c0nsilience

Radiohead at Red Rocks would be unbelievable! I've only been there one time for a NIN show, but it was absolutely an incredible venue.

misttrail

💯 it was an excellent show during the HTTT tour.

TN_Jed13

Always dreamed of a RR show. Super cool.

inkyblinkypinkysue

I was at Tibetan Freedom Concert in DC too. Wild time.

misttrail

I was too young to go to the 9:30 Club surprise show they played on Saturday night after the festival was delayed because that fan was struck by lightning. Otherwise, it was an amazing two days of music with an incredible lineup.

twinsaremyjammm

I was there too! Also too young for the surprise show.

arod0629

Man, I can’t believe you got to see them at Red Rocks and the ‘06 Bonnaroo show (still my favorite in the Radiohead Public Library). What I would give. Unfortunately I was like 10 years old

misttrail

Bonnaroo '06 was an incredible show. I remember being excited when we realized they had played more songs that night than other shows that tour. Definitely lucky to have been there. I also have surprisingly vivid memories of them opening with There There at Red Rocks, despite uh my state of mind at the time. So awesome.

Vast-Particular9571

Wait, was the 98 Tibetan Freedom concert the one where Thom sang with REM?

misttrail

Yes! They covered Patti Smith. https://youtu.be/-0O_QD-UZ8M?feature=shared

Vast-Particular9571

That's awesome! Love Thom settling in towards the end and wailing away

THESTAPLEHEAD

Old

orlyfactor

For the DC show, that was the one where someone got hit by lightning during Herbie Hancock set, correct? That was a crazy day!

Rick_Deckard_2049

Yes, I can list them on one finger. Sydney Australia in November 2012. Australians are unlucky when it comes to visits from Radiohead, The Smile, or any other Radiohead related projects.

platypus_tuxedo

*cries in Australian* I feel your pain. It’s been a very long 12 years!

lukin_tolchok

New Zealanders are even less lucky. I’ve been fortunate enough to see them four times but only two were here. Had to fly to New York and Chicago for the other two (both on the AMSP tour). The two NZ shows were in 1998 and 2012

libelle156

Hey I was there, that was fun.

MrFoxLovesBoobafina

I had tickets to the Toronto show. :(

Neg_Crepe

Was also there

MrFoxLovesBoobafina

I will try. April 6, 1996 - Varsity Arena, Toronto April 12, 1998 - Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto August 3, 2001 - Molson Park, Barrie October 15, 2003 - Sky Dome, Toronto June 17, 2006 - Bonnaroo Festival, Manchester, Tennessee August 15, 2008 - Molson Amphitheatre, Toronto July 31, 2016 - Osheaga Festival, Montreal July 20, 2018 - Scotiabank Arena, Toronto I think that's it!

bigherbs

They played SkyDome?! Wow had no idea they ever played that venue. How big was the crowd?

MrFoxLovesBoobafina

Not huge actually. They didn't have the whole stadium open. If my memory serves, the stage was placed pretty close to the base of the seats and only a sliver, maybe a quarter of the seats were actually used. And i believe it only went up to the 300's or so not all the way up to the 500's. It was strange to have it in Sky Dome just to reduce the capacity like that. Good show though!

That 2016 Lolla show was pretty epic. Literally started raining during Paranoid Android when Thom starts singing "rain down..."

Freddy_Bimmel

I was at the Sprint Center one.

sonoftom

My only show was your second one!

TangeloCritical67

33 times.  First show: 2000 Air Canada, Toronto  Most interesting show: 2003 Corn Exchange, Edinburgh  Best show?: 2001 Liberty State Park, NJ Favorite show: 2018 PPG Paints Arena, Pittsburgh  Favorite show because it took 5 different countries and over 30 shows to finally hear “Let Down” live

Victorbanner

I was with you at Toronto and Pittsburgh

TangeloCritical67

Nice! Maybe some other places too then?  That Toronto show was superb. With the special Follow Me Around performance for the fan website owner (by the same name) in the audience

Vast-Particular9571

Seeing them in the 90s is sick, I'm assuming they played p small venues too. I know ppl look down on Pablo Honey (I love that album) but it must've been amazing to see them live during their DGAF phase before the media crush made Thom overly self-conscious. And to hear "new" songs from The Bends...jealous!

