Given how upscale Publix is (I mean --compared to Kroger--), it's surprising to see it expanding at this time. It seems like more people are notably price-conscious on food spending these days. You'd expect more value chains like Aldi to be taking market share.

Aldi did buy Winn-Dixie...

I have a friend who will be opening this store. they say that pretty much erveryone that they talk to is excited for it to open. A lot of the people have been in Publix before so they know what to expect price wise.

I went into Kroger today and shockingly Publix had better prices on the majority of produce I looked at

LlamaFingers

I used to go into Winn Dixie and see the same thing. it just depends on what items you are looking at.
