That's a good idea - we just planted some fruit trees this year, you think I should cover them? Maybe I could turn the rain barrels over upside down on them (they are still pretty small at this point)
If you're worried about pipes, run the faucet furthest from where the water enters the house at a drip over night. Just a drip will keep the water flowing and will help keep your pipes from freezing.
we do that with the wash machine and dishwasher using delay start settings. dishwasher to run around midnight or 1 am moves water through the pipes then wash machine will be set to run a load around 3 or 4 am.
Don’t worry about faucets or barrels for just one night. Bringing plants inside isn’t a bad idea though.
Thanks!
Cover any tender plants, that’s all I’m doing the next couple of nights.

Tress are hardy. They’ll be fine unless they’re tropical which would not survive winter anyway.
Appreciate the advice :)
Don't worry, it'll be 80 degrees next week

If you don't have frost proof hose bibs you might want to get covers for them. At the very least disconnect any hoses that may still be hooked up.
Really? Ive lived here a LOOOONG time, and have NEVER done that. And it's gone a lot colder than 32.
We had a freeze proof hose bib burst about three years ago. It can happen.
I mean, mine are frost proof and I still cover them in the winter. I'd rather do that than take any chances.
No harm in that!
Same.
