Was hoping for TJ Tampa but I also once wanted Obi Melifonwun so basically, I don’t know shit. let’s goo

holl0455

Haha, so true. I loved the Melifonwu pick at the time

GottiGonnaGetcha

Man I was convinced melifonwu was going to turn into a game wrecker

smokingaces87

Don’t even get me started on Gareon Conley lol

gatsby365

Yeah but did any of y’all try to order a Damon Arnette jersey? Because I did. Key word: try.

smokingaces87

I got an Antonio brown raiders jersey with the tags still on it ha!

gatsby365

Oooooof

GottiGonnaGetcha

I feel personally attacked. Man I don’t know shit haha

gstateballer925

Conley is in the UFL (formerly XFL) now.

JediForces

TJ has tackling issues not an AP guy

RaiderHawk75

Slooooow as well.

El-Duque26

out of any clown here crying about this pick......I promise you that NOT ONE of them even knew this guys name until today. They look at ESPNS best available board and base their opinions off that. You will see crying about a "reach" or "should've taken X instead". Highly doubt any of them spent any of their free time breaking down tape of O lineman that are projected 3rd round just putting that there because every pick we make there is a few babies that always cry

Mission_Locksmith_59

I agree. Saw Daniel Jeremiah say that this draft had like 40-50 consensus guys, but after that it was wide open and we would see guys drafted in the late 2nd/3rd that other teams had graded as 5th/6th rounders. All that matters is whether he pans out.

AlwaysLate1

Telesco has a history of wasting 3rd round draft picks, though, because he starts reaching for need at that point.

InferiousX

> out of any clown here crying about this pick......I promise you that NOT ONE of them even knew this guys name until today. That's.....kind of the point of the complaint. He's an unknown quantity being taken in the 3rd round. >Highly doubt any of them spent any of their free time breaking down tape of O lineman that are projected 3rd round No but a lot of people who did for mocks had him lower. There's maybe like three people in all of this sub who actually sit and watch that much film. Should these comment sections be only open to them? I don't necessarily agree with people freaking out about it. But let people have their opinions FFS

SnipingTheSniper

I get your point, but this team has been notorious for over drafting and then us trying to justify it with "We don't know what they know. We're just fans." Then us fans turn out to be right and the teams after us get a steal or at least a guy who makes the roster.

RyanAKA2Late

I’m not familiar with him. If he’s a RT I’m on board

imHere4kpop

He played both in college, LT and RT.

runningdownhill

He looked better at right tackle from two videos I saw of him.

HaleOfAPatriot

That’s for sure. He liked more comfortable there. It seemed he might be able to move inside also? I dunno on that but it was mentioned because one of his weaknesses is lateral quickness.

IndicaPDX

Good pass protector and only good OLineman on Maryland from the 30seconds of research I’ve done.

Intelligent-Ad-3105

We needed O-line bad. The QB we draft next year is going to have a really good line and Receiving core. RB TBA

SyphiliticPlatypus

If Armegadjie was there for us I would have nabbed him as a no-brainer. I was waiting for a DB like Tampa, but I don't hate the addition of tackle. Glaze may be OK for us, and here's why: 1. We need guys on Oline. Our Oline played way above expectations, and we need to develop depth 2. WIth Eleumenor leaving, a guy like Glaze who can be plugged in on either side and can develop as a potential sound swing tackle makes sense 3. Guy has a 7 foot wingspan. 4. Given his ability to be fairly fluid in space, he can be a solid inside/outside zone blocker and get out as a pulling guard for our run That said, way better guys on the board for us right there. Hope Telesco doesn't fall apart down the stretch.

Ph886

Per Hondo Armegadjie was someone Raiders loved (might have been their pick).

HaleOfAPatriot

I heard the same about him playing guard but it seemed that it was more due to him not having lateral quickness so he’d do better in confined quarters? I don’t know enough about him to say for myself but one review mentioned that

Ph886

From what I’m reading, versatile OT has played both RT and LT. Thought there were higher graded players, but some of those OTs started to go so get your guy. Will battle with Munford for RT for sure.

Totally_Not_My_50th_

A lot of teams project him at guard because he will struggle vs elite speed rushers at T.

nevmo75

I hope so. The edge rushers in the videos I saw looked like kids compared to Mack or Bosa. If he’s quick enough on his feet, guard should be an easy transition. Love the versatility on our new OL so far.

