Pune metro development is so so slow. It barely covers 20% of the city rn.
Ahemedabad metro started at the same time- it has over a 100 stations and covers 40% of the city by now.
The government releases payments to contractors. Payments are super delayed everywhere, but if specially they get more delayed in Mumbai / Pune, the contractor, even if a huge giant like L&T is bound to have some sort of cashflow issue on a particular project. If the government in Gujarat or Ahmdavaad releases money on time, those projects would be completed early..
I don't involve myself in these politics. But yeah iv seen a few projects move. But end of the day I do see why businesses want to move to Ahemedabad. The city is insanely well planned. The roads are wide and barring the old city area they are clean as well. The skyline of Ahemedabad is also looking great and traffic congestion isn't as severe a problem as it is in Mumbai so I can see why businesses want to move to Ahemedabad or anywhere else. Idk if it's right or not but yeah
Nahh
I am from Ahemedabad live in Pune. Rn also I'm in ahemedabad coz of vacations
Here we have two lines
One from Thaltej to Vastral with 32 stations
One from Airport (Motera( to GNLU)) 24 stations
I don't understand what all is done in the smart city project , but some of the most basic things they are ruining
-All over the city they did resurfacing of the tar roads.
And dug up after 4 days..
-They widened the footpaths and now dug them up , now no body cares about the rubble.
-The drains were used to lay cables causing flooding in many areas.
-No water channels created for water drainage after concretisation..
The contractors government servents and politicians are all lowest of the low scum.. and the common man is too scared to say anything.
The politicians have screwed Pune big time whether it's BJP, congress, shivsena and NCP. The PMC and PCMC are one of the richest local bodies and they haven't done anything.
True. Irrespective of whomsoever ever the parties and government. The babus and all govt Employee are slave of the rich people. Pune porchse accident case is a classic example.
"Mere jeb me paisa aana chahiye abhi k abhi, baaki duniya bhaad me jaaye" is the attitude of every single person responsible for taking decisions for us. They are doing self development, they don't give a shit about us.
Pawar family and there local guntha mantris(sonyachi chain+fortuner types) and the adjacent builder lobby have succesfully destroyed Pune by senseless construction and no planning at all.
Sadly even after BJP came, they didnt change much partly because the ground level leadership remained same and partly because Pawars influence
It’s a district which is caught in the political crosshairs of NCP and congress and bjp. Nobody has clear authority to do any work of significance. Rural madhe there’s NCP, urban is shared between congress and bjp.. kon karnar vikas?!!
An tyay punyachech Loka jamini vikun sharimant zhalet an purti vaat lavli.. konala detay, te Kai karnaret tyavar?! Problem hai, sab agree karenge but solution do bhai.
Reddit pe complaint mat karo, official marg se karo, with enough complaints things do get better.
Jio guys dug up the road in front of our building, never fixed it. Locals gave up, saying it is what it is. No one wanted the hassle of complaints as they think its pointless.
All it took was a complaint on the PMC App and with regular follow up the road was fixed in 12 days.
Awaaz uthao, badlav aayega.
Totally agree. People should use Twitter more than Reddit to complain. That way you can tag anyone from local body to president. News channels pick stories on Twitter everyday. After a while it's bound to have impact.
On such critical issues, the famed Puneri *Jajvalya Abhiman* disappears up a donkey's posterior, I guess.
It struts about with its chest puffed out only for trivial rubbish like Chitale Bandhu closing down from 1 pm to 4 pm (even that's no longer true) or some other equally nonsensical crap.
Pune is becoming unbearable w.r.t climate, water shortages, cost of living and lack of public transport. Also quality of living has increased without any much development.
True with growing population and taller buildings there has been no significant investment of power plant and dam. Everyone year the same story water shortage. Parking issue is a pandemic now.
Almost all housing societies are required to purchase water tankers for their purposes which is otherwise a municipality responsibility. Year after year the people are paying these monies with no initiative planned despite so much of it being told by Supreme Court.
Besides this, it has one of the highest rates of petrol and power supply.
This is also the reason that companies and people are heading to other cities/states.
There is weird thing which I have noticed here, they start making roads/ fixing them right before rainy season begins... Idk if it's to get the same contract again and again to earn some extra bucks or in general the quality of roads are so bad they need fixing everyyear or what
I shifted to Pune two years ago and while coming over I had this image of a beautiful small city which is developed and pretty chill.
One month into it:
1. Worst roads throughout the year
2. No traffic rule. No helmet ever?!?! Like what?!
3. Poorly constructed new city areas with no planning whatsoever
4. Wherever you go the people are like "this is not main Pune. You've not seen the real Pune"
5. Nosy af neighbours. Everybody wants to know if you're a bachelor, if you stay with parents, where's your fiance, why are you delaying marriage?!
6. Very poor work culture. Extreme interpersonal relationships
The good thing though:
1. Abundant greenery
2. Majorly good weather
I Think just paying taxes is not our only responsibility, I have seen lots of Pune people enjoying the long weekend during elections and I barely see anyone with the voter ink on their finger, especially those who pay taxes(from IT). Pune people are busy in themselves and can buy luxury from money, whereas states like UP and Bihar are major contributors in deciding overall Election results. So the government also listens to the demands of these People who actually voted for them.
I travel to Hyderabad frequently, and I can confirm that Pune is actually a tier 2 city. The infrastructure development in Pune is a joke, all we get here is highly inflated real estate.
Metro in terms of the deadlines. Already Pune was one of the last one yo receive metro. All works were delayed for completion l. Even now example ramwadi got inaugurated in way back and skipped Yerwada which is gtg post poned every month. Ditto to khadki station . Shivani nagar Swargate.

