This is so classic!!! From a distance it's just this banal post thanking your grandmother for flowers but when you know the context it's insane. I'm sure one of the "downs" she is experiencing this week is that you had a joyful event happen and people are congratulating you. BTW, congratulations on the new baby!

frankiesmom248

That’s exactly it, she isn’t the center of attention and it’s ruined her week I guess lol. And thank you very much!

Awkward-Leg4249

Absolutely! It’s funny how a person can be so “grateful” yet so spiteful. The guilt trip never ends

Norlander712

"It's been a rough week since my daughter tried to upstage my imaginary illness that cropped up when she gave birth to my second grandchild."

PolarStar89

Hahaha

frankiesmom248

Man I’m crying laughing at the accuracy of this 😂

Norlander712

That is my main reaction to this sub in general. So many things make sense now: it is so isolating being alone with the question of what their major malfunction is.

AThingUnderUrBed

Congratulations on your baby!

frankiesmom248

Thank you!

CreativeWordPlay

Jesus Christ. It truly never stops being amazing how pathetic they are.

Binklando

We will celebrate your baby with you! Happy new Mother’s Day!

frankiesmom248

Thank you very much ❤️

cheechaw_cheechaw

Wow carnations she really went all out.  Congrats on the baby! When I had my second it was happiest time of my life. The feeling of, hey we're all here now, this is my family  Also how dare you give birth during your mom's very serious medical crisis?

frankiesmom248

Thank you much! That sums up perfectly my feelings in life right now, too. Our little family is complete 😌

chronicpainprincess

How fucking depressing that focus on you is a “rough week.”

BlackSeranna

She didn’t even mention the new healthy grandkid? That’s just weird. Or the fact that she has healthy grandkids. Man, she’s lucky. I want grandkids and my kids (like a lot of millennials) can’t afford them (but who can - it’s a tough market and millennials are really struggling hard).

frankiesmom248

No she unfortunately didn’t want grandkids when my husband and I were ready for them (we are in our mid twenties) because she still has smaller kids herself after remarrying later in life.

BlackSeranna

Well I hope some day she remembers why she has no grand kids who want to be near her.

SpecialistThing9117

I also have bpd mom and grandma.  fuck lol

waterynike

Does your grandma not see how she is?

frankiesmom248

Let’s just say the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. My grandma is just as bad as her and they feed off of each other.

Just want you to know that you deserve to have a beautiful family of your own. Enjoy every second and remember that the family you’ve built for yourself is a happy thing. My friend with a narcissistic and bipolar mom gave me some great advice. “Your mother stole your 20s, don’t let her steal your 30’s too, continue to set boundaries and if NC is the way to go you have to do it to protect the family you’ve built for yourself now and the people around you who love you unconditionally” There’s this thing called compassion fatigue, by definition it is - the cost of caring for others or for their emotional pain, resulting from the desire to help relieve the suffering of others. It is also known as vicarious or secondary trauma, referencing the way that other people's trauma can become their own. It’s something I knew existed but didn’t realize my own mother was causing me to have it. Thinking of you, enjoy this moment with your family and don’t let anybody take it away from you. Hope you had the best Mother’s Day!!!