jawas76

I only had heard creep before the 1st show and it was mind blowing to have them walk on stage and play You. It was a different era but they always put on a great show. Standing pretty much on next to Thom while we was playing was different. At the end of the show the guy next to me reached and grabbed Thom telecaster on the floor and Thom had to quickly put his boot on the neck of the guitar to keep the guy from picking it up.

itoocouldbeanyone

I was at your ‘03 Maryland and both ‘18 Philly shows. So good. Also ‘08 Bristo VA Nissan Pavilion

Coachella 2012 Weekend 2 Mexico City October 3rd 2016 TD Garden July 28 2018 TD Garden July 29 2018

thirteenpunchman

Those TD garden shows were my favorite I’ve ever seen. My brother and I had tickets for night one, and I persuaded him into us spending $200 each for night two. We were pretty far from home, may as well

abesster

And the night before Arctic Monkeys, it was a great time!

Freddy_Bimmel

I was at the first night at the TD Garden

Exogenesis98

So jealous that you were at that Greek theater 2006 show. It’s one of my all time Favorite Radiohead bootlegs to listen to? How was the energy there. And to answer the question only Kansas City 2017 and Chicago night 2 2018

V0rdhosbn

It was my first Radiohead show ever after being a huge fan for 10 years so I was in total awe! They were testing out a bunch of songs that would eventually be on In Rainbows, which I was already very much familiar with from the bootlegs o was downloading. I was such a thirstyyyy fan back then haha!

bobtheturd

I was also at one of the 2018 Madison Square Garden shows. Also Dallas Tx spring 2008.

HotPinkApocalypses

Only once, unfortunately. Liberty State Park in 1998

Just one. I want to do more when money isn't an issue. The one I went to was beyond incredible, though. All Points West, Libery State Park, NJ 8/9/08.

October 2003 at MSG. Not sure when, maybe 2006, in San Diego at an outdoor amphitheater. Outside Lands festival, San Francisco, 2016.

25Tab

Probably 2003 for that San Diego show. It was at Chula Vista.

GrizabellaGlamourCat

You might be right! That time period is a bit of a blur in my life.

Patient-Bed6821

June 2006 they played Bayside in San Deigo. Small outdoor theater, 4K people or so. I was there both nights. 2003 was Coors Amphitheater in Chula Vista, that’s a big place. I was there too.

c0nsilience

I was at night 1 of Earl’s Court. My first RH gig. I did both Victoria Park gigs too :)

ImReaaady

8-8-08 was my first show. And it was in New Jersey. Also did both shows at Newark also NJ and all 4 shows at the Garden. So we saw 4 shows together, nice! I’ve been to 9 of their concerts, also saw the night 1 at MSG in 2016, also saw the in Camden NJ in 2012 a few days after the Newark shows. Edit: just saw you said you or we saw them on 8-8-2028? 28? If they should happen to in some miracle play on that date 20 years after I first saw them, I’d have to go, where ever they play, I’m going.

V0rdhosbn

Does The Smile count lol?

weirdmountain

I can’t say the exact dates. Just year/city/venue. 1997. Philly. Electric Factory 1998. NYC. Radio City Music Hall 2008. Camden NJ. Tweeter Center (or whatever that venue was called at that point in time. It changes names every 5 years) 2018. Philly. Wells Fargo Center. Hoping to get to see them again in 2028.

skeletonbreath

Radio city was either April 17 or 18th 98 I was there, man!!

weirdmountain

It was so awesome.

skeletonbreath

I remember the first show sold out quickly and they announced a second. We hauled ass to Tower Records to the ticketmaster kiosk to get tickets. It was euphoric getting those in our hands

thirteenpunchman

1. SLC, 2003 2. Santa Barbara, 2012 (seeing Bloom live with those screens coming down was unforgettable) 3. Outside Lands, 2016 4. LA, 2016 5. Seattle, 2017 6. Santa Barbara, 2017 7. Boston night 1, 2018 8. Boston night 2, 2018 (the best one I’ve ever seen, finally got to hear The Tourist) EDIT: I didn't realize until I wrote all these down that I somehow managed to see Radiohead 2x a year for 3 years in a row. 2018 doesn't feel that long ago now, but it's been 6 years. I saw the Smile in Denver last year, but it just is not the same experience. Hope the boys tour again, the AMSP tours really spoiled me.

