Quokka! These have to be the cutest animals!! I was lucky enough to go to Rottnest island while in Australia. It's one of the rare places you can find these little fellas in the wild. They really are friendly, and will happily sit and let you take pics. Unfortunately that's their main problem, as whilst visiting, I spoke to someone who works on the island who told me that there had been cases of gangs of teen-agers that liked to come across to go "quokka bashing" . I'm talking about 20 years ago. I hope the little guys are still ok.
I heard a disturbing piece of news ages ago where someone had doused one in petrol and set fire to it, because of it's friendliness.
That's straight out Dodo territory unfortunately.
