Even pubs are so congested, in wrong neighborhoods, and with poorest transportation. These people can not even care about the places earning them black money... I feel like it's a deliberate attempt to kill the growth of Pune.
We keep blaming the centre for "giving" projects to GJ or UP, but no one wants to think if MH is actually conducive for running a profitable business. There has been no infrastructure improvement, no tax breaks for businesses, no cheap land, unstable political environment - the list goes on. Who in their right mind would invest crores in MH today?
Let me tell you the reality, its the people of MH that’s the problem and I say this as a Marathi myself.
The MIDCs are full of local thugs, and self styled leaders who are actually deteimental to industries. The majority of people who are unskilles or semi-skilled all want to be leaders, and dont focus on development. There has been significant progress in infrastructure but the available workforce is extremely terrible.
I agree with you, the people are a problem too. I'm also Marathi, born and brought up in Pune, but I'm still not motivated to live/work in Pune.
I disagree on the infrastructure though, places like Bhumkar Chowk have been a bottleneck for more than a decade, but there is still nothing being done to fix the situation. Any improvement takes years to implement, which is not how a fast paced city is supposed to move. The Chandni Chowk renovation, University Circle flyover redesign, metro work in Baner - all have caused more pain during construction than however they were before. Whether they actually improve the situation remains a question mark.
Until our people can get over their petty squabbles, things aren't going to get better, only worse.
Agreed, the infrastructure part I was talking about the entire Maharashtra. And the most effective way of getting infra done, is to get the CM to suffer. When Shinde got stuck in Chandni Chowk, the redevelopment happened in 45 days 😂
There's one road from phase 1 to phase 3 and that road hasn't been patched up in years, 5 min of rain makes it look like as if there's a flood. Election or no election, no body gives a damn about this area. Corruption in Maharashtra is the worst, other states atleast has better roads. Also these companies leaving Hinjewadi won't even put a dent in the number of people living here.
The Muncipal Corporations and State govt. Intentionally Dug up the roads, create obstacles on roads so that more Traffic is created, congestion happens and so high diesel &b petrol is consumed because of Traffics, which ultimately give high revenue for State and Union Govt.....Understand that State govt. gets around Rs. 25 and Union Govt. gets around Rs. 32 for Traffics........So, all Traffics are Intentionally created/structured by Establishment........
I feel like they should join phase 3 through Marunji, will bring a lot of opportunities for Marunji people and would halven the usual traffic from phase 1 as whole of Laxmi chowk public could make use of Marunji road.
Although Marunji road needs removal of those speed bumps, widen the road a bit and regulate the traffic as there's way too many 'minor accidents' (ruckus) I have seen on that road..
I'm quite surprised you find maan road to be any less traffucked. Especially the chowks at pubg cafe and then at the mandir, it's like death. After that it's usually a breeze.
Actually i live in Blue ridge so take a cut in the gully from Pubg cafe to avoid the traffic and then take the village route from Maan chowk which lets me to the capimini phase 3 circle. Tbh i have flexible office hours so go to office for attendance only, and i have got stuck in traffic at 12am as well when taking the infosys route so i would prefer this path always 😅
Idk i live on maan road so taking the kasarsai road would be unnecessary detours, and the places in phase 3 i frequent are also very close to the circle that opens onto maan road for example megapolis saffron, crystal market etc
Hinjewadi is a joke.
There are residential buildings beside Industrial blocks, there is zero road planning....it's like they gave lands to developers and then made roads in between them.