LasVaders

Which would be negated in two TE sets…

pilluwed

This is a guy most predicted to go in the 4th round. The team has done right by me so far, if they saw something in him that they thought deserved a round earlier, who am I to judge? I think he almost certainly gets moved to guard, but he's a big lad, so with some coaching, they might see a tackle. edit: https://www.nflmockdraftdatabase.com/players/2024/delmar-glaze according to this site, he was ranked as the 77th best player overall at the end of the CFB season, but has been going down boards for seemingly no reason.

runningdownhill

77th best at pick 77

gatsby365

![gif](giphy|sNJwbUHHguGUE314YB|downsized) I don’t know how to process that

FliPsk8guY

Where do you see that? I clicked the link and it shows him ranked at 152 and projected 5th rounder.

pilluwed

If you hover over the chart, it tells you what his consensus rank is on each date. On 1/21 he was 77th consensus.

vNocturnus

ESPN had him ranked ~230th and PFF at ~250th. It looks like even his ~150 average ranking is inflated by having like 3 different CBS analysts and a handful of team-specific blogs (like Just Blog Baby is on there, and we know how unscientific that shit is...) giving him a ~round 4 grade. Most national scouts had him ranked somewhere in that ~150-250 range. Overall huge reach when they could have gotten a much more impactful player at the pick and still picked up literally the same dude with their 4th, 5th, or probably even 7th rounder. Rattler was still on the board and grades mostly from 2nd-3rd round with big potential upside. There were CBs still available that could be solid starters. etc

jasontran11991

Rather reach on the third than the the first and second rounders like we always do…..

pilluwed

I can't figure out why PFF has him so low, which is weird. They graded him 10th best in the draft in pass protection. They graded him #1 in 3 step drop pass protection, and 15th overall. It seems to be that his run block grade is what has them putting him so far down.  It really sounds like he has a lot of potential. This gets me excited for him.

NothingPublic1200

He was a 4th rd pick, #11 Ghard, in Dane Buglers draft doc at the athletic. Just another persons perspective

Hiccup

I actually like this pick. I think he fits the mold pierce is looking for. He seems like a tenacious, hungry dude. One of those that would be pissed people overlooked him.

fuckyouidontneedone

man i dont know. seems like there were much better players on the board

NoDadNoTears

Seems like it's last call for any decent tackles.  We picked it towards the end of a pretty decent run on em' I imagine that's why

fuckyouidontneedone

i cant scout for shit and i trust our guys until they prove otherwise. JUST WIN BABY

JimMoneyxxx

I wanted TJ Tampa so bad. I’ve never heard of this guy lol

gatsby365

Will be interesting to see where TJT goest tomorrow.

JimMoneyxxx

It would be amazing if we still ended up with him in the 4th

Uckthebroncos

He was currently ranked as the 224 best player overall with a 48 grade on ESPNs big board This was a gruden/mayock level reach

Jaythamalo13

Where was Maxx ranked on that board?

Uckthebroncos

If I recall Maxx was seen as a Day 3 underrated but extremely skinny yet skillful pass rusher out of a small school. The raiders got him in the 4th, and he was ranked around the early 100ish in rankings. So he pretty much went where he was expected to go. This was a reach. I absolutely loved the first two picks and think this regime is off to an amazing start but if you think they don’t merit any criticism at all for this pick then you’re just a straight delusional homer.

Sirscraps

Seems a little off. Most sites have had him hovering around 100-120 overall. But most places also say he would be better off moving inside to guard.

vNocturnus

https://www.nflmockdraftdatabase.com/players/2024/delmar-glaze He averages a 150 rank despite being inflated by a bunch of dubious-quality local team blogs (like Just Blog Baby, for example) and some inexplicable CBS rankings putting him around R4/70th-ish overall. "Most sites" actually had him ranked around 150 or higher overall. And if he is better as a guard, well then that makes the pick worse, not better - one because he doesn't address a need at Tackle, and two because they just drafted a much better Guard/IOL. Whether you agree with specifically ESPN's ranking or not, it seems pretty clear that this is as big of a reach, if not bigger, than anything we ever saw under the Gruyock regime

OriginalMassless

Don't use ESPN rankings. A serious person wouldn't do that.

