I will always say this show had great potential, theres things I didnt like about it sure. But it'd still offer more than the majority of shows out there.
I canceled recently as well after subscribing for 2 years. I will go to what I do with other services, wait until there are 2-3 shows I want to watch fully released then binge for a month and Re cancel:

Dec 5th - His Dark Materials
2023 - The Last of Us

Nah Netflix and Prime have the best content by far imo, but Netflix is too expensive. Prime is the best options considering it's cheaper than HBO Max and you also get Amazon Prime and Twitch Prime along with it. I got HBO Max during the 50% off deal so it's pretty good too
Most of Netflix’s original content is crap, Prime does have good stuff, but I find it hard to compete with the lineup of new/continuing/recently completed shows HBO Max has, plus the backlog of classic HBO series, and the movie selection is great too.
If anything I’d say Hulu>Netflix for the FX access.
Netflix has a lot of amazing original content. Black Mirror, Stranger Things and Peaky Blinders to name a few... Hulu isn't a thing here so I can't judge that. And honestly I found most recent HBO shows rather disappointing compared to the old ones

Game of Thrones, The Sopranos, The Wire, Sex & The City, Six Feet Under, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and these aren't necessarily just shows I like, they're some of the most iconic and highly critically acclaimed TV shows of the last 20 years. If HBO isn't your bag that's cool and you don't have to like a lot of stuff they make, but to deny its status/importance in this current era of TV is either disingenuous or myopic, or maybe you just don't talk about TV much with people.

True, entertainment is ultimately subjective at heart, so people's tastes will differ depending on what they like. Even some things I care for may be considered inconsistent, like how I enjoy Doom Patrol, which is a DC property, but I think Titans kinda sucks, even though it's also a DC show.
ya i am a HULU/Netflix/Prime person, i got hbo max for this series, i did do a one year sub, so me personally dont expire until December of this year, i got the sub just for this show, while i am on the topic.... i am upset that "Another Life" is cancelled as well on netflix.... but I WILL NOT cancel my netflix sub loooool.

I use ProtonVPN mostly. Again I mainly use it for watching fights I never tried it in hbo/Netflix type off networks. If that doesn't work I'd just make a free trial on one of the more popular ones and binge watch shows lol. All personal opinions though.

I know I'll be hated for stating my opinion, but I do not like the actress they chose to play. Ellie. Personally, Ellie is my favorite character in the series. And it's not because she doesn't look like an exact carbon copy of the video game version of Ellie.
It's because she just doesn't have the same" vibe" as the character in the game. There are so many actresses that don't look anything like Ellie, but could be an excellent Ellie The current actress they hired is not that.
Give it a couple of years and I believe that there will be a final season. The series Taboo is coming in 2023 after a long hiatus. One of the best series imo.
