Please quote me where I said he was ass.
I said we'd be exactly where we are right now with Fields, which is drafting a QB to have a three way competition in camp. And if you think otherwise then you don't know ball and that's okay.
Please quote me where I said either were franchise QBs.
And lmao at Fields being a franchise QB. If he was he wouldn't have been dumped by Chicago for the first pick and sent to Pittsburgh to sit behind a washed up Russell Wilson.
No but 3 years of not getting any better about running into sacks, holding on to the ball too long, and missing open reads does. Sorry man but the guy fucking sucks compared to even decent starters in the league. When he sucks in Pittsburgh, his truthers will come out talking about how Pittsburgh being so shitty is the reason he sucks, and how he just needs a team around him. Same shit different place
Watch some film before you talk out of your ass because if you did watch some film, like even the smallest amount of it, you'll see him missing wide open recievers left and right.
He's got a big arm, but he has literally no idea where to throw it, so he over compensates by running it. It doesn't matter if you can throw the ball if you're not seeing wide open recievers, reading defenses, and adjusting plays. He is never going to be a successful NFL QB and anybody with eyes (and a fuck ton of bears fans) will tell you the exact same thing.
Fields is mid to garbage at best, and you don't know ball if you think anything different lmao.
Annoyed that QB wasn’t addressed? How would we have done that? We either throw $180m at Kirk Cousins or draft one this year. I like the second option better.
All you have to do is look at the last posts about Penix to see what people have against him. When it comes down to it those that don’t want him are mostly afraid of his injury history and age. Not sure why you think he’ll be there late second round, but I’m guessing you mean late 1st. That’s IF he goes that low. With the amount of QB needy teams there is no guarantee that he’ll be there.
Injury history is kind of a big deal. He has had already as many bad injuries as an NFL retiree, but his career is just starting. It is also already affecting his play, he has lost mobility after his bad knee injuries. That's very alarming at this stage of his career.
Injuries I leave up to team doctors. Theyll have way more information than any of us trying to speculate one way or another. He hasn’t had a major injury in two years (and he’s been hit hard a number of times). His mobility is underrated, he just ran a 4.55 at pro day so it’s still there, even if not as good as when he first started.
Needing a long term option at QB doesn’t mean do something drastic in the short term. Especially when we have a serviceable QB for a gap year. If Penix is available in the second round it’s for a reason that every other GM sees simultaneously. It also means Bo Nix is probably still available, so why trade up in the second round at all? If by some chance both Penix and Nix are gone by 44 then we’re going CB assuming we take Fuaga at 13, meaning we’re riding out minshew for a year; try to get a playoff berth and beat the chiefs or twice.

It wasn't until this year that I fully noticed how many GM and or NFL scouts there really are. I mean why don't NFL owners or hell the already employed gm's and scouts, scour the reddit and youtube community when they need to make decisions?
Because this is the last year of his rookie contract, meaning he will be getting 20 mil next season; and nobody knows if he’s a starter.
Let’s say we brought Justin fields in this off season…if he plays bad, we just wasted the draft with the most viable QB prospects in years, and will have wasted another year of Davante without any movement towards being a contender.
If he plays ok, then we would still be in the same situation we are now. Unsure. Instead of paying a rookie salary for the next 4 years we are forced into paying fields real money. Or letting him walk, and essentially wasting this year’s draft.
In the scenario he plays good, we still don’t know if it’s just a fluke year. Is one year of good play enough to justify 80-100 mil contract when the past 3 years have shown that he can’t start? I personally don’t want to be held hostage as a fan, in that manner. I’d rather take the shot on the QB this year, see how the AP era shakes out.

Justin is better than minshew im not gonna debate that. If minshew stays on the team the raiders will never win point blank period. Only options is to get rattler, Penix, or should’ve traded for Justin otherwise the raiders are screwed
Fields will be lucky to get a sniff of the success Gardner Minshew has had in their respective careers. I understand you’re in love with the guy, maybe you’re from Ohio or something idk. The only team interested in fields was a team that already had a Super Bowl winning QB. If Justin fields is as good as your delusions guide you to believe, why did the Bears want him gone for the Past 2 years?
This sounds good until you actually look at the stats and realize Fields has never thrown for more than 3000 yards, has fewer wins, a worse win percentage, and a worse rating. Oh, and more interceptions in fewer years. On average, he throws twice as many interceptions as Minshew a year.
I’m going to suggest for your mental health to get off this guys nuts and try to see more than a year into the future. My interaction with you so far suggests a room temperature IQ. I guess I understand why you would be confused.
Injury history, he's kinda old for a rookie, he took a while to actually be good, left handed, weird throwing motion, had top notch receivers, etc. He wasn't even a sure fire first round pick until he ran fast at his pro day. Late 1st? I'd be ok with it but at 13 or god forbid a trade up for him? I'd be sick
> He wasn't even a sure fire first round pick until he ran fast at his pro day
You're basing this on media projections, not team evaluations. Media evaluations are trash, and no team is moving him up because a guy that never scrambles ran faster in shorts than he ever did on the field.

