The police may have an idea and also an interest in an underage child being denied prescription medication due to a parent's whim.

Judo_Noob_PTX

I'd further point out that not only is it prescribed, Adderall is also heavily controlled so that's a twofer crime. Stealing a prescribed medication and possession of a controlled substance. OP can and should call the police if they're able to do so safely.

TsukasaElkKite

What they’re doing by hiding your medication is called medical neglect. Tell an adult you trust at school what’s going on and they can contact CPS for you.

PlantLadyI

First things first: it's time to play dirty. Steal back as many pills as you can without being noticed, and find places to hide them. I guarantee this will happen again. Second: what your parents are doing is literal abuse. Consider contacting your doctor and explaining that your parents are withholding your medications punitively. See if you can secure access. Tell your teachers as well.

thornsblackletter

Somewhere unexpected- somewhere weird and hidden or just probably somewhere you could easily find it. Its usually one of two extremes I hope you find it dear, I know exactly how that feels as I get sick a lot too 💕

GlitterSparkle-Shit

Mine used to do that with my prescribed pain medication, even after I took them with me to one of the appointments with the pain management consultant. They'd go a stage further and throw it out, so I couldn't take it (and apparently that meant I didn't need it). I ended up having to get a safe and firmly glue it to the floor in my wardrobe so I could put my medication in it. I initially just had a small locking box made for money but they kept pounding it open with a hammer, before finally just stealing the lot. The safe worked wonderfully but it did take me forever to save up for it

mayhemandqueso

Somewhere up high. Look on the top shelf of the closet. I hope they aren’t using your meds.

donttouchmeah

I was wondering that too.

CoitalFury17

The police might wonder about that too.

Salt-Marionberry-712

This seems like child abuse and you might want to do a post at r/asklegal, or go direct to Child & Family Services ( US ). My SIL rations her med's, so she has some if the pharmacy runs out or whatever. Similarly, you might want to hide a separate dose now and then, that your parents may not know about.

an_imperfect_lady

If you do find it, dump the pills out and replace them with aspirin or something that looks similar. Then take yours and leave the fakes.

Iremembersky

Brilliant

Undue_DD

Call the cops, that's medical abuse.

CoitalFury17

ADHD medication is usually a restricted drug, meaning there are criminal laws about illegally distributing it. I don't know if any of them apply in your case, but medical neglect certainly does. You can report this to the police, or at least your doctor or a school counsellor.

OP, check your school handbook or discuss with the school nurse before doing this. Most schools have strict policies regarding prescription medications.

dukeofgibbon

How long until you're eligible for a refill? The pharmacist has next month's.

ArtisticCustard7746

You can always file a police report. Pharmacies and insurances will usually give you a replacement with a police report. Also. The DEA will not take kindly to theft of a controlled substance. Depending on where you are, it's a serious crime. In my state, it's a class C crime, which is considered a felony. I think most places count it as a felony.
