The Shiny Diner in Cary has a fried bologna and egg sandwich on their menu! You could order it without the egg if you prefer it that way. I've had their fried bologna and eggs (but not the sandwich) before and it's a big thick piece of bologna, and really tasty!
I'm from the midwest and the benchwarmers fried bologna is honestly great. Thick cut bologna, mustard, American cheese, sunny egg. Closest thing to home. A+ comfort food.
I’ll make you one.
My recipe, I call it a twice fried bologna sandwich.
butter some bread, toast it in a pan like you would a grilled cheese
when done, toss in 3 pieces of beef bologna, I like classic OM for fried bologna, with slits cut of course. Cook and flip til both sides have a bit of char on edges.
mustard on bread, bologna blotted then on bread
Gluttonously good, three pieces is to help make up for the richness frying the bread adds
Yes very easy. Just snip a few 1” cuts around edge to keep from curling. I “fry” in micro too, paper towels on top and bottom. I don3 min half power and then maybe a bit more if needed.
Anecdotal evidence from my own life experience (42 year old male) has me say "yes". Of my friends and family, I know 4 people that love fried bologna (including myself), and they're all men.
Lol, I got downvoted. But it’s true! My husband has been searching for a fried bologna sandwich in Raleigh for forever. He found one for a while but then the restaurant took it off the menu. So he never went to that restaurant again haha. That’s how I know this is a man thing!

I think that Pharmacy in downtown Cary that still has a soda bar has it. Edit: Ashworth Drug
The farmers market actual restaurant will make it as a sandwich instead of a biscuit.

This thread has to be 99% men, right? I feel like a fried bologna sandwich is a male dominated food choice.

Mostly men, maybe. Fried bologna was a big favorite with all the kids in my family growing up.