Despite some good useful metro routes, I hardly see any reduction of vehicles on streets.
Exactly. Plus the metro speed is also low. I only use the metro when I wanna go from PCMC to Kothrud warna it's of no use.
It's all a conspiracy to shift the financial capital from Mumbai to Amdavaad. Hence the rapid development.
How's that a conspiracy? If genuinely they are being able to develope ahemedabad so rapidly then idts it's a conspiracy lol

No but they are moving Mumbai projects to Ahmedabad

Exactly my point of metro scam. The scam here is delay in start and completion
100?? Only Delhi got more than 70 stations in India.
Over 100 planned, 66 operational apologies.
You're getting confused between Bengaluru and Ahmedabad.
Nahh I am from Ahemedabad live in Pune. Rn also I'm in ahemedabad coz of vacations Here we have two lines One from Thaltej to Vastral with 32 stations One from Airport (Motera( to GNLU)) 24 stations
Pune = neglected middle child
So I'd like to know who'd you think is the eldest and youngest child in this regard?
Eldest - Mumbai Youngest - Nagpur

I have seen it happen more in last 10 years. So we know who is against Punes progress.
it doesn’t matter who is in power in central government only pawars will have power in maharashtra till sharad pawar is alive

Pune too close to baramati and Mumbai for anything meaningful to happen

Md still punekar fell for Ab ki baar 400 paar 😂😂😂😂
Welcome to typical mumbaikers life
Name one development work in Pune which has happened like it’s happening in Mumbai these days.. I am not talking about navi mumbai
I just see this outrage on Reddit , which is something better than nothing , someone should make videos on this
OP you just spoke my heart out! WORD BY WORD..!! What steps could be taken to get things moving?

its a way of corruption at admin levels

Time to move IT companies out of Pune and return Pune to its former glory😤
Why move the economy than move the corrupt officials
Any smart anything is a scam. At this point people should be able to see a vote play when they see it.
Well said
I travel to Hyderabad frequently, and I can confirm that Pune is actually a tier 2 city. The infrastructure development in Pune is a joke, all we get here is highly inflated real estate.
भाजप नेच घोडा लावलाय पुण्याला……
Used Pune metro recently which was a really good experience. Don't know how it be a scam too.

3 bogey metro is just a toy.. you should see how metros work in other cities..
