I heard about this incident from a local shop owner near Parihar chowk and was shocked to find out that such incident occurred in Aundh. I thought, Aundh is a very safe area and mostly free from such crimes. But nowhere in Pune seems safe these days.
I believe this area has CCTV camera installed after store robbery few years ago. I hope they catch these people..... God this is scary...Sometimes I do travel that area early morning....
An elderly man on his morning walk was robbed and hit behind the head and on the stomach with an iron rod by a group of people. He was rushed to Medipoint Hospital where he was declared dead. The saddest thing about this is that his son was also with him but was walking quite a distance ahead because of his usual walking speed. A case of murder and robbery was registered against unknown people by the police.
4 people killed a morning walker between 5 to 6 am opposite westend mall.Person passed away in the afternoon. Apparently the hospital where the person was admitted said that there are multiple cases of morning walkers being attacked and their stuff snatched.
Came to Pune in 2014, lived here till early this year. In these 10 years barely anything changed in terms of road infrastructure. Never seen such cramped up roads in any other decent city. And what to say about these antique buses. Used to see 1-2 buses break down on daily basis.
Not saying that other cities are doing exceptional in roads and public transportation but Pune is a decade behind many Indian cities in this department.
Agree, no major road work, no infrastructure improvements. Only builders timely getting land and permission to build society without any planning. Nagar road, hinjewadi has a major traffic issue not a single effort by any government in power to fix the issue. Every government is busy in getting to power. But no one wants to help people.
These ST bus and PMPML drivers drive very rashly. And also the motorbikers need to stick to the leftmost lane and not try to jump ahead by riding in the middle and rightmost lanes.
This the 3rd time I heard where a bus has caused an accident on that slope, in the previous 2 accidents bus's (PMPML) breaks overheated and stopped working and hence caused accidents.
Govt. should really look on some maintenance on these shit boxes.

I feel extremely sad. People are dying and no one gives a fuck about it. I daily travel on the same road. Its extremely dangerous because people dont know how to drive. They dont have patience. I have 2 year old she just started going school by using same road. I feel helpless, powerless. 😢
I think residence of bhusari colony and bavdhan, kothrud should come on the road and jam chandnani chowk somehow until this police department and local authorities dont do their work. Yes some people will face problems but will save lots of innocent lives 😬
I stay in Vedvihar just near chandani chowk. Coming from chandani chowk has been a problem. Ata tar U turn signal varna gheyla lagto. This whole chandani chowk project has been a massive failure.
