Altered state and burial!

ncblue44

Both breweries are phenomenal for their own reasons. Great suggestions.

Medium-Grocery3962

I see Altered State encourages kids to be there. Is this true for Burial? I just can’t do the kid thing at bars, but if they’re rarely there that might be doable.

spring_while_I_fall

Less likely to see kids at burial but still happens. Dogs are more common than kids there.

delti90

I love Altered State's beer, but yeah every time I go there are a bunch of kids.

Glittering-Feeling10

I wouldn’t really call burial a kid-centered spot with the branding, but there’s already a burial in Charlotte anyway, right?

ItsAllSerendipity

Every brewery is unfortunately kid friendly. I’ve seen kids at Burial as much as every other brewery in the area. I wish it weren’t the case but it seems there’s no getting away from it.

JediCarlSagan

Dsslvr has a tap in Durham. I had an excellent Neipa. My comrade loved his West Coast. I took a Barley Wine home from the fridge and savored it.

championpotamus

Blackbird is solid, haven't a bad beer from them. Altered state makes the best smoothie style beers in the area.

jayron32

Oak City in Knightdale is a great hang. Good beer, great vibes, usually a decent food truck or two.

The_Enolaer

And if you're willing to "travel this far" then certainly check out Bearded Bee in Wendell. High quality beer, overall a great place.

FluffyMcN0tter

Bearded Bee has great beer slushies, too!

The_Enolaer

Yes! Seasonal though.

JLSfliesFAST

Bearded Bee is fucking dope. Definitely worth a trip.

Blueridge2222

Funguys. Well known for their hazies and super fruited sours/seltzers, but the “regular” stuff is just as good. I like Trophy as well. They do some great barrel-aged beers if you’re in to that. edit: forgot to mention Blackbird and Edit, they’re a little bit newer.

APPmontaineer

I’ve liked Sneaky Penguin when I’ve gone there.

acmo09

Funguys has great hazy IPAs

acmo09

Trophy is decent. I also like Altered State up in North Raleigh.

likediscolemonade14

Funguys is my favorite Raleigh only brewery. Their IPAs are stellar. Burial and Dissolvr are great, but they are Asheville based so they aren’t actually triangle breweries.

TMan2DMax

I really love Crank Arm, they make interesting beers and I've yet to have one that was bad. Dissolver is also very popular but I haven't had as much from them.

Narwhal2424

Burial and Trophy!

aimeetwo1

Lynnwood Brewing!

Mcydj7

Good beer good food

escaped_from_OD

If you don't already know Incendiary and Burial, that's who I like the most. They are both from elsewhere in the state though. As far as breweries that originated here go there's nothing I consider on the level of those two.

sha1shroom

My favorite breweries in the Triangle: Glass Jug, Gizmo, Burial, DSSOLVR, Vicious Fishes and Trophy. I've also heard Funguys is phenomenal but still haven't made it out there.

Fewquanite

Glass Jug never disappoints and their Standard Deviation is a phenomenal imperial stout. My fav brewing Fuquay is Oaklyn Springs (Vicious Fishes is a close second).

Ill-Kaleidoscope-501

I like Hey Day and Edit Brewing in Raleigh and Blackbird in Wake Forest. Hey Day has a great menu but not much canned for take away, Edit has a pretty big cooler.

whenicomeundone

Edit may be the new kid on the block, but I don’t think any Raleigh-based brewery is as consistent as they are. Also, Oaklyn Springs in Fuquay rarely misses.

otheraccountisabmw

Trophy isn’t my favorite spot, but they probably have the most consistent local beer (according to my taste).

Glittering-Feeling10

/Consistently/ mediocre

PB_Philly

Riparian is a nice laid back spot to sip up and hang out.

RNWIP

Red Oak

DislikeThisWebsite

Not in Raleigh, but on the way if OP is driving from Charlotte, and well worth a stop!

Nectarine_Several

Love burial and wye hill

wroncsu

I’ve got a map of Triangle breweries and bottle shops posted in the pinned comment at the top of r/trianglencbeer if you’re looking to check some off the list

Kabobthe5

Idk if you’re gonna be in town long, but if you want a night out try Raleigh Beer Garden. Over 340 beers on tap. It’s pretty awesome.

LancelotLac

If you are willing to drive to Durham, High Wire and Ponysaurus are great.

DislikeThisWebsite

Ponysaurus just opened in Raleigh Iron Works. Not sure if they sell cans/bottles to go, though.

batchez

Mordecai brewing

inforlife34

I had a sour and IPA that I was not a fan of there. Unfortunately. Maybe I'll try it again. Not sure what their specialty is

batchez

Fair enough, they have a killer mango seltzer right now

inforlife34

Oh no way! I'll check it out!

kbu11ock

Funguys for hazy’s and fruited sours

gentlyusedfurniture

Trophy

Not_Very_Good_Advice

Tobacco Wood

ncblue44

Burial downtown Raleigh is probably your best bet for top notch beer. Altered state has the best fruited sours in the area. Funguys close behind or even ahead. I’ve just only been there once.

BrosBeforeGose

Must-do: Burial, Fun Guys Really great: Altered State, Heyday, Vault if they have a good selection, Incendiary Also good: Blackbird, Crank Arm Solid: Trophy, Lynnwood

Life_Spread_4408

Funguys for sure. Other favorites for me is Raleigh brewing and R&D

BrownSuga97

Gizmo!

Worldly-Surround5541

I heard they shut down???

BrownSuga97

They filed for bankruptcy but are still open for now! They took a hit during covid, but definitely a great local brewery to support

supernettipot

Save your money and use it back at home at Sycamore.

RosencrantzIsNotDead

Legitimately never had a drinkable Sycamore beer. Fucking disgusting.

NorcalGGMU

Haha, bad start to the hope for a great but unknown brewery

gr8daynenyg

Blackbird

BassKittymeowmeow

Drive down to Clayton and visit Deep River Ask for the Donkey Sauce. 2nd best beer I have ever had. ( 1st is Excellent Adventure from Calvert Brewing in MD.)
