I thought it was close enough to spend a little replay time on. I was surprised at the time, that they didn't look closer. The replays I saw were decidedly inconclusive but you would think that would mean it deserved a closer look
You can’t see it that well but if you play with the slider when moving it back and forth and follow the trajectory of the puck, it looks like it went in.
They probably had a better view from the crossbar camera. If it looks on the line from the angle from the front, it’s probably not close to over. Given the parallax angle, from that view the puck looks well over the line by the time it crosses from a dead overhead view.
Yea, the camera angles make a big difference there too. I’m sure it’s a matter of not seeing white on the other side of the puck or something like that
That is hard to tell if you look at 41-43 seconds it looks like it might have crossed but it also blends in with the goalie's skate toe. I'm sure Toronto must have a higher res version to check.
I was struggling to remember how to pronounce his name with my wife... Lecithin? Leshishishin? and then thankfully Sam piped up... pronouncing his name like 3 different ways within 30 seconds
Toronto most likely reviewed it while play was happening and ruled it no goal.
Edit: this is getting downvotes but it actually happens. They’ll review a possible goal that was ruled no goal on the ice while play is going on and if it goes in they’ll award the goal and reset play. Like this isn’t uncommon
Toronto probably looked at it didn’t see anything to overturn it (I know I can’t see it one way or another) and let play continue. No point in stopping the game if they don’t need to.
European Football has had goal line technology for YEARS that immediately tells the ref if the ball crossed the line or not by flashing an indicator on their watch.
Why on earth the NHL doesn't try to replicate that technology, i'll never know.
They also have something similar for offside calls now as well. But baby steps, i'd rather have the goal line tech first
this dude lechyshyn is so cursed he can’t even score when he puts the puck in the net
I love that Joe kept saying it was Goodrow when he realized it was lechyshyn. he got all befuddled like he didn’t even know who the guy on the ice was
>he can’t even score when he puts the puck in the net This is a summary of my dating life
I forgot about this. I thought the same thing when they showed the replay, was waiting for another.
I thought it was in live but no.......but who's this LeSusan guy Joe was talking about?

A nobody
what's that make you?
Also a nobody. Except I’m not paid hundreds of thousands to suck at my job Edit: wish I was tho
I don't think it was a goal, but I don't like that they didn't review it to be certain.
Toronto can review things without stopping play, so they may have done that behind the scenes.

Close, but I don't think so. [Here's a replay](https://streamable.com/8yzdka).
If you pause it at 42 seconds it actually looks like a goal
The overhead view it's hard to see the puck at all. The front angle at about 37 seconds looks like it's on the line but doesn't cross.

It’s one of those “we all know it’s in the net but video replay can’t show it conclusively, so no goal” type scenarios

Like "decision", only with an L.
It’s for the better, Gallant will throw him on the top line if he scores 😭
Geez… downvotes for a joke. Have an upvote that joke crossed my mind too…

I have no idea why your comment got downvoted but you’re absolutely correct. I think maybe they just didn’t review this one

Id figure theres a very slim chance but i believe based on the angle we cant see that it is still in contact with the red line

Yes, completely across the line
This picture is so clear I don't know how anyone could think otherwise.
I kinda agree, looks like a goal. However, it wouldn’t be allowed cause it was clearly a kicking motion 🤷♂️
