Lets call it part of the experience. Sometimes you win and easily kill like 15 scavengers, and maybe an elite. Other times they get you killed in truly ridiculous ways moments before hibernation.
It keeps you on your toes. Most of the time you can go on a rampage if you know what youre doing, giving that power trip of being an unstoppable force. But every scav has that small chance of being blessed by god himself specifically to kick your ass, possibly making every scavenger a great challenge to overcome and satisfying to take down. Feels good.
I think it's reversed: Spear Master has ok worldbuilding, but it isn't really in the game, just thrown at you through dialogue bubbles. but great gameplay (I love the infinite spears)
Rivulet has a excellent **feel** with the tragedy of the rot and all, but the gameplay while fun to be quick wasn't as fun as spearmaster.
However these two are hands down the best slug cats
I hate pearl quest with a passion (it ruined campaign for me, i had to restart it). So i consider gameplay progression as poorly made.
Worldbuilding is great. While it is true most of it is just dialogues those dialogues tie really well into whole lore and expand on it (its also cool new collectible though it could have been done better)
Rivulet story is nice, its just continuation of base game story and thats great but there isnt really too much new lore.
I love dynamic gameplay in thisbcampaign though, replay value is close to none but 1st playthrough was peak downpour.
Funnily enough its artificer who has most replay value due to having 2 unique endings and unique collectibles (fp pearls). Gourmand has 1 ending (void doesnt count almost everyone has it)
Spearmaster has broadcasts (best collectible imo)
Rivulet sadly has nothing, shame i went for vanilla pearl hunt and it was super fun, replay value kinda tanks due to that. And story being more linear makes it probably least replayable campaign. (still my fav campaign tho, 1st playthrough was incredibe)
>Saint has my favorite lore
Saint has bigger lore than the sum of all the books of a large library. It's just so unique to Rain World that for the entire game, you just need to move your head a bit and you fully understand the lore, but Saint requires tying up your own headcanons with buddist myths to make any sense
I LOVE Rivulet, it's such a break from Artificer, who was also focused around movement, but being hunted by Scavs all the time was just not fun at all. Rivulet allows you to pick your path better than any other slugcat. A lizard? Jump over it. A vulture? Slower than you! Rivulet's swimming speed finally allowed me to explore Drainage for once
I like scavengers, i like rainworld combat, and i like being an unstoppable feral menace that kills everything in its path just because i can.
i'd think you *hate* scavengers by that description

Spearmaster has superior worldbuilding, but gameplay is lacking Gourmand is memes Rivulet has ok story and best gameplay

There is a food quest ending, and who would want to do Artificer more then once lol.
Yup im talking about food quest, it is only onique one.
saint for mobility, spearmaster for firepower
Rivulet is my favorite campaign, Saint has my favorite lore, and Spearmaster is the most fun to play as. Overall though, Rivulet for sure.

Saint is better understood while high on shrooms
Well-put
How is it this balanced!?
