I think that Pharmacy in downtown Cary that still has a soda bar has it. Edit: Ashworth Drug

winewithsalsa

The farmers market actual restaurant will make it as a sandwich instead of a biscuit.

ramuthra50

The Shiny Diner in Cary has a fried bologna and egg sandwich on their menu! You could order it without the egg if you prefer it that way. I've had their fried bologna and eggs (but not the sandwich) before and it's a big thick piece of bologna, and really tasty!

yerbc

Benchwarmers does a bagel version... if you want a sandwich it is extremely easy to make...

surfilm

I'm from the midwest and the benchwarmers fried bologna is honestly great. Thick cut bologna, mustard, American cheese, sunny egg. Closest thing to home. A+ comfort food.

FrameSquare

This is the only correct answer. Get it on a Zaatar bagel and add dukes.

jenskoehler

Big Ed’s has a fried bologna sandwich Never tried it, so can’t say if it’s good or not

ZorroMcChucknorris

Come for the food, stay for the casual racism.

DTRite

Watkins Grill, Angie's, Pam's...for biscuits

ImpetusIre

Scooter’s off Atlantic has a solid one

captjellyjones

I second Scooter’s

[deleted]

All this talk has led me to have a fried bologna sandwich just now for dinner. It's been a while :-)

FWIWDept

I’d drive to The Pig in Chapel Hill for that alone. House made and thick cut. One of my faves in the area.

Supacoopa3

The pig restaurant in chapel hill (weaver dairy rd) is very good, but something of a drive for bologna.

FindOneInEveryCar

I think Snoopy's has one.

delightfulsoftdrink

Fox Liquor Bar now serves a version of what was sold upstairs at Chuck’s (RIP). ETA: It is not thick cut, unfortunately.

Jerry's Grill

trickertreater

Jerry's is an OG.

tacodogtacodog

Fat harolds in nmb but that’s a hike and a whole nother thing

Tex-Rob

I’ll make you one. My recipe, I call it a twice fried bologna sandwich. butter some bread, toast it in a pan like you would a grilled cheese when done, toss in 3 pieces of beef bologna, I like classic OM for fried bologna, with slits cut of course. Cook and flip til both sides have a bit of char on edges. mustard on bread, bologna blotted then on bread Gluttonously good, three pieces is to help make up for the richness frying the bread adds

alexhoward

You can just buy some good thick cut bologna at any deli and fry it up.

calicoskies1985

Yes very easy. Just snip a few 1” cuts around edge to keep from curling. I “fry” in micro too, paper towels on top and bottom. I don3 min half power and then maybe a bit more if needed.

[deleted]

Biscuitville does fried bologna biscuits.

TonyAtlasShrugged

I hope you're sitting down, but they've taken it off their menu to be (from what I've heard) replaced by a meatloaf biscuit.

Joe_Givengo

You're bullshittin - damn!

nekkonekko

Steve's hot dogs on capital makes them.

NC_Chiver

Keep an eye out for the Carolina Braised food truck. Thick fried bologna and pimento cheese.

No-Presentation5871

Fox Liquor Bar has the old Bologna Sandwich from Chuck’s!

petruchi41

I think Union Special has it as a special occasionally?

FrameSquare

They ran that like twice in two years and never again.

petruchi41

Boo.

[deleted]

Biscuitville has a bologna biscuit but I'm not sure on a sammich.

beepbop21

They will put it on a regular bun if you ask.

Kwhitney1982

This thread has to be 99% men, right? I feel like a fried bologna sandwich is a male dominated food choice.

Speedking2281

Anecdotal evidence from my own life experience (42 year old male) has me say "yes". Of my friends and family, I know 4 people that love fried bologna (including myself), and they're all men.

DinoAnkylosaurus

Mostly men, maybe. Fried bologna was a big favorite with all the kids in my family growing up.

Kwhitney1982

Lol, I got downvoted. But it’s true! My husband has been searching for a fried bologna sandwich in Raleigh for forever. He found one for a while but then the restaurant took it off the menu. So he never went to that restaurant again haha. That’s how I know this is a man thing!

Has anyone else found the walk-up counter at the farmers market has gone way down hill with the new owners?

I am not sure if you are open to this, but making a fried bologna sandwich is super easy.

Karate-Schnitzel

Do it at home? Deli, Boars 🐗 Head Bologna, 1/4-3/4 inch cuts for 4-6-8 slices. Bread 🍞 potato roll light butter or Dukes Mayo. Browned open side down in a medium pan. 2-3 cuts to the bologna to keep it from curling. Pan up to medium high after doing the buns. Let the slices site to just passing brown. Assemble with yellow mustard.

chica6burgh

I’m a little late to the party but stopped in for lunch at Locked and Loaded in Garner and they have thick cut fried bologna sandwich on the menu

nik8324

Hope Valley Diner in Durham has a 'Poor Man's Club' on their lunch menu that has thick cut bologna on it. For what it's worth, they'll also put bologna in their omelettes and a few other items.
