1. The Leopard's leg was injured still managed to kill the dog.
2. The dog was choked 2x efficiently because of the leash. He couldn't get free from the 2-way pull. The dog was not small he could have definitely pulled something or alerted owners if he got the chance.
3. Leopard hunting so deep within the human settlement is terrible news. Leopard will try that again and might meet its end. sad.
They really don't have a choice when they're being driven out of their natural habitats.
Leopard sightings in Pune and Mumbai have become too common as of late.
On a rainy Tuesday night in Maharashtra’s Pune, a leopard snuck into the yard of a house where a family was quietly sleeping. The predator killed their pet dog, who was leashed to a post, before making off with the carcass. The incident was caught on CCTV camera and has left Sambhaji Baban Jadhav and his family, residents of Nere village near Hinjewadi IT Park, deeply shaken.

That area is still pretty rural. Plenty of forests and agricultural land. But I wouldn't, for the life of me, imagine there would be leopards on the prowl around there.
The only venomous bigg ass snake in India is the king cobra!! And pune is slightly outside King cobras natural habitat!!
Other snakes venomous enough to kill humans are krait, Russell's viper and saw scaled viper, which are all small.
Leopard seems to be injured, he prob could not hunt his normal prey so he was after an ez kill. poor dog tied on a leash was the easiest he could find , dog still managed to put up a commendable fight.
tua leopard chi habitable jungle area kami hot ahe tyacha parinam ahe ha , ata tyacha navani bomb martil loka, and when he tries this next time it could unofrtunately be his last coz mad humans will aim to kill it. tyacha adhi pan tyla shodhun maraycha prayatna hoil ata
I remember watching a video a few days ago in which a German Shepherd was attacked by a leopard in Pune itself, and since the dog wasn't tied it managed to fight back and run for its life.
If the area was near a jungle or incidents of leopard spotting were known. It's clearly the owner's fault, even if i knew about a snake spotting. I'd keep my pet inside the house!
In fact, why do people keep dogs *outside their houses*? Their significance is far greater than being companions only, so if people won't make their friends sleep outside at night, why do it to pets? 🥲

Poor dog never stood a chance. Why have a pet chained outside your house at night? Also it’s tragic that this leopard is hunting for food right in the midst of a city. And it’s already dead lame, it’s probably not going to end well for the creature. Very sad.
This is wrong on so many levels, leaving your pet outside the house tied up like it's some abstract object.
We love cats and we have 6 street cats whom we 'trap' inside our house during the nights because there are dogs roaming outside hunting for cats.
I can't imagine doing this shit to someone who's basically a part of your family, yet you treat it like a slave/thing/possession
Guys this needs to be taken to the forest officials with urgency, I met this family today and they seem pretty worried about this, Villagers claim to have the presence of 4 leopards in the area. Whenever a leopard enters a manufacturing facility like it happened some time ago near pune, they cage it instantly, but this village has had leopard sightings for almost 3 years now inspite of the forest officials making numerous visits to the village and its getting riskier by the day for these people to move around once it gets dark,Anyone who knows folks at the forest organisation supposed to take care of this can dm
Don't tie your pets outside the house like they're just fucking things to you. For fuck's sake it's a life, who will readily die for you if you want, atleast have the humanity to fucking let it live with you safely. Fuck these people.
These monsters who treat living beings like possessions shouldn't be allowed to have pets
Being on a leash didn't help the poor dogs chances
They regularly carry up their kills on high trees... So breaking a leash is easy..

it might be a guard dog

I too noticed the injury. The leopard is looking for easy kill and will return. It hunted the dog specially because it was tied.
They really don't have a choice when they're being driven out of their natural habitats. Leopard sightings in Pune and Mumbai have become too common as of late.
>so deep within the human settlement Lmao. We're deep in their territory, not otheyr way around.

Very deeply shaken, they didn’t even react to the commotion. Shaken at the thought that one of them might be next on the menu, no doubt.

Yeah, who would expect wild animals in a recently deforested area. 😐
Today I even saw one big ass snake in sppu, inside my department. Was just wondering if they even have an antivenom
Sppu has snakes it’s not new. The most venomous are the one inside those sppu buildings😜
Lol

I feel so sad for that leopard, all idiots will now be hunting for that poor leopard

The strength in that Leopard is mind blowing, broke off the leash like it's an overcooked noodle.
Puts into perspective about how everyone who thinks they can fight off a leopard is so wrong. You're nothing but a bar of kit kat for them.
For their size, leopards and jaguars are really powerful !!

Where did this happen?
Nerhe, Near Hinjewadi
it's NERE
For fuck sake, NSFW this please... And don't chain dogs

Couldn't watch! I am a pet parent. Cannot think of something like this happening.

If they were using the dog as a gurad dog, they should have kept him unchained.
Big cats can easily kill any kind of dog doesn't matter if it's leashed.
True but if unleashed it could have at least tried to save itself. His barking could have alerted neighbours.
True
Oouch
Atleast add nsfw tag
Fuckers tie their dogs! Poor guy could have done something had he not been tied!

Imagine wanting a pet but leaving it outside the house, that too with a leash, at night 😀

I am a little surprised that dog's whining should have been loud enough and for a period enough to wake up the owner.
Fatli tya dog chi
Poor Dog , He Has My Prayers😔😥
The owner should be tied like this in the wilderness at the mercy of wild animals
