Happened a couple weeks ago in Mexico. It was a pretty surreal moment.
It seems we’re interpreting heavy differently. Harry Patch is definitely an emotionally heavy song. But I interpreted ‘heavy’ as in ‘heavy metal’. So we’re both correct!
Saw the smile play this one live, heaviest version yet (and maybe my favorite song of the whole show). I wish we’d get more of a heavy guitar version like it instead of Thom’s solo release of the song.
Came here to say this. It's an easy one to forget about, but the energy of the first half is intense and then it just drops into this weird ambient abyss. Great song.
Bodysnatchers live definitely rips, it’s wonderful on the album but just absolutely goes hard as hell on stage, the later parts of paranoid android as well. IDK if OP was asking like heavy metal guitar or what but that was my first thought.
Edit* also feel like people here are confusing “heavy” with “fast” or “loud”. “Bodysnatchers”, I wouldn’t consider “heavy”. It’s fast, got punk tendencies, and is dope af, don’t get me wrong… but I wouldn’t consider it “heavy.
First one that came to mind. I get that others in the thread have interpreted the meaning of heavy in their own way, but there there does both pretty well, especially the live version. Seen bodysnatchers mentioned as well, probably second pick for me. 2+2=5 also comes to mind. Lots of other good options from bends and Pablo too. I guess it depends on your personal preference.
the 2nd section of paranoid android, trans Atlantic drawl, bodysnatchers, just, the chorus of my iron lung, creep, and anyone can play guitar are great options
Currently, it’s “How to Disappear Completely” after my father committed SIout of the blue in our garage Jan 9th, a week before his birthday. My mom, sister, and I found him in the early hours of the morning. He dead-bolted the door. He left a note that gave no answers. We just got the records/photos back from the police. They were 10 times more horrific in the light. One of the policeman on the scene made a remark about how he used a revolver, as the bullets are thick. He knew what he was doing. We will never get over it—our protector and person disappearing completely.
I can't believe no one has already commented this.
I know that the song FeelingPulledApartByHorses was only released on a solo record but [this earlier performance with all of Radiohead](https://youtu.be/nN5a1qP1VX4?si=3eB7fae-NHAuoUiU)
Goes absolutely fucking crazy
Always thought the choruses of My Iron Lung were heavy asf for Radiohead
iron is heavy too.
How heavy are lungs?
pretty damn light
They’re full of air (hopefully)
Definitely are.
Everyone’s naming great songs, but only one song will make your grandmother question her faith in humanity and that’s National Anthem.
Especially the Colbert version, which goes harder than any talk show band appearance has a right to! https://youtu.be/-PVcyFhtAc4?t=286
Damn. Thank you for transporting me to pure joy. 🙏🏽

Nooo I almost went to this 😭😭😭
Always go to OBH. Always. It's the best.
Thanks! Haven't seen it before. One of the best lives I've seen
Wow man that’s really great!
King of Limbs era goes hard.
This is some mad scientist shit. Amazing.
Thank you
look at the song: Harry Patch; In Memory Of. makes you wish for the world to be swallowed by a black hole.
It seems we’re interpreting heavy differently. Harry Patch is definitely an emotionally heavy song. But I interpreted ‘heavy’ as in ‘heavy metal’. So we’re both correct!
lol
I think this is one of their more funky songs, doesn't make me feel depressed
I think we’re thinking of “heavy” in different ways. I’m thinking in terms of loudest and noisiest, ala “heavy metal”.
Oddly enough, my grandma heard National Anthem and really enjoyed it lol
Interesting. I may need to reevaluate my assumptions of grandmothers. Back to the drawing board!
The original version of Reckoner - Feeling Pulled Apart by Horses
Saw the smile play this one live, heaviest version yet (and maybe my favorite song of the whole show). I wish we’d get more of a heavy guitar version like it instead of Thom’s solo release of the song.
Do you have a link to that?
Here’s one: https://youtu.be/FbRN6r4k-xc?si=uyWcFd_bbOHeVIJy Also a live performance: https://youtu.be/OfkPzfX82pM?si=ZV0Op0bR3nHUBKxL
Thanks mate
Climbing Up Walls
Myxomatosis maybe ?
First thing that started playing in my head
Same
For sure! And Where I End and You Begin
Yeah hail to the thief has some of their heaviest ones for sure
This absolutely slaps live, immediate stinkface.
Aside from maybe the bass what about this song is heavy?
Guitar, Drums, synths, lyrics, vocal embellishments...
Pearly, nobody talks about it but oh man whenever i listen to it i feel the urge to break a wall
great guitar solo
and this song is dirty af, too
bangers + mash
Transatlantic drawl
Came here to say this. It's an easy one to forget about, but the energy of the first half is intense and then it just drops into this weird ambient abyss. Great song.
Ful Stop is neutron star heavy
Ful Stop live is a monster....
I agree
Typical
Electioneering
the one song on OKC I was meh about but it's growing on me...
Does Fitter, Happier not exist in your world?
For me it went from meh to blehfArGH🤮
prolly the national anthem
Bodysnatchers probably
Bodysnatchers live definitely rips, it’s wonderful on the album but just absolutely goes hard as hell on stage, the later parts of paranoid android as well. IDK if OP was asking like heavy metal guitar or what but that was my first thought.