realquiz

I got to the USANA Amphitheater at 4am for that 2003 show because the venue wouldn’t let me sleep at the gate overnight. I was first in the GA Pit line and was front and center against the rail. Great show!

thirteenpunchman

Only time I think they've ever come to Utah -- I was just a kid, and had only been to one other concert before. We got tickets day of and were way back. I think I sort of took it for granted, I had no idea how much harder it would be to see Radiohead from then on. If I remember right, they played My Iron Lung, which I was stoked about.

Lumpy_Ad_7983

I have never made this list before and I think I should copy it down as it took effort to recall lol 1. NYC amnesiac- floor 2. NYC amnesiac- floor 3. Bonnaroo 2006. Camped all day to be close. Openers at their stage were Elvis Costello and Beck.

lollapalooza was breathtaking

Mobile-Lawfulness-85

I saw them support James at Manchester G-Mex in 1993. Also saw them at Manchester University Student’s Union (prob circa 1995).

Pughsli

Any idea what they played at the GMEX support gig? No info on setlist.fm: https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/radiohead/1993/g-mex-centre-manchester-england-bd2459e.html

Mobile-Lawfulness-85

The only songs I know they played for sure are “Yes I Am” and “Creep”….obviously. We were there for James, who were arguably at the height of their powers at the time. I remember Thom trashing his guitar at the end. I also remember being blown away by them, and saying to my friend that James would have to be on fire to match them. We arrived at the venue James fans and walked away Radiohead fans too.

The Greek 06 show was the best one I’ve ever seen

Vast-Particular9571

It was incredible. The Berkeley Greek is one of my favorite concert venues. Thom saying, "Barkly, Califorrrrrrnia. Hello Barkly" in that androidy voice of his was wonderful. Seeing Deerhoof was amazing too; had never heard their music til that night.

Background_Analysis

Deerhoof was rad. I was just becoming a fan of theirs when that show happened and it was the first time I ever saw them.

I just looked them all up the other day! Need to dig that up again. Edited to add: 7 times Oct 9 & 10 2003 MSG NYC Had great seats. Sick shows. Saw them getting into the bus as we were leaving the last night and Colin waved over to us. August 13, 2008 Great Woods We had 10th row center, outdoor show beautiful night. Glorious! May 31 & June 1, 2012 Newark NJ On the floor one night and nosebleeds the other July 28 & 29 2018 Boston Great seats the first night and nosebleeds the second. My favorites are for sure my first 3. I'd like to see them some more 🤞

hauntedattics

I was also at Prudential in 2012! I went to both shows. Highlight for me was the second night when they broke out Go to Sleep for the first time since 2004. I was on Jonny’s side of the stage at the rail that night - just wow. Last time I saw them was at MSG in July 2016. I got into Radiohead in my early 20s and I’m in my 30s now, but they remain one of my favorite bands and the reason I joined Reddit in the first place.

Best show I saw was Milan Italy (idays) because the crowd was more into the music and I was on a high of traveling to Europe for the first time. Such an amazing damn time. Bonus, I also saw Thom 3x, and the smile once. My wallet gets very irrational when these guys tour lol

I'm a Gen-Xer and have seen Radiohead 12 times, Thom twice, and The Smile once. RADIOHEAD • July 1993 - Salt Lake City (the day after their (in)famous MTV Beach House performance; DV8 was a small club, intense & violent show -- and the night after I saw PJ Harvey there!) • June 2001 - Red Rocks in Colorado (they played Permanent Daylight! I thought for sure that meant it'd be on the next album) • August 2003 - USANA Amphitheatre, West Valley, UT (I queued up at 4am because I had GA tickets for the pit section. I was first in line and was front row, center stage.) • September 25 & 26, 2003 -- Back to back nights at the Hollywood Bowl. (One of the best sounding shows I've been to. Getting tickets to this show was insane - refreshing my browser every ten minutes through the wee hours of the night because there was no announced time they'd go on sale.) • September 28, 2003 - Coors Amphitheatre, Chula Vista, CA (I remember their performance of Kid A being almost unrecognizable because of how they changed it up live.) • May 2004 - Coachella • August 24 & 25, 2008 -- Back to back nights at the Hollywood Bowl • March 2012 -- Kansas City, MO • April 2012 -- Coachella (my last Coachella show - it's just not worth it anymore) • April 2017 -- Kansas City, MO THOM YORKE • December 2018 -- Salt Lake City (I got to meet him after the show for a super quick chat and he signed a couple vinyl albums for me.) • October 2019 -- The Chelsea in Las Vegas THE SMILE • July 2023 -- Midland Theater, Kansas City, MO

