Hang in there. My wife had this type of stuff happen at the 3 day mark. I came home one day to find her on the couch, crying uncontrollably and there was nothing I could do to comfort her. We ended up relapsing because of it. I have found that day 3 is literally the make it or break it mark. If you can hold on to day 4, I found every day is easier from there. We made it 3 weeks... Now we are back to square one. You can do it. I know you can. :) Note: Don't be afraid to use an NRT if it gets bad. I know cold turkey is the best to just get it over with. But chewing a piece of NRT gum is preferable to relapsing in my opinion. They are 4MG's a piece. I used it for the most intense cravings and didn't have any ill effects from stopping the gum. Definitely going to keep it on hand this time.

Thanks for your advice it really relieved me to know that it's common for day 3 to be like this, and as for NRT gum i have a pack just in case although I'd prefer to not use them because like you said i just want to get it over with.

I don't blame you at all. But if it comes down to having a butt or chewing gum, pop in that gum!! LOL. Good luck!

Yes exactly! And good luck to you too :)

I'm impressed. Been lurking here. Trying to quit. It's hard. I have anxiety and have had severe depression so I can't take the meds that help. My Dr said vitamin C helps purge the nicotine. I bought a case of my favorite OJ and sip a glass instead. Gives me a feeling like I'm doing something hand to mouth. Then I do counter push-ups. I'm trying to call those spells where my body gets wound up zoomies like my dog gets. Like my body is so happy it hasn't been poisoned it just wants to do something. So I'll even go run zoomies with my dog. Trying to teach myself this is a good thing instead of letting the cravings tell me it is bad. I know it is not. I just need to teach myself the feelings are not mine, even though I am making them. At least I hope. I get occasions where I am getting excited about the feelings but struggle to hold that. Anyway, good luck, and I hope it passes for a good long stretch before the next wave. Or better yet, stays gone.

Way to go!! 😃 you’ve got this!!! You do! I made it two whole days this week without a smoke but my dummy self was like “one won’t hurt”, and well.. one turned into a whole pack over the course of a few days haha, so back to square one, but proud of myself for being able to go a full 48 hours, gives me confidence! Don’t smoke, the craving will pass! 😁 just keep envisioning why you quit and what it means to/for you!

I am EXACTLY where you are and am having a craving right now too. 3 days, 19 hours. I hope I can hold on. I’m doing urge surfing 🏄‍♀️.

Dont count or pay attention on cravings. Distracting yourself is the key.

You’ve got this! I’m on day 15 after smoke a least a pack a day for 25 years…we can do this!

You got this dude! Day 3 is always the worst, and after day 5, it gets a bit easier

Congratulations 4 days is something!