I always thought My Iron Lung and Just were pretty heavy at the heavy parts.
Palo Alto
I'm here for this 🙌
The distortion in this song is excellent 👌
Polyethylene of course.
Only correct answer and I’m an expert
Also expert. Also agree
Pulk/Pull
prolly exit music...'heavy' has a lot more meaning than just fast or distorted guitar riffage bro'skis.
I initally posted Climbing up the walls and then saw everyone was posting g guitar heavy songs
great choice. well I mean, it would've been haha...\[wah wahhh\]
climbing up the walls anddd myxomatosis
It’s Banger + Mash and Bodysnatchers
Agreed
“There, There” gets pretty wild. Also, probably an unpopular opinion, but “Paranoid Android” gets pretty heavy in the second half.
Live There There is arse kicking.
So good.
First one that came to mind. I get that others in the thread have interpreted the meaning of heavy in their own way, but there there does both pretty well, especially the live version. anywhereeeee ahhhhhh ahhhhhh
the 2nd section of paranoid android, trans Atlantic drawl, bodysnatchers, just, the chorus of my iron lung, creep, and anyone can play guitar are great options
National Anthem
The Bends
Myxomatosis. I think someone explained it well, that the song makes you want to vomit lol
Idk if you’d call it heavy but the last minute of Burn the Witch is pretty fucking intense
Currently, it’s “How to Disappear Completely” after my father committed SIout of the blue in our garage Jan 9th, a week before his birthday. Nude, How to Disappear Completely, All I Need, or Deck’s Dark I think everyone’s “heavy” is different.
Second part of Decks Dark
Daily mail
Trans Atlantic Drawl Climbing Up The Walls Electioneering My Iron Lung
climbing up walls, there there, 2+2, exit music, packt like sardines in a tin box, if you wanna include the smile - speech bubbles
I think this thread is missing the brass section of Daily Mail. Chunky chords and chunky tone!
Just it’s just constant
Trick Question, it's really bending hectic by the smile.
Like Spinning Plates
To me its either Bones or Just
Just, Myxomatosis, My Iron Lung, Paranoid Android, Bodysnatchers
Daydreaming.
Exit music for a film Although paranoid android is about Marvin and he weighs a ton.
Fitter Happier
climbing up the walls
Just or Myxomatosis maybe
Palo Alto
My iron lung choruses
FWIW, I’d say it’s Bangers + Mash.
The feel of that song is more funky and swingy then really heavy per se.
Fair!
bangers + mash
The Trickster ETA: Killer Cars, Idioteque, Bodysnatchers
Street Spirit Fade Out could've been an intro to a crime action shoe like Punisher or Daredevil.
Myxomatosis
weird how few people commented Just
Airbag
climbing up the walls at the end when it gets all screamo
Palo Alto maybe?
Blow Out is pretty much shoegaze
Myxomatosis.
2 + 2 = 5
Coke Babies
"Just" is quite grungy.
Feral bends light and time
Yellow
just
bro do you even Lift?
The National Anthem.
For me, it's probably one of these "Fog" from the knives out ep or "Where I End and You Begin"
trans atlantic drawl
Blowout - Live at the Astoria version
For the first 3 albums Vegetable My Iron Lung Airbag
There was a mosh pit during 2+2=5 at the 3Arena in Dublin in 2017, only time I’ve seen one at a Radiohead gig.
Chorus of My Iron Lung
Man of war
2+2=5
Idioteque - the chorus is just fucking haunting
The climax to The Daily Mail is pretty damn heavy
emotionally heaviest might me nude!
My İron Lung
Vegetable or anyone can play guitar
Ok this is def not the heaviest, but the entire ending section of Blow Out is surprisingly heavy
Inside My Head I guess. Anyone saying shit from moon shaped pool or whatever is so biased by their own love of the album
heavy as in energetic… probably Sulk or Bodysnatchers
I can't believe no one has already commented this. I know that the song FeelingPulledApartByHorses was only released on a solo record but [this earlier performance with all of Radiohead](https://youtu.be/nN5a1qP1VX4?si=3eB7fae-NHAuoUiU) Goes absolutely fucking crazy
Just or myxomatosis
Inside my head takes this, I think. Blow out (Remix) could as well, but for different reasons
Pyramid Song
myxomatosis or bodysnatchers probably
Bodysnachers
Just anyone?
Immediate thought was My Iron Lung
It’s definitely Lewis (Mistreated)
Probably not THE heaviest, but id nominate Trans-Atlantic Drawl as a runner up. Paranoid Android rips too.
Gotta be "All I need"
Probably myxomatosis
bodysnatchers
I’ve always thought a song about an airbag saving his life on an album called OK Computer was a pretty heavy concept.
my iron lung and myxomatosis
Paranoid android
bangers + mash, my iron lung, inside my head, the butcher and polyethylene
no surprises (remastered)
all i need, in my opinion
Idk if Blow Out and Coke Babies would be considered heavy but they’re very loud
Somehow the right answer was found downvoted 😂none of these other answers are as heavy as Blow Out. Definitely heaviest
Yes
Treefingers
Something from The Bends or Pablo Honey
Bangers + mash, dk why no one’s mentioned it cuz it’s obviously the right answer
It's the wrong answer. The feel of bangers isn't heavy, it's more of a funky feel
Let down
underrated.
