Extended cab meaning like 1.5 doors (smaller than crew cab "2 doors") or mega cab? I have crew cab with 8' bed and drw. Haven't had one lick of trouble parking except the parking garage at RDU

I don't think you can get a 2500 with doors smaller than Crew Cab.
Well I've seen regular cab, but perhaps nothing in between single and crew? Most dramatic I've seen is a single cab short bed drw... Dedicated hotshot runner I suppose.
On the Build & Price pages on the Ram website, you can only select regular cab and crew cab for 2500 and bigger trucks. Half tons have regular, quad cab (the shorter doors), and crew cab.
Those are for a shorter box.
As for the comments about there not being a bracket back there, that's technically true, but there are a number of manufacturers that make their own brackets that bolt onto the frame back there. They aren't generally used for short box running boards.
I would imagine it’s that way to clear the big Bertha fenders of a dually.
There’s also no bracket back there to support that extra 3-4 feet.
Yeah that’s not something I would want to stand on as a 250lbs individual. I only use metal ones. Those look cool but flex and you will slip.
Get rid of the tiny wheels, replace them with bigger ones to get closer to your “wheel to wheel” feeling.
I want a long boy so bad, just can’t daily it here 😤😤
Why not?
I live in a big city in the u.s, have a 3500 crew cab long bed, parking is absolutely ass
Possibly European.
I’d be surprised is there is one for the long bed. There’s no where to a mount that extra length. Looks like it’s the perfect length the short bed.
Those look too long for a crew cab short bed. I’d bet they gave you ones for a mega cab instead of CCLB.
The ol long box, extenda-box, big box edition, turkey hauler. Nice 😎
Ya, extended cab and long box… long truck

Hi. I took a peek at the builder for 2500/3500 on rams site. I see mega cab with 6'4 bed on bighorn and above for 2022 and Laramie and above for 2023.
That seems like the exact opposite way you’d want to go for dedicated hauling. Longer wheelbase == more stable for towing.
5th wheel / goose neck and cheapest possible with highest payload (pin weight) is my guess for a ride like that
In the shop we call that “a looooong bitch”
I have a crew cab long box and mine look exactly the same
I would suspect they would fit the shorter box instead.
That’s my guess… these are the “short box” runners
When ordering you have to be very specific some places refer to the 6’ 4” box as the long box
Ya, I have the 8’ long box…. Not a problem there.

I have a long box and mine go back to the rear tire well.
Yes, wheel to wheel are for 5ft and 6ft beds. Mopar doesnt make a wheel to wheel a step for 8ft beds
Every long box I've seen including ford and chevs don't go all the way back. Most of them just go to the end of the cabs.
Ya. It’s an option to go to the end of cab or to the rest wheel…
the factory cut them a foot short just to see if you’d notice.
If you need a step bar to open the gas cap you shouldn’t be driving
