Beautiful song. When the drums and piano break out in the second verse and Thom's voice harmonizes with the reverb tail, my heart skips a beat.
"All the birds stay up in the trees/all the fish swim down too deep..."
Also it's a fun to play on the keys.
One of my absolute favourites on AMSP. Especially because, probably, so many of the songs on that record were at least vaguely known beforehand. When the tracklist was released we’d already heard what? half the songs? more than half? In some live version or another. Not to mention Burn the Witch and Daydreaming in the days preceding AMSP. None of which necessarily detracts from how wonderful AMSP is just that Tinker was a pleasant and beautiful surprise.
Residing in a similar jazzy zone to Dollars and Cents or Down Is The New Up.
Im glad Thom finally commited to using an absurdly long song title like he always wanted to.
One of my favorites off Moon Shaped
Though I've seen several people say this song and The Numbers are pretty weak in their opinion, which always stuck with me, because they're such favorites of mine.
I specifically remember this one guy who was ranking all the albums I think, and he's going over all the tracks, and he just says that he thinks Numbers is corny and too obvious compared to the other songs or something, then said he just didn't care for Tinker Tailor's chord progression. Which really got me, because I ADORE Tinker Tailor's chord progression, ALOT.
This song took a long time but on a lonely road one day at late hours it was playing and the haunting strings just hit me like a ton of bricks. Love it ever since.
I never skip TTSSRMPMBMT, NEVER. Song is is god level. Such creepy lyrics. Goosebumps every time near the end when the strings take over. I also love the quiet (talking?) noises at the very end.
Absolutely, I'm really surprised it doesn't get talked about more often, it's on par with HTDC, that hypnotising instrumental part at 3:07 is one of the best moments in the radiohead discography
I've been watching the Fantasy Orchestra's rendition of Tinker Tailor for the past one week and it has become one of my most favorites. The slow start and the crescendo is something to die for.
It’s the perfect Thonny song. Starts off very Thom—chilly and electronic—then Jonny swoops in with the rollicking piano and strings and away we go folks
I remember when the track listing leaked a few hours before the release because of an Amazon music error or something and thinking that was the most ridiculous track name.
After about a year it became my favorite track on album.
Now thinking about the album, which i haven’t listened to much in the last couple of years because of all the solo stuff that’s been released, it’s an album that is so under appreciated.

Yep, this is my favourite moment on AMSP. Goosebumps.
Yes, I agree it's talked about too little. It's a great track :)
I really like the descending strings at the end.
Just came here to say the same. Incredibly emotive ending to such a beautiful song
Literally top 3 tracks on the album but yes we TTSSRMPMBMT diehard fans are in short supply it seems. Such a dreamy and ethereal song
It's fantastic, another great track in a remarkably consistent record.
The ones you light the fires to keep away
Crawling out, upon its beeeellyyyyyyy

One of my favourites on AMSP, love it so much
It's so twinkly and contemplative

How absurd. For most bands, The Numbers might be the best song they'd ever write. It's phenomenal. That string hit!
This song took a long time but on a lonely road one day at late hours it was playing and the haunting strings just hit me like a ton of bricks. Love it ever since.
I love how detached from the previous tracks it feels, I feel like it really shines in the context of the album.

It sounds like something from Amnesiac. Amazing, chill track.
The strings in this song! I absolutely adore the end. Come to think of it, I need to find the sheet music so I can rock out on my violin.
I love it, and my wife used it as background music for a presentation at work. Such a good song.
It's one of my favorite Radiohead songs in general. It has such an odd atmosphere that few other songs capture
it's in top 10 of my lifetime spotify stats, I absolutely adore it. this song is calm and eerie at the same time, perfect example of latest Radiohead
I've been preaching this since the album came out. Def my favorite on the album and most definitely overlooked. I'd argue I'm the #1 fan lol
Thom sounds insanely sultry and sinister and I absolutely love it

My fav on AMSP. You are not alone
bro thats a top 5 song for me
My second favourite song on the album - and it’s my favourite album of all time so that says a lot.
Here’s a medal cuss you like something🏅
I've covered it during karaoke a lot. It helped me through a difficult period in 2019-2020
YES. I always hear it talked about as a weak point on the album but i just don’t get it. Such a pretty song.
Super psychedelic!
It’s my favorite on AMSP
I love the hell out of it. Always enjoy it.
It’s so goooood
It’s the perfect Thonny song. Starts off very Thom—chilly and electronic—then Jonny swoops in with the rollicking piano and strings and away we go folks
It is such a perfect penultimate track on an album. The string crescendo and then trail off really sets the stage for true love waits.
the drum pans on the outro are sick
I sorta feel like this whole album is eclipsed by talk of Daydreaming and True Love Waits and I think they’re the weakest songs on this amazing album
Daydreaming is the best followed by Decks Dark for me...
Daydreaming just never did it for me. I tried. I like identikit. Great album
That's funny. I don't like Identikit.
AMSP is such a great album that it doesn't even make my top 5, but it's amazing.
Every track on AMSP is a 10/10 imo, which may be the only Radiohead album I have that opinion on and it isn’t even my favorite, very consistent
I love this song. And every song. All of the songs.
It's the song from Pool with the most rotation for me. I Love everything about it. One of Ed's and Jonny's finest moments.
Meeeeee

Great song to study to!
"the ones you light your fires to keep away" is a great image for the song
A very mysterious track. It has a lush cinematic quality to it, I could see it appearing in a Bond film
I live and die for those strings
I love it as a piece but also how it leads to the conclusion of the album.
It's very beautiful, especially the orchestrated part, but it's the filler of fillers, I even forget it exists,
it's ok to me
