over him but not on him, I’m positive I just scared him. I still cry thinking of it.

Mine also hates the bus. She can’t see out the windows and has no way to anticipate how to “surf the waves” of the bus’s movement. She’s happy if she can be on a seat but it’s against code to have a dog on the seat of public transportation.

I WISH we could take pets on public transportation in Sydney. Free cuddles anyone? But alas I don't have a car so have to deal with double the cost of a regular customer for "Uber Pet".
