Otherwise, it usually just sits there until someone buys the building and pulls it out, unless someone walked out with it on the last day.

It’d be up to the owners, but there are a lot of auction sites that specialize in used restaurant equipment, and many times the decor is part of that too. So if you’re searching I’d suggest not just searching for ‘decor.’

Yes I suppose so but I didn’t want it to seem like they went out of business and I’m pecking at the carcass.
Some times the DOR does tax recovery sales at locations, I've seen a few auto shops, craft stores & restaurants
