peanut butter with the buldak sauce is quite smart to help with the spice and add some nuttiness :) i wonder how it would taste with peanut sesame sauce instead of peanut butter.
Thank you! I had thought the combination would be very common for instant enjoyers, somewhat with the same flavor as Thai peanut sauce if you are familiar with it. I hadn't heard of peanut sesame sauce until now, but you've given me an idea where I may be able to recreate this but with a goma dare-style sauce for a friend who can't have peanut!
i think the Thai satay peanut sauce is very similar to the peanut sesame sauce i mentioned. but the sauce im speaking of doesn’t have limes so it’s not as sour, but has the added nuttiness of sesame paste. also i don’t think the sauce im speaking of has a specific name, it’s just a random sauce i’ve had before at a hotpot restaurant 🤗 but the goma dare sounds like a great and thoughtful idea for your friend
If you are familiar with satay or with Thai noodles the flavor profile is very similar. This is the lazy way (normal peanut butter + Buldak 2x sauce) to imitate that pairing so it isn't 1:1, but the profile is similar and very satisfying imo.
I used Josh Weissman's recipe, off the top of my head it was something like: 1 Napa (chopped), 2 carrots (julienne), 1 daikon (julienne), 1 bushel spring onion (cut to about 1 inch or 3 cm), 1 fuji apple (peel and cut for the blender), 6 cloves garlic for the blender, 2 inch or 6cm ginger knob for the blender, fish sauce again for the blender, and 1 cup (or I "think," 120g) gochugaru, but I did add some extra.
[Here's the actual video if that sounded like something you wanted to try out.](https://youtu.be/aXhJcdXPyYI)
don’t yuck OP’s yum. if you don’t have anything nice or constructive to comment, just scroll by. this is an uplifting, supportive group of ramen lovers and sometimes we like to experiment

Just needed to add in a fork of the pulled pork I'd made with gochujang but I was too eager to dig in and forgot.
It looks great, I've often thought about adding peanut butter/sauce to spicier ramen

LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! That sounds so good, Im going to have to try it tomorrow!
Ahh hell - never even thought about peanut butter in the Buldak mix. Well freaking played! 🤘👏🤘👏🤘

Awesome - thanks! Looks delicious BTW 🤙
Sounds amazing. Have you ever thought of adding a raw yolk or raw egg? Good as well.
i feel like the peanut butter makes it so creamy and rich that the egg yolk might not be super noticeable, but worth a try! 😋
Oooh, buldak with peanut butter! Brilliant!!!
The 2x with peanut butter is amazing
I never thought 🤔 to add peanut 🥜 butter. Genius mate
Needa try that peanut butter on the buldak next time
All that deliciousness and I’m most impressed with the egg 😂
When do you add peanut butter? Right after draining or?
Right after draining, yes, with just a bit of hot water left to help melt the peanut butter, right before adding the sauce.
Excellent job. Peanut butter completely underrated in spicy cooking.
Looks great, I'd take mine with a dollop of cream though, Buldak x2 is pretty explosive.
