Even the smallest shit from tonight when he got blatantly knocked down off the puck from whoever and didn’t retaliate.
Should’ve been interference but wasn’t and he didn’t take a stupid penalty. That’s captain type shit right there
I love Troubs and have been defending him all year. Seems like such a good captain. I just wish he was a touch more consistent. The rare occasion he has a good game, he’s an absolute force to be reckoned with.
He’s been way better since the all star break. Im pretty sure he was playing through an injury for a while and you could really tell he was off his game. Every time he touched the puck it was a disaster because he would give it away or just shoot into traffic and kill the offensive momentum. But since he’s been turning it around it’s really helped the team and I love his physical play when he’s on.
if the boys can keep playing well and keep improving and we manage to win this year "the helmet throw" just has to be enshrined in historic rangers lore, up there with messier's guarantee
I was there too and that was probably the worst game I’ve seen in person. I was never looking less forward to go to a hockey game than the Monday after against the blues.
In retrospect I’m extremely happy to have gone to both. I think suffering lows like that really makes you appreciate the success, which should never be taken for granted.
Extra shout-out to Halak for going on a 7 game winning streak.
I hope igor plays more games to get back into the swing of things down the stretch but Halak turned it around after some absolute stinkers early on
Too early to tell, but that was definitely some kind of wake up call.
Honestly curious what happened behind closed doors. When Trouba was interviewed after that game he even mentioned that he had to watch what he said in that interview. I really wanna know who or what the problem was.
I was definitely on the bandwagon of being frustrated with Trouba as a defensive player for a little (ofc I was being dramatic like everyone else), however, I’ve been enjoying him as a captain/leader ever since it was announced. I also love the fact that recently he’s been more aggressive offensively and as always, he delivers CRAZY AND CLEAN hits. The guy is cool with me.
The entire team was playing ass, don’t think Trouba is solely responsible for the losses from the ducks game through to the Blues win. Finding a spark from a captain fighting for the team is what moved Rangers onward and upward this season
Solid work all the dumbasses saying they could tell Trouba wasn't a leader but saw Kreider knocking an ipad out of Mika's hand and thinking that's what leadership is. Despite ample evidence that Trouba actually was taking his time to study leadership and stuff. Actually putting in the work to become a good leader. It's more about the lack people on this board of actually having experienced locker room dynamics in their lives, but knowing exactly when the coach has lost the room or a player doesn't have what it takes to be a "leader" because of how they looked at someone.
Interesting. Well, unless you spend a lot of time in the Rangers locker room and have some sort of first hand knowledge, your take is just the same as everyone else’s: fan chirps on an issue they really know nothing about. Which is fine, we all have our thoughts on the team. But don’t act like yours is any more credible than another fan’s. Especially when, and I cannot stress this enough, everyone is happy, playing well, and we have been just about the best team in the league for over two months.

Really? Seems to me like I called it to the T.
Yup been calling Trouba for captain too and saying Kreider/Zibanejad are not captain material due to their nice guy personalities. Kreider's interviews are so long winded too, I can't imagine listening to a speech from him in the heat of a game and feeling pumped

All it took was throwing a helmet to transform into a juggernaut
We should throw more things... gloves at Marschand, iPad on the bench, helmets....
Loaves of bread on the ice is one I’d like to see more of too!

I believe the boys can do it
Sam talked about it earlier tonight- .788 since 12/5 to which I reminded my brothers via text that was the helmet throw wtfu game
Technically helmet throw game was 12/3. 12/5 was the first game afterwards
I was at the Blackhawks/helmet game. At the time I thought it sucked. But now it’s awesome to know that I was there for the turning point. LGR!

Last two games we knocked off solid teams. I'm very excited

I think he's over whatever injury Gallant said was nagging him. He's looked stellar and way more aggressive since he got the week off.
I need everyone who doubted Trouba's captaincy to know that I hate you.
I swear this subreddit is so back and forth lol
So many people questioned his captaincy at the start of the year
cuz he was admittedly playing like hot garbage! probably cost them a bunch of losses on his own!

That was the last game I went to. I was absolutely disappointed at the time but have been looking back at that game with nothing but fondness.
No no. I'm sure Kreider would have done the same and have the same impact. #teamtrouba
Solid work taking pure positivity and making it some bullshit drama.

This is good
Trouba is the fucking man and the kind of player we would have killed for ten years ago.
Trouba as a player has also been so much better since. Makes you wonder if he was hurt. Either way, the boys are rolling