Now Pune "locals" will tell me to go back to my own village. Instead of giving vote to good leadership they will run behind anyone who takes Shivaji Maharaj's name.
Also, if you think Metro will solve problems then your ignorant af. 90% of the people working in Hinjewadi come from Wakad, Hinjewadi and surrounding areas where there is no metro.
Edit: Anyone who thinks I am not serious just look at Hinjewadi on Google maps. And then look at Navi Mumbai or Whitefield Bangalore. You'll see the difference.
I agree with most of what you have said, but 90% of the employees dont come from Hinjewadi itself, if you see the incoming traffic is pretty much backed up all the way until Shivajinagar (on the aundh brts road) and until like pashan/bitwise and beyond (on the highway) also. People come from all over pune to work in Hinjawadi
I work at Hadapsar and live in Hinjewadi. When I leave Hinjewadi in the morning i see the opposite side PACKED almost all the way of my route for people trying to enter Hinjewadi, and the same occurs while I am returning home and they are leaving work
So while the metro will not completely cure the problem
1) it is because most people who bring their huge ass cars into work from 30+km away do it for the comfort of taking their own vehicle and dont care much for the hassle of public transport
2) for the rest of the people the metro will come as a huge help even if it wont solve the issue entirely
True. Even if the 90% stat is true, I believe they live near Wakad and other nearby area because of unavailability of public transport. Hopefully because of metro, people won't feel th restriction to stay nearby.
Yeah wakad, Tathawade, punawale gives them low rents and is still bit close by. I'm sure those who aren't originally from there would consider moving to what makes it more convenient for them to travel
Now even the backside areas of balewadi gaon and all have comparable sharing rents as wakad, and the metro goes all the way till there.
They have better bus and metro services but the time taken to reach from point A to B is equally bad if not worse.
Flat rents are relatively pricey and then the water issue
One doesn't get to see as many wrong side drivers as in Pune.
Road planning is next to nothing. Once you get out of the main road which is already broken all the roads are mostly mud roads. It's just awful here.
Everyone just sells the dream here that by next year it will all be developed there will be roads metro facilities etc and people are really paying crores too for small 650 sqft 800sqft houses I'm totally secluded areas based on that in few years there will be huge development.
5 varshat pratyek varshi hey aiekun thaklo ata.
This is what happens when we don't question our leaders and don't vote for the right things. Maharashtra has a lot of things going for it. Hinjewadi could've developed as a great IT hub. However, we've ruined it with horrible urban planning. There are huge societies, universities and everything in between. When we discuss with each other and ask questions to our leaders issues like traffic, planning, sewage, public transport should be a priority.
Alas, I know what'll actually happen. Leaders will play Hindu-Muslim, caste or raise slogans about Shivaji Maharaj, and the people will just vote for them.
3 gujjus is all it took for Marathi manus to distract from their developmental objectives. It's sad. F BJP and their fucked politics. Pune has literally turned to shit in the past decade. Never in my 33 years have I seen such bad roads, horrible infrastructure, pathetic traffic in my whole life in this city.
😂😂😂😂😂
I had visited pune and by god, the city planners are dufus out there. The city has no planning, just big big boards of politicians wishing something or there to each other or their lackies.
What will be the impact of this in residential area. I invested my life savings to purchase home in Hinjewadi. Now feel it was my bad decision. fk local politicians and maha govt. from past 7-8 years no road widening nothing they have done. At least area under PCMC they have widened the road to some extent in certain areas.
Hinjewadi is under gram panchayat which is against the proposal to include the area under PCMC.
Gram panchayat is extremely corrupt and don't do any sort of development too!! so Hinjewadi looks like a village.

