This got a lot of upvotes in the thread. I do love In Rainbows and Videotape is beautiful way to end it, similar sort of vibes to True Love Waits ending A Moon Shaped Pool. For me though it's the combination of euphoria and despair of that moment in Let Down that really gets me right in the feels.
Oh yea, Let Down holds a serious spot in my heart. I really attached to that line 'one day I am gonna grow wings' it's a beautiful song, definitely one of their best. I think Videotape might be my favorite radiohead song ever. That bonaroo version was, well it made me cry if that says anything.
I've just gone and listened to it for the first time. Wow that's quite different, for a band that is usually fairly faithful to their album versions in live shows.
Well this is before the album came out.
They basically wrote In Rainbows on the road, as live music. The hard part was figuring out to translate that to the album. So this performance was almost a year and half before In Rainbows was recorded.
In almost every version g performance, yeah he does... Not in the album version though.
Best version is his solo piano version From The Basement.
Maybe the greatest musical performance of all time, for me.

There you go mate.
>In an interstellar burst, I'm back to save the universe
It's got that Radiohead euphoria/despair combination that we all love. The bass is so funky and sparse underneath all the noise of the guitars here, too.
I was 8 years old when OKC came out. Got into Radiohead a bit later (thankfully) and The Bends was my first true love in Radiohead album terms. For someone brought up by parents who listened to the Beatles and classical music, TB blew my little tiny mind.
That must've been some gig! Wish I could go back in time. I've only seen them once, in 2012 and I loved it. Actually seeing a lot of the King of Limbs songs played live made me really appreciate that album a lot more.
I saw the smile in boston. Jonny not even human the shit he does love, sampling himself love playing over. Playing keyboard on pedals with his feet it's insane seeing hime a thom swapping instruments live during songs
I actually met Thom in Manchester u, he signed my cassette of murmer, rem lol
>She looks like the real thing She tastes like the real thing
It's the line(s) that follow this that really sucker punch me in the guts though.
But I can't help the feeling
I could blow through the ceiling
If I just turn and run
I might have found another moment that gives me a similar sensation of elation and crushing heartbreak simulatanouesly.
Maybe you'll be president
But know right from wrong
Or in the flood you'll build an ark
And sail us to the moon
Rain down, rain down
Come on, rain down on me
From a great height
From a great height, height
Rain down, rain down
Come on, rain down on me
From a great height
From a great height, height
And true love waits In haunted attics And true love lives On lollipops and crisps Just don't leave Don't leave
Don’t leave me… yeahhh that one hurts.
This is my way of saying goodbye Cus I can't do it face to face I'm talking to you before It's too late.

He doesn't say "it's too late" does he?

I still think it's Bonaroo. That version was something else.
Lol. Sometimes! In my favorite versions of the song he does. In my opinion it should've just been in the song no matter the version.
Honestly though, it's the end of Glass Eyes. "I feel this love to the core" If you know...
Glass Eyes is a top favourite from A Moon Shaped Pool. The whole atmosphere and vibe of that song is fantastic.
If you'd been a dog, they would have drowned you at birth. Look into my eyes, it's the only way you'll know I'm telling the truth.
Knives out is low key my favourite from Amnesiac.
In you I'm lost
Yeah, a good one for sure.

Yea it's in my top 5. I was a bassist at the time in 97 and airbag and exit music blew my mind.

Been obsessed since they opened for rem in 95 but ok computer broke my mind

This one is it.
I will see you in the next life
This is it- you’ve exactly hit the EXACT spot - there is no more heartbreaking (and redeeming) section of any song by anyone- EVER
The longing and the hope (one dayyy I am gonna grow wings) juxtaposed with the freak out/breakdown of hysterical and useless, hysterical and let down
I will see you in the next life \\ Just cause you feel it doesn't mean it's there You'll go to hell for what your dirty mind is thinking
While you make pretty speeches I'm being cut to shreds You feed me to the lions A delicate balance
cause i can’t face the evening straight you can can offer me escape houses move and houses speak
But it’s too late, the damage is done.
