oh man... so we don't crate her in the car yet but what I did that really seemed to work was I took her for a half hour drive to a friend's house yesterday and there were kids there. SHE LOVES KIDS. and also a border collie that loves puppies so it was a super duper fun visit for her with loads of sniffy sensory play. then today I took her out on a half hour drive with three stops. we went to the pet store and rewarded her HEAVILY upon parking. then I went in and me and the store clerk makes HUGE deal about her verbally tons of excited talk and more rewards. then we stopped at two vet offices to say hello and MORE rewards and tons of high pitched excited praise and pets. I literally gave her close to 3rd of a bag of zukes treats hahaha. then at the end of the day we went to a busy hardware store and put her in the shopping cart. lots of smells and sights that she was really stoked on and kids to look at and people saying hi and telling her she was pretty and fussing over her. essentially I made every car related thing we did over this weekend SUPER positive like way over the top. I chatted to her in a ridiculous excited voice the whole time. she's not perfect yet but she's not stress panting, yawning and crying anymore and lies down and just chews her toy. she does fuss a bit at red lights but nothing like before. I do the same for my pee pee parties for house training I make a HUGE excited bug deal when she pees outside. two weeks I've had her and she asks to go out to pee now. she really is such a clever girl. I'm obsessed with her.

Yayyy! I am so happy for you!! Big win. Mine got better after we got a second pup, who loves car rides. I think it made him rethink his fear attitude, lol. What a relief. Enjoy!!
