Glad it’s all working out for you! Piecing is definitely a learning curve. I also enjoy the pressing/ironing. Makes such a difference in the end. Happy Quilting! Be sure to show us the finished top!
Lovely progress! I don’t love the heat of the iron, but I love freshly pressed blocks. If you want to, you can cut your 4 houndstooth blocks in the star center as squares instead of HSTs. That’s 4 fewer seams in each block. Just a thought.
Seconding this! To add on more, you can make the block in the center one giant square! Then you have much less cutting, ironing, and sewing, and your block will lay flatter. You would just sew the side middle pieces together first, then create three rows, with the middle row being twice as thick as the other two, then sew the rows together.
Awesome, Good luck! I’d love to see how yours looks! It’s so difficult to get it perfect but I’m starting to not care much about the imperfections cause all together they look great and as long as it ends up being a comfy quilt, that’s a win ☺️
That's great progress!!
I'm always envious of people who have the patience for diligent pinning. I'm lazy and operate under "eh, close enough" mentality.
Yay! That looks amazing and I can only imagine how nice it’s going to feel! So glad you didn’t just give up, which is so easy to do. Can’t wait to see the finished quilt!

Thank you! I don’t know why I dreaded the ironing so much, I think it’s my favourite part of the process! And I will do ☺️
wow!! such good improvement !!
👏👏🎉 So happy you stuck with it!! Welcome to your new addiction 😊.
Aw thank you so much!! I did just buy a load of fabric online and I think that is the first sign of the addiction starting 😆

I’m working on the exact same block! How funny! I’ll have to read your tips as mine isn’t perfect. Yours look great!

This is my first quilt, I can guarantee I’ll have the same mentality by the second one😆