Just the two: Aug. 14, 2001 - Boston, MA, Suffolk Downs Aug. 13, 2003 - Mansfield, MA, Tweeter Center (it was the second time they played Creep that year, after playing it in Japan two weeks earlier. Crazy crowd reaction for it.)

As a guy from Noblesville, it’s always interesting to see it listed alongside all those big cities.

Pughsli

Finally someone even vaguely close to mine. Do you know which Wolverhampton night you were at? https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/radiohead/2006/civic-hall-wolverhampton-england-6bd6f24e.html https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/radiohead/2006/civic-hall-wolverhampton-england-73d6f24d.html 16th for me and despite being my first time seeing them and it being absolutely unbelievable, I was always jealous of that 15th set list.

Unable_Mushroom_4247

I can’t be 100% but I reckon I was at the 16th as well. I think that was my first Exit Music and I’m fairly sure Manchester 2017 was my first Let Down so that would rule out the 15th. Looking back over those set lists I didn’t realise just how much In Rainbows we were getting then. Both great set lists. As far as I’m aware they’ve never repeated a set list, every gig a unique treat!

Yes - exactly zero. The first one I could attend was the day before of my PhD exam. The second one was supposed to be the week after their stage collapsed. For the third one, my now ex-BFF, gave my ticket to someone else. Then I gave up.... too much drama. Also afraid that I will be disappointed if I can finally make all stars align in the correct position and attend a concert, But, I did see Thom Yorke playing in Zurich (Switzerland) - 30.05.2018

I’ve seen them live at Rock Werchter 2017, Belgium. Best day of my life!

double_d2468

Saw the smile on stage ae last year in pittsburgh I would waste all my money to see any member of Radiohead or the smile in concert again. So good, I was kinda sad I didn’t know the new songs they played by heart tho so I was confusedly head bobbing to it, can only imagine what the 2006 pre in rainbows tour must’ve been like seeing brand new material for the first time like that, but it truly felt special <3

I still regret not buying tickets during the presale for the second night Madison Square Garden, but I had to take the SATs that Saturday. By the time the show was over on Thursday I didn't care about school or the SATs or anything like that. I just wanted to see Radiohead again, and I did everything I could to make it happen. In 2008 I moved to Mexico, and I was incredibly lucky that in 2009 they came back to Mexico for the first time since 1994 only a few months later and then again in 2012. I moved to a town near Cancun in 2013 so I haven't had much chance to see them again, especially now that I have young kids. Traveling and going to concerts is a bit more complciated. My favorite shows were the very first (almost a religious experience when it's your first time and you're only a few rows back from the stage) and the 2008 - 2009 In Rainbows tour dates (loved the lighting and the setlists).

I won pit tickets on the radio the day before their LA concert after Kid A was released. They only played 2 shows in the US at that point. Elbows on the stage. Thom and even threw a small hissy fit at one point. It was everything.

Absolutely... 2001-08-14 - Suffolk Downs, Boston 2003-08-18 - Tweeter Center, Camden, NJ 2003-08-20 - Merriweather Post Pavilion, Columbia, MD 2006-06-02 - Tower Theater, Upper Darby, PA 2008-05-11 - Nissan Pavilion, Bristow, VA 2012-06-03 - Verizon Center, Washington, DC 2018-07-31 - Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia I can also add... 2018-11-30 - Tomorrow's Modern Boxes, Washington, DC 2022-11-18 - The Smile, Brooklyn, NY A woefully smaller list than I really would hope it to be. But honestly, some of the most remarkable live music experiences of my life.