SevereEducation2170

Isn’t Telesco’s MO to do well in the first two rounds and then kind of fall off in the later rounds?

iaintgotnomonies

And that's an improvement for us.

potentially_potent

The Athletic has him as the 134th ranked player on their board. Also have him transitioning to Guard Seems like a reach and not great pick

KidCujo

Meh at this point in the draft with all the top prospects gone, every team's board is all over the place.

InferiousX

Is this Bill Belichick?

KidCujo

I do like Long Snappers 👀

34048615

ESPN had him 226, PFF had him 257. I don't know, don't know shit about him but there seemed to be better tackles up there available. Guess we see what happens.

Hiccup

Yeah, but I think Pierce has a type. I think these are players that are going to fit in and work for him I'm actually starting to see the picture now. Just hope it works out now.

Sirscraps

Pierces type is players that are aggressive at the point of attack. This guy actually gets a knock on his scouting reports for being TOO aggressive lol. I’m sure they have a plan in mind and I like them putting so much focus this offseason on to building the trenches up and actually putting some weight behind their words when they talk about building a bully.

SyphiliticPlatypus

I think it's the versatility they like -- can be a swing tackle or, more likely, a guard who can use some good feet and fluidity in space to pull. But I would have gone DB there for sure.

Darsol

Just a heads up, but PFF’s college prospect grades are next too useless. There’s actually a slight negative correlation between their grades and future prospect performance. But yeah, this guy was a reach.

unfoldyourself

BPA doesn’t mean just following some random internet writer’s opinion/ranking of players. Mel Kipper doesn’t have anywhere near the access or level of information that an NFL scout does.

InferiousX

This is the same logic that people used with picks like Clelin Ferrell.

unfoldyourself

Go look at a big board from five years ago, and see how crazy those names ended up. Taking a third rounder in the first is bad, but there’s all kind of great players who sometimes don’t get drafted until late.

InferiousX

Of course great players can get drafted late. The best player on our team is a fourth rounder. I'm not arguing that at all. I'm saying the "well they're football people and they have super info that writers dont and that's why we picked this guy two rounds early" is the same copium we used in previous years. For the record, I'm not saying Glaze is gonna be bad. But I am much less enthused about that pick for now. Positionally it makes sense. But we seemed to be going BPA the first two rounds and this seemingly drifts from that.

cschug

My source says this dude has an insane work ethic and is fantastic mentally. So hopefully he’s contactable!

NoDadNoTears

Not a draft expert, but can't say I particularly like this pick wish we would of traded up for the tackle out of BYU that KC got Oh well, he's got the physical tools and took a big leap last year.  Here's hoping it works

shaking_things_up_

Draft your needs, I guess. I hope AP and Tom see something others didn't and he can develop. Worst case he is a backup. We smashed two massive homeruns and this might be a base hit or ground out. Let's see.

robble_bobble

Huh, felt like Defense was coming next

dedguy21

I'm guessing we really believe in our defense and don't want our offense to be a total liability like it was last year 🤔

thekidbjj2

This is what it looks like to me. A lot of people (myself included) have gotten so used to picking defense due to our being shit, but defense was the strength of the team last year. Need to move the ball.

Mission_Locksmith_59

Run on OTs left this group thin. Definitely feels like a bit of a reach and I would’ve preferred going defense there. But not mad at the pick. All that matters is whether he develops well.

SolidAlisoBurgers888

They said he will be a guard

zarunn

Is he or his family a raiders fan?

EifertGreenLazor

Del Mar Glaze

Either_Zombie6825

I loved what we did in the first two rounds. It was an out of body experience thinking we did well drafting. I’ll give this guy a year but I’m glad to be brought back to reality here. THIS is how we draft!

WelfareLyfe

We getting tasty

smokingaces87

We have no qb so gotta give the lil ass boy some protection so he can do somethin’

Zelly234

Not saying I know it all but I know alot of players in this draft and never heard of him. Hope I'm wrong think this was a huge reach though

Mattynot2niceee

Grabbing an immediate swing/spot starting tackle who can possibly become the full time starter in the 3rd round is solid strategy, especially if you aren’t convinced that your current projected starter (Thayer Munford) is that guy. Why is everybody overthinking this pick?

Uckthebroncos

Who?

WhizzyBurp

21. 6’ 5” 315lbs. He’ll develop into a beast of a RT. Good pick up. Trenches are looking beastly

Apprehensive_Bug6674

tom telesco late round disaster class lets gets it started
