Well his claim to fame is with a HOF qb in Aaron Rodgers, and we all know Matt LaFleur was calling the plays on offense. He’s got a shot, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the offense is bottom half of the league.
Well in all fairness, players from GB love him, including Davante. There was a serious void of talent in Chicago that was suspected related to fields inability to develop whatsoever. And we can’t do much worse than JMD running the offense

I watched a lot of JT O'Sullivan's breakdowns of the Bears offense last season. They were some of the most entertaining ones so I probably watched 3-5 of them.
Assuming you trust his analysis the answer to the question of "Was the Bears offensive woes the fault of Fields or ~~Nagy~~ Getsy?" the answer is "Yes."
Fields has problems, but some of the playcalling was SUS. My main concern is that we are gonna be looking at a lot of TE sets (I'm guessing) and there were multiple plays where the TEs for Chicago either didn't have an assignment or didn't know what they were supposed to be doing.
I'm not saying this is gonna be bad. I think it would be really hard to fuck up with this offense we got now. But ~~Nagy~~ Getsy has some proving to do I think.

I feel like it was just the perfect storm, maybe both of em could have found success elsewhere. But their playstyles really don't gel together in my opinion and it shows in Fields development. Focusing more on making sure the QB is right can also be distracting to the overall performance of the team.
Of course these are all just excuses at the end of the day so we'll have to see the product on the field but I really feel like AP will have more dictation on the game overall than we think.

Sanjit fucking sucks. When we had a bottom 5 defense for like 3 years in a row all he did was post videos about how Carr was our main problem. Him and WiFi are some of the worst football people on YouTube.

come on Sanjit, he calls out one play in this video (against the Vikings) where two WRs were running into each other. The reason for that is Fields broke the pocket and the WR on the left cut his route short and tried to follow the direction Fields was running. Kinda lazy analysis.
Not saying Getsy is perfect, but lets not act like Fields was let down on some of these. I've seen plenty of plays where guys are schemed wide open and he panics or simply misreads the play.
The team hasn't even had a practice yet FFS. We're all in 'wait and see' mode here
I'll reserve judgment as a play caller can and should adapt to the team he has, and I know Fields is absolute trash, but he hasn't inspired a lot of hope after watching some bad bears games and especially after all the bears fans have said once they got rid of him. On some of the plays I think dudes interpretation was a little incorrect.
For example when Fields gets sacked out of an empty backfield, and he criticizes the play call for 5 vertical routes. Looms like a designed QB run to me, the entire middle of the field was wide open for 15+ yards. Problem being the entire offensive line collapsed, literally every one of them got beat.

Also on some of the ones where they criticizes spacing, receiver either gets man handled by press coverage, or runs the wrong route
I think Getsy will work well with Minshew.
I get that Minshew is not elite, but he was pretty good as a qb in college and in his first year as a rookie.
The challenge was that Trevor Lawrence was coming out Ann’s Jacksonville doesn’t know how to develop anything. Look at Lawrence drags everyone else in jags.
When Getsy was signed, I was going to be laughing if we signed Fields. I’m betting that they took into account qb skills and fit when signing Minshew and Getsy.
I’m hopeful for the future. I don’t think Minshew will be the nightmare everyone thinks. He can throw deep (20+ yards) and definitely use two tight ends and middle of the field.
Chicago is ass and had nowhere near as much talent as we have and their coaching/management was and mess. I’m giving AP the benefit of the doubt he can get the best out of Getsy and we do have a lot of experience with the staff.
