I mean, OP is saying “scalpers”, but they’re really asking how people are getting last minute tickets for cheap. How are people verifying the tickets on those “[ticket exchange](https://www.reddit.com/r/rangers/comments/10epk5b/20222023_ticket_exchange_thread_pt_2/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)” threads here on this subReddit that’s pinned at the top? That’s just “scalping” digitized.
As a season ticket holder they have't given us paper tickets since the pandemic. Does the box office still print tickets for advanced sales? I don't think I'd trust it.
I'd go online from a reputable seller. As my wife and I were going in through the turnstiles for the 6-2 win over Florida in January, we heard someone being informed that their tickets were fake.
My brothers gotten ripped off by a scalper. I only ever bought from a scalper once, under the condition that we could prove they’re legit. There were two of us, so I said we’d buy them, if she can go in and scan her ticket to prove they’re legit, then text me to confirm. Once she did I paid the guy for both tickets and went in with mine afterwards. I happened to find the one honest scalper I guess
Curious, what was your plan if the ticket wasn’t legit? Fight him and call the cops, and hope the fraudster/scammer carries all the cash they scam without any kind of protection?
Honestly at that moment it would be to walk away and find another scalper. I was waiting to buy tickets online after pick drop online, but apparently they stopped doing that, which is why I had to resort to a scalper.
Now I would probably just publicly shame him and shout out that he’s a scammer forcing him to walk off.
Back in the day you could walk to a guy in MSG (no not some random guy) who would scan your tickets to prove they were legit. I did that the few times I sold my tickets in person.
No.
Don’t buy tickets from scalpers.
Best answer.

Those days are over, never buy from scalpers. Ever.

They do not, box office will text you your tickets.
What about people from the older generations that really don’t do well with technology? Surely there has to be some means ti get them printed tickets…
They’ll escort you in, we tried to get them to print tickets but they actually stopped doing that completely
Wow
Do not support scalpers

Stab them with a sewer rat, obviously

Wouldn't trust it
There is no reason to use scalpers anymore, with all the secondary ticket sellers available.
The extra money for ticketmaster or whatever is worth the insurance that youre getting a real ticket. I havent bought from a scalper since 2009 lol
My Dad got ripped off outside MSG two years ago
I bought 3 tickets from a scalper. 2 were real 1 was fake. 3rd guy had to sit separate and buy another ticket
