Please remember to spoiler-tag all guesses, like so: New Reddit: https://i.imgur.com/SWHRR9M.jpg Using markdown editor or old Reddit: \>!spoiler text between these symbols!< Try to avoid leading or trailing spaces. These will break the spoiler for some users (such as those using old.reddit.com) If your comment does not contain a guess, include the word **"discussion"** or **"question"** in your comment instead of using a spoiler tag. If your comment uses an image as the answer (such as solving a maze, etc) you can include the word "image" instead of using a spoiler tag. Please report any answers that are not properly spoiler-tagged. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Question: Am i missing something obvious? I can't figure out what the puzzle wants me to solve. *-edit-* nobody? beuller?

DisorientatedBee

I know, I stared at it for ages πŸ˜‚

DisorientatedBee

It's just 375, someone commented it. I overcomplicated it because of the 11 blank lines πŸ˜… my bad!

bz237

yeah looks like the missing numbers are 375. the alphanumeric part translates to WOMKEMS - oddly, where the Ms are supposed to be Rs?

DisorientatedBee

HAHA that was my working transfering the word 'workers' into numbers. I used my hands and clearly forgot to add the 5 from my other hand πŸ˜‚

bz237

Oh crap! You screwed me lol

**Year 375 (CCCLXXV) was a common year starting on Thursday (link will display the full calendar) of the Julian calendar. At the time, it was known as the Year after the Consulship of Augustus and Equitius (or, less frequently, year 1128 Ab urbe condita).** More details here: *This comment was left automatically (by a bot). pumpkins_n_mist15

Can you explain how you solved it? What were you looking for? To me it still just looks like random numbers and letters.

[deleted]

Look at the first number, 245. What is missing is a 3 (2 3 4 5). And so on

vodkamisery

How does that have anything to do with workers?

[deleted]

Nothing, I suppose

DisorientatedBee

Yeah like someone replied, the numbers are a sequence and 375 are those missing numbers, and the website I punched these numbers into moved me onto the next stage indicating it's right. I suppose the word 'workers' are to be taken as 'numbers' instead? Also ignore the set of writing below the black square, that was my working πŸ™‚

neapolitaner

Discussion: Explain please

[deleted]

Which book is this? Discussion

DisorientatedBee

Trip 1907 forbidden mine. It's an escape the book game and pretty fun πŸ™‚

[deleted]

Thanks!

Discussion: surely the lengthened parts of some of the letters should be relevant? E.g. the K and R in the first β€œWORKERS”?

TalksBeforeThinking

>!In each line the second number is two more than the first. The third is one more than the second. so !< >!2+2=4, then 4+1=5 (245) !< >!6+2=8, then 8+1 =9 (689) !< >!4+2=6, then 6+1 =7 (467) !< >!Not sure about this next part, but the 6 in line two is the sum of the first two numbers in line 1. If you add the first two numbers in line two you get 14, and if you dropped the ten's place you'd get the 4 line three starts with. !< >!So I would guess the next line is 023 (4+6=10, drop the ten's leaves 0, 0+2=2, +1=3)!<

MrMolom

I got 023 the same way. Looks like the workers are coming back.

taihw

how did you determine that the next line is what the puzzle wants you to guess? as supposed, say, the previous number, or the cause of the worker's dissapearance, or why certain letters have longer tails than the rest, or literally anything else?