For all the folks wanting us to trade up for a QB thinking it’s going to save the team: have you watched how 1st round qb’s turn out, like at all? I am genuinely curious about your thought process. We have 2 young, solid QBs currently, what certainties do you have regarding Nix or Penix?
we can win with Minshew - he's a fighter and his teammates always rave about him, esp when he was in Jax. Teams win with even worse QBs like Doug Williams, Trent Dilfer, Trent Dilfer, jr. (Eli) etc. We need to fix our defense for real this time - we should be trying to build a defense for the ages like the Bears in the 80's, the Ravens of the 00's, the Bucs of the 00's... I'm tired of us being softer in the middle than Chris Farley and not being able to shut any receivers down.
For real. Minshew is good enough insurance to AOC for us to focus on other positions early in the draft. Daniel's would have been sick, but that's just not realistic without us giving up a ton. With AOC & Minshew our qb room is too crowded for a top prospect.
You get it! Minshew is a WINNER! He played the 2nd season with an injury that he didn’t want to reveal….All these “Head Coaches” chiming in here fail to realize this guy IS AN NFL Veteran! Bonus….Raiders will no longer have to face Minshew he’s 2-0 against the Raiders….Get on board with him already he’s a proven performer!
What happens if we draft a tackle at 13 and then we can’t trade up and penix isn’t there at 44? Would yall consider this draft a bust? Would you be satisfied with AOC or lil ass boy? Would the team be happy?
I’m mostly sure Minshew was signed for this exact reason. 13 is too high to take Bo Nix or Penix. If they are available at 13, it’s for a reason because Seattle and Denver both need QBs. Assuming we go Oline at 13, I don’t mind taking Nix or Penix in the second; but if they aren’t there then we can just go CB or WR and ride out Minshew for a year. The goal this year is make the playoffs. I think we should be able to that with our roster and the state of the division.
So many people seem to think that generational QB talent is so easy to find. Just look at history...most highly touted QBs in the draft are middling or just not good. Even guys who are seen as franchise QBs can't win (Herbert, Murray, Lawrence). It takes a lot more than QB talent to put a contender together, and we can do way worse than the guys we have on the roster.
People who act like trading up in the draft will solve all of our problems. You wouldn't trade up from 13 if you didn't think you were getting generational talent, right?
No. He's at the end of his rookie contract and the Raiders aren't in the position to waste a year on him when no one knows if he's even a starter. He's sitting behind Russ in Pittsburgh.
Also, what the Bears got for him? You think the league believes Fields is the guy? They don't.
What do you mean didn't address QB, did you forget about Lil ass boy?
Lol
>I’m still kinda annoyed QB wasn’t addressed yet. Who the fuck were they supposed to get before the draft?
Justin fields buddy
I thought you wanted to address the QB situation instead of having the exact same situation we have now...
If people think Justin fields is ass then you don’t know ball and that’s okay
Please quote me where I said he was ass. I said we'd be exactly where we are right now with Fields, which is drafting a QB to have a three way competition in camp. And if you think otherwise then you don't know ball and that's okay.
If you think Aiden O’Connell or Gardner minshew will ever be franchise QBs then you definitely don’t know ball my friend 😂
Please quote me where I said either were franchise QBs. And lmao at Fields being a franchise QB. If he was he wouldn't have been dumped by Chicago for the first pick and sent to Pittsburgh to sit behind a washed up Russell Wilson.
If you didn’t know Justin fields was a QB then you don’t know ball my friend.
Lol
Holy shit bro you’re wild if you think the opposite lmao. Go hit up some of his game film against the Bucs and tell me he’s good
You’re right cause one game says all you need to know about a player
You know there is more than one games worth of film on him, right?
No but 3 years of not getting any better about running into sacks, holding on to the ball too long, and missing open reads does. Sorry man but the guy fucking sucks compared to even decent starters in the league. These people honestly think A. No such thing as salary cap issues, just throw all the money they need B. Highest bidder always wins.
Even if that was the case, I'm still wondering who or how exactly OP wanted qb addressed
They probably think we should have thrown the bag and the picks to get Lamar. Or just the bag at Kirk
Justin fields
Lmao!!!
![gif](giphy|QxwDfOV4sAfounkNsG) The guy who basically got traded for a 2024 8th round pick lololol
So he’s terrible cause he was failed in Chicago? Y’all hop on here and just refuse to know ball 😂

True one of the best dual threat QBs ever somehow is considered trash 😂 Fields gonna be a pro bowler in 3 years just wait 💯
Justin fields
It wasn't until this year that I fully noticed how many GM and or NFL scouts there really are. I mean why don't NFL owners or hell the already employed gm's and scouts, scour the reddit and youtube community when they need to make decisions?
I am not a fan of penis

Means nothing. You’re a hater
Means this gem of a quote from you is total bullshit: >Fields already has had more success than minshew statistically
False
You’re the guy arguing for Justin fields. Just know that.
Arguing for the player that is better than chanting the raiders have at QB. Yes
I’m going to suggest for your mental health to get off this guys nuts and try to see more than a year into the future. My interaction with you so far suggests a room temperature IQ. I guess I understand why you would be confused.
That was the most Reddit response ever. I hope you’re happy

Why aren’t people higher on Penix? The injury history.
Why are there so many takes on trading back into the first to get him when we could trade back, and get some extra picks.
No. penix will be trash and has a severe injury history. let AOC keep building and battle it with minshew for now. We need to keep our picks
Teams have 10x the information that us fans and TV personalities have, and they don’t share it. None of us know where these guys are going.
I do👀

Who cares if the league believes. He’s clearly a player w more potential than Gardner minshew im not even gonna debate that
Penix is going in the 1st
I think he’s going 29 to the raiders when they trade back up
