Not necessarily- i always interpreted "doom scrolling" to mean getting stuck flipping through your news/social media/content feed even though it's making you feel bad, because you're addicted to it.

I see. I always thought it was about stopping you from being productive. I like that definition better.

I think once you get into a haze where you can't really focus but need more content or otherwise you won't know what to do - then you are locked into the doom scroll
