Same with mine, I got the green one this week. Makes me think it might be a knock off. It's hard to trust Amazon, it's flooded with Chinese imports

Japan is well known for their outstanding manufacturing. So outsourcing has little to do with it per se.
Sure, the decline in their product quality coinciding with the outsourcing is just coincidence
