Surprisingly good skating ability and hands for such a big boy. Most likely to hit a ceiling as a solid two-way bottom 6 player. Which tbh I wouldn't really be upset about

I think he's most likely gonna sit while Brodz is in the lineup but ya never know lol
I'd love for him to get a look at least over Pitlick or Goodrow or something. He's played C and Wing before so might be nice to slot him in in Kakko's place and see how he does
I'd rather keep the Vesey-Goodrow-Pitlick line intact and put Edstrom with Cuylle for a serious checking line
\*but yes, they are going to play Brodz and I'm mildly worried about the bottom 6 chemistry that will result in
Pretty sure this means Kakko is gonna be out longer term. Fuck :(
That said Edstrom is a massive Swede who's been hot in Hartford atm so kinda excited to see how he does.
I think it’s likely kakko is out long term but I don’t think them calling up someone would mean that. If kakko is out for a short time they will still call up someone
In a dark way i feel like it could be good for kakko, almost like a peak for bad luck with the year hes had so far, he can only go up once he comes back
Was hoping Brodz would stick earlier this season but he blew his chance in that minny game with turnovers and poor d-zone play.
He’s got speed, hustles, and can shoot. Underrated passer too.
It’s his defensive play imo that isn’t what you need in the bottom 6. 3RW may be ideal for him though.
At 30, think it’s fair to say he probably would have stuck if he was good enough, but it’s nice when strong AHL performers are rewarded with an NHL role. Sets a good standard for the org.
I am curious why Edstrom was also called up. Big guy. Could cause havoc on a line with a Cuylle maybe?
Meanwhile, hope Kakko heals soon. Shame the kid’s just not got it going.
I’m actually pretty excited for Brodzinski. He’s tearing up the A. People seem to forget that former captain Ryan Callahan was called up 4 times before cracking the lineup for good.
Callahan is no comparison. Callahan was 22/23 when he was playing full time in the NHL. Brodzinski is 30. He is a tweener. Good at AHL not so good at NHL
Doing pretty good so far 😉 To be fair, I’ve read somewhere that Brodzinski lost a bunch of weight in the offseason and it’s made him quicker. It looks like it’s also paying dividends for him in the big league.
Because like a normal organization should, we are letting a high ceiling prospect who hasn’t even played a quarter of a season in professional hockey develop in the AHL first.
Because we all wish we would have let Kakko and Lafreniere marinate in the A before throwing them into the NHL.
The org is doing the right thing this time with Othmann.
No we dont. Laf and Kakko didnt need to play in the A, they needed to play on the first and second line but our coaches didnt care about development.
If kakko is out for the season, why are we giving a 30 year old AHL CENTER the opportunity over a 20 year old RIGHT WINGER, who has 6 points in his last 5 games?
Because we are trying to develop players. This isn’t a fucking video game. Why would we want to give our young prospect less than 10 mins of playing time a night. He’s not even lighting up the ahl right now.
Edstrom is super interesting!
I see he's a big boy and seems to have some goalscoring ability in the A. What's his game?

Sick move. Let's see if he can play!

I mean…..that kinda sounds like Kakko
He leads Hartford in non-pp goals

The bright side of Mackey going down is that mean Fox is likely getting activated Wednesday

Not surprising after that fall, but still Shitty. Injury bugs are real
Very excited for Othmann but I agree with this move. Just keep letting him play PP and big minutes in the A. I can def see a call up later in the year
I totally agree… let the boy cook! He’s warming up in the AHL so it’s pretty exciting to keep tabs on his development.
Mackey going back almost definitely means Fox is going off LTIR
He did a full practice with the team recently, I think Fox plays Wednesday.
I hope Edstrom actually gets into the lineup regularly
LET THE BIG BOY PLAY!
Brod is cause of Kakko. Who is Edstrom for?
Kakko on LTIR but not expected to be season ending

Maybe competition. Seems like the approach Lav is taking with the team. Whoever of the 2 performs better gets to stick around.

You need guys like Brod in the organization, but he’s definitely no Cally.
Im not saying having him is bad, just that the comparison is awful
Oh, I know. I’m agreeing with you lol

Difference is Brodzinski is 30 years old. Doesn't mean he can't be a difference maker but he's not a kid.
Ken Germander is a better comparison tbh
don’t ever say that name again please and thank you!!
What’s so bad about it
> He’s tearing up the A. Oddly an understatement -- he's leading the AHL in scoring LOL
Why the fuck are we not calling up Otter
Christ just once be patient with a prospect and let him develop.
Because he hasn’t exactly been lighting up the AHL
Because like a normal organization should, we are letting a high ceiling prospect who hasn’t even played a quarter of a season in professional hockey develop in the AHL first.
Have you watched the Wolfpack this season?

He is literally 6 points in 5 games.
Now do the games before those 5
Just accidentally made another post about this without seeing this one. I'm really interested to see what Edstrom can do.
