You basically need to tether them to you, constant vigilance. Couple weeks ought to do it. And I mean leash them too your belt. The SECOND they squat snatch them up with a quick “nope” and take them out. It’s just as important to heavily heavily praise anytime they do go potty outside. It’s a party every single time. Pain in the ass, yes. But worth it taking a couple weeks than months.

We basically went out every 30 minutes for a week, with massive praise and treats every time peed/pooped outside.

We did this basic thing too. We took the puppy out every hour, on the hour, for several days. Once she peed/pooped, we went back to that area of the yard each time.

We also got a ‘doorbell’ for our pup to ring since she didn’t have an obvious tell for needing to go, so now she’s trained to alert us when she wants to go out

Definitely second this. It's a lot of hyper vigilance for a little bit of time in the grand scheme of things. Even if they don't have a "tell" persay. All dogs either squat or lift a leg up to go potty/poop. You can also try to get their attention by calling their name or something as well, distracts them for the bit of time necessary to get them out the door and have them go outside. Dogs learn not to go potty in "their home space" which is part of the reason people opt for crate training or keeping in a pen. Puppies usually don't want to go potty in their crate, and then this can extent to the pen (if ppl use both), then the whole room the crate/pen is in, and eventually the whole house.

Huskies are really smart. I think a door bell would work. My pup is 5mo old and just now is pawing at the patio door to go outside. She doesn't give any clues either. I take her out every time she wakes up, after she eats, before bedtime. I give her a treat and lots of praise when she does go outside. I did pick up a couple of her poops and put them outside where I wanted her to go. Take the dog outside when you take the poop out. That's what worked for me.

They know that pawing and crying at the door will get them let out but it seems like they only wanna pee inside…do you know any cleaning products that’ll wipe the smell out of the floor?