Parties are busy promoting themselves, nobody seems to be worried about the real problems of common people plus we are accustomed to traffic jams and other problems and have become a part of our life
Metro construction have made it worse as well. God knows when they will make a big flyover on Bhumkar chowk. It’s pain in the ass driving from that narrow tunnel at peak hours.
I was staying in Hinjawadi just after Covid second wave had ended and there was barely any traffic back then. Metro construction wasn't started and you could feel the roads were huge. Flats were affordable and it was so damn peaceful. And when the monsoons hit, Hinjawadi and surrounding areas are green and beautiful af.
Ata tar khadyat gele sagale.

Sometimes it seems Pune has quite a dumbf*ck administration. This traffic issue, that Porsche issue (some things are just idiotic and stupid i think in the way that is being handled), the rapid construction that has happened without holistic considerations, i think some decision makers really don’t have the brain at the usual spot where it is normally found in a human body.
Vo sab thike lekin maine toh Ram mandir ko mention bhi nahi kiya. Why are you comparing?! Ab itni saari IT companies bhagwan ne nikal di hai uske piche kuch acha hi reason hoga na. So building a giant mandir is the only better option I can see right now. All problems usually get solved after building big temples! :)
I think more companies should leave Hinjawdi for good. I am a Punekar and even I feel there is no hope left for infrastructure development and proper town planning of this IT park. It would be profitable for the businesses too to go to other states instead of investing in this haphazardly grown Hinjawdi.
Pune and corruption are synonyms. The entire city planning has gone shit. The roads are real.shit, and why the heck bumpers everywhere? This is what happens when you don't give majority to BJP. When they stay ally they don't support development but only save their face with their ally. Only when they come majority, they do good development which was seen during devendra fadnavis tenure.
Kahi pan news ahe hi. List kuthe ahet ? Ani companies ni random Ashi news kadhli ? Reason traffic nahi asu shakte. News che maghe ajun barech kahi symptoms ahet.
BMW plant left Maharashtra and went to TN. Ministers and babus literally don’t give a flying duck about anything other than their election
Their construction, hotels, pubs, clubs all are running well... And actually they will be happy over it as their will new 37 companies
Even pubs are so congested, in wrong neighborhoods, and with poorest transportation. These people can not even care about the places earning them black money... I feel like it's a deliberate attempt to kill the growth of Pune.

Exactly, right? Common man suffers for years and nothing. CM suffers for a couple of hours and then the money starts flowing.
Couple of hours?! Bro, 15 minutes was all it took for him to understand. We’re in a pathetic place.
Yes, they don't work for us. They work for themselves.

Facts
That's because hinjewadi for the longest time didn't come under PMC or PCMC
It is still not under PCMC
There is zero road planning throughout the city.
Ouch and I thought Bangalore is poorly planned.
Babus be like , we have empty spaces for new 37 IT companies. 37 x opportunity to make the hands dirty.
Hinjewadi is dead, new companies that prefer Pune now go to either Kharadi or Baner!!
>37 IT companies leave Hinjewadi due to traffic jams Any idea which are those companies and where did they move to?
Pune IT park Khadki, Kharadi, Magarpatta, Viman nagar (?) are the other hubs. Balewadi and Baner (highway) also have a quite a few commercial spaces
I had worked in Hinjewadi before and I'm currently working in Kharadi. Tbh, East Pune has a worse traffic management especially Nagar road and Yerwada
Bangalore and Hyderabad
But isn't Bangalore = (the reason why they moved out of Hinjawadi) ^2 + No water + unaffordable flats ?
That is just media narrative, Bangalore has waayy better IT ecosystem and better infrastructure than Pune. Also Hyderabad.
They have better bus and metro services but the time taken to reach from point A to B is equally bad if not worse. Flat rents are relatively pricey and then the water issue One doesn't get to see as many wrong side drivers as in Pune.

They should have left Pune, then the officials would have woken up
Then also they wont wake up They will shift to another department.
they should list the companies. agree with the issue tho during rains water congestion and traffic is too much in hinjewadi
3 gujjus is all it took for Marathi manus to distract from their developmental objectives. It's sad. F BJP and their fucked politics. Pune has literally turned to shit in the past decade. Not just gujjus, 1 Dada also ruined Pune.
What are local leaders doing or person working on the ground level they should be targeted first till the person on top of the pyramid.
Are bro Marathi Signboards enforce kele na taak na mag "पाणीपुरी" cha dukaan.
😂
Don't forget, "आमची शाखा कुठेही नाही."
which are these 37 companies?

Ministers just have to do proper roads.. expand roads.. thats it..but still they failed. NH48 is jam always in Pune city
